Our second lobster roll of the weekend! I hate to say it but the lobster roll I had at CitiField for the Mets game was somehow better (and the same price). Of all the things we tried at Haring's Noank, the lobster roll was just okay. The tuna ceviche looked frightening when it appeared on our table (an alarming shade of gray), but I realized that was from the coconut sauce they used on it, and then I realized I really liked the coconut sauce they used on it. It was a unique and interesting take on typical ceviche and I really enjoyed it. The best thing Haring's has to offer is their cheddar biscuit. I cannot describe how much I enjoyed it and how much I wanted to order a second one for the table. It was perfectly crunch and savory, and the butter you could spread on it was delightful as well. I've had Haring's in Noank on my list for a while, and I finally got the chance to stop in. We went on a Sunday at the end of spring, with clear skies and weather cool enough that the sun wasn't a problem -- honestly, it was just about perfect. I'm sure this place can get busy and a little chaotic in peak season, but when we went, the ambience was exactly what you hope for: relaxed, coastal, casual, and fun. The food was excellent across the board. Oysters, ceviche, sandwiches, easy kids' meals, and home-run appetizers -- zero complaints. My advice: take the BYOB tip seriously, settle in, enjoy the atmosphere, and order a mix of things. Try something new, try a staple, who cares -- just go. The best part? We had five kids with us, and everyone did great. The setup, staff, and overall experience made it easy to actually enjoy the meal instead of just survive it. My only complaint is the limited merch. I saw a waiter wearing a Wu-Tang "C.R.E.A.M." crustaceans hoodie, and I would have absolutely bought one and worn it proudly on the ride home. Great spot. Great food. Great setting. There's a lot to like about Harings. We were there on a wicked busy Saturday with the dining room almost full and one server covering. She did an excellent job managing through the weeds. Truly a high functioning professional. We had NE Clam Chowder (the only clam soup that deserves to be called a chowder by the way. Rhode Island Chowder and Manhattan Chowder are really clam soups!) a hot regular roll and a cold big roll. The chowder was a built thin and heavy on potatoes for my taste. I like a thick and creamy chowder with smaller potatoes. It's a personal preference and if you like thin chowder and large chunks of potatoes you will love this chowder. It has a nice flavor and the bacon topping is very nice. The rolls were very well made. The meat was plentiful and chunky. The buns were perfectly grilled NE Rolls. The hot buttered (CT) roll was judged to be very good. I had the cold roll and it had a bit extra mayo which is how I like it but I know some may not so keep in mind if you're one of those and ask for them to go light on the mayo. I like a bit more celery and celery salt in mine, but many people prefer less and they would love this roll prepared that way. It's BYOB. You can order from a local package store who will deliver to you (or go there and pick up your own beforehand). We weren't drinking so we had iced tea. It was served in a very diminutive water glass. It was pretty good, just tiny if you're used to drinking iced tea in an iced tea glass. It was fine for us. The atmosphere was very cozy, the dining room was organized and clean. Food came out timely despite the huge crowd. If you're used to Maine lobster rolls, this won't really approach that quality. I think it's as good as you're going to get in southern New England (anything south or even west of Maine). Nice firm chunks of lobster, but lobster in Maine is just different and better. Still it's about 5 hours closer to go to Haring's and that counts for a lot. We would return for the lobster rolls for certain. We made a reservation on Resy and that was very easy and efficient. I would do that for every visit given how busy they were. All in all this is a great place for an afternoon lunch that will only get better as the season warms up and the outdoors becomes an option. My friend just bought a new Lexus, and I convinced him it's time for the longest trip so far for the car I suggested Haring's Noank for a break-in drive for the Lexus. Upon arriving, I was just so impressed with the view and the surroundings for this restaurant. This is a beautiful area. Entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the server and told to choose any table we wish. Ice water was served along with the menus, and there were awesome daily specials. We both chose the hot lobster roll with a chowder included. This was $25 and a wonderful wonderful deal. The lobster roll was delicious, with lobster meat that was very tasteful and fresh . The lobster meat consisted of mostly claw with some knuckle in. There was no tail in the roll. The New England style roll was probably one of the best I ever had; a cross between a Hawaiian roll and a potato roll. Grilled just perfectly with the right amount of butter infused into the roll. The Rhode Island clam chowder was good but skimpy on the clams. It almost hit the mark but just missed. I had Keylime pie for 10 bucks. I couldn't taste the Keylime at all. This dessert missed the mark totally. I had a glass of Arnold Palmer iced tea lemonade. That was good. It's also BYOB. I'll take lobster Landing over this. I would take Sam the Clams over this, but this was very very good. The service was on point, and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and the surrounding areas of this location. Very informative well done. Haring Noank received some publicity recently from one of the major local news stations. So with that said the place was moderately crowded, steady but easy to get a table. Parking was abundant. Use your navigation to find this old Doc Ford place. I love the view out towards the sound. If you live anywhere away from the sound or the shore, this would be a great trip down to see the wonderful Connecticut coast and enjoy a great lunch read more

