    Good bowl with chicken
    Clare C.

A cute little spot! Parking can be a little difficult in downtown but we decided to go to the pay lot across the street. Came on a Tuesday evening around 6:30 pm and we were able to get a table right away. The service was nice