Went during off season and was able to get a reservation right away. The waterfront dining is not available but they offer outdoor right outside the restaurant. Beautiful decorated restaurant with limited seating. It gave family owned vibes with a thoughtful menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will return to check out the fish and chips! read more

I had the clam fritters, lobster egg rolls, clam chowder and the cucumber salad. - No clams in the fritters (5). All dough. - Lobster egg rolls (4) were good but, dipping sauce was way too salty. - Clam Chowder had no clams. Should've been called potato and bacon soup. - Cucumber Salad was spot on. After reading that this was on the NYT list of top 50 best restaurants in the country my sister booked us a table for my birthday. I have to say, we were a bit baffled at how they achieved the distinction. The blue fish pate was underwhelming and almost reminded me of cat food. The tuna tartare was in a lime coconut sauce which gave it an unsettling tang which no one wants when eating raw fish. The cold lobster roll was overly salty, over dressed, the bread a bit stale tasting, no real flavor outside of the salt, and twice I bit into shell, the second time almost chipping a tooth so I gave up halfway through as it just wasn't worth to to me. That said, the service was lovely. And the spot is classic New England vibes. However, I did prefer it when it was Fords. read more

I had a great meal here. Parking lot is a little small but I was able to get a spot. I came on a Sunday around 5 pm and was able to get a seat right away. It was a beautiful evening and the view is great! Right on the water and you can watch the boats go by. Service was a little slow at first and took a little bite for someone to come say hello and take my order. But I didn't mind because it was so nice out. I ordered the cheddar-bay biscuit and lobster spring rolls to start. They were delicious! I loved the biscuits and spring rolls. Flavors great and spring rolls crispy. They definitely forgot to bring me my appetizers because the butter was all melted but still tasty. I then ordered the seared local tuna for my entree. Tuna tasted fresh and cooked perfectly! Yummy! Eating "On the dock of the bay"! I have known this former fisherman g boat fuel dock, literally hanging over the Mystic River, for 60 years and the owners have fully embraced the local flavor, both with the local maritime tradition and the top-notch food. The pricing for the portions and ambiance indoors is on the high side. The waitress though sweet had no clue what she was doing or how to deal responsibly with our table of 6. The price for the chowders high for the size, very salty and no clam pieces found in any. (Hardly, what I would call a MUG of CHOWDER). The sides (macaroni and cole slaw very salty). Not good for people especially elders of which were most of the clients. When Haring's Dock was Ford 's they had a few interesting sandwiches,like a lobster BLT. With Haring's Dock, they have brought some great addition, like oysters. But, with a few exception, the menu looks like your typical seashore fish house. Of course the prices are sort of like the Hamptons. With all of those negatives, it's not a bad place to have lunch. In the summer, the dock is a great place to enjoy the sailing world passing by. Just remember BYOB read more

Beautiful setting overlooking water. Lobster rolls were excellent. Key lime pie was superb. The only disappointment was the RI clam chowder. Two people of our party ordered it. We arrived around 12:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and parking was a challenge as mentioned on their web site. One in our party ordered a 1.5 lb lobster, which was hard shelled and tasty. Three others ordered the fish and chips. The cole slaw and fries were well seasoned, but the fish and fries were very, very greasy. Just saturated with grease. We ordered the lobster hush puppies as an appetizer and they were overcooked and dry. You could see the lobster, but there was no lobster flavor. We shared a key lime pie for desert and nothing about it represented a true key lime pie. There was a hint of line, but the graham cracker crust was overcooked and the meringue topping just didn't belong. It reminded us more of a New York cheesecake with a hint of lime. Our table was set with dirty silverware, but otherwise table, furniture, restrooms were clean. The setting was beautiful and service was good. I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars based on service, cleanliness, and a nice view. If you are looking for a tasty meal, look elsewhere. read more

Harings had been on my list for awhile and I finally made it there end of summer. I went to try the lobster roll but also ordered the oysters and soup as well and everything was amazing. The waitstaff was friendly and the location on the water was beautiful. Will definitely go back next summer! read more

AMBIANCE: A beautiful view of the Noank harbor and a perfect location. One we have returned to many times over 10 years. Our second visit for Thursday lunch, since Harings restaurant opened in 2024 at this location. 5 stars SERVICE: All staff were friendly, competent, attentive without being intrusive. 5 stars FOOD: ... and herein lies the rub. The selection/quality/preparation were inadequate. Inquired about Cheddar Bay biscuits... out of that! New England clam chowder, tasty but no clams! Lobster spring rolls were very tasty. Crispy fried Haddock sandwich, was fresh but the portion was minuscule and delivered a bland taste. The Cod Fisherman's platter looked great, the serving size ample,but tasted overcooked and dry. Dessert was a chocolate peanut butter mousse, it was delicious... it also had not a hint of peanut butter in it. 3 stars. A very disappointing experience Haring's is striving for mediocrity and doing a good job! read more

Sat outside for lunch, had such a great experience thanks to our fabulous server (wish I had gotten her name). Really pretty outdoor space right on the water, watched fisherman cut up the day's catch and also sell an 8lb tuna to the restaurant. Can't get any fresher. The gazpacho is some of the best I've ever had. Amazing flavor and texture. Shared the tortilla chips with locally sourced salsa with my husband. We both loved it. Lobster bisque was great. Husband also had the lobster spring rolls. He's still talking about how great they were. It's a BYOB place, so grab a bottle of wine at the package store on Pearl before heading over. read more

Visiting from Ogunquit, ME, anniversary trip turned into the hunt to find the best lobster roll on the East Coast...... and boy did we find it! We started with a dozen oysters and the scallop crudo, so fresh and delicious. Our server Brittany was wonderful, attentive and extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and culinary craft of the locally sourced menu items and farm to table concept. For the main event, I ordered the hot 1/2 pound lobster roll and my husband ordered the 1/2 pound chilled lobster roll with lemon aioli, both exceptional, we couldn't get enough. Great overall concept in every way, but with poor implementation at almost every level. Absolutely beautiful location, of course. Service was laughably bad (options were rude yet competent, or kind but poorly-trained and/or incompetent). Food was plated in an unappealing, thoughtless manner. Dishes were thoughtlessly dressed with an obscene amount of butter/sauce. Biscuit dough must have been overworked, as they were tough, and also rather lacking in the promised favor-explosion. Dessert was actually gross, and the recipe was poorly executed. Potato salad had a flavor note that implied it might be going off or maybe something weird was happening with the flavor profile. Even the french fries were disappointingly limp. Perhaps, we went on an unusually challenging night - while such issues are bound to happen, I'm not willing to try again. Came here for lunch one day and we both decided to share Steamers for a starter.They were a little large so we only got 9 of them with our order as they were sold by the pound. Was that really a pound? They were good ,but served with a Citrus butter which we thought took away from the actual flavor of the steamer. We also ordered two Lobster and Avocado grilled cheese. They were brought to our table and were just two small pieces of toast with a little lobster, a little avocado, one slice of unmelted cheese and a ton of mayo. We called the server over and she kindly took them away and asked us what we would like instead. So our second choice was a lobster roll. They came out and unfortunately they tasted and looked like they had been sitting in a warm butter bath for an hour. They had no flavor at all. We did however appreciate that they offered potato salad,cole slaw or macaroni salad instead of just offering potato chips with their lobster rolls like so many other places do. We always loved coming here when it was Fords but unfortunately would not come here again. read more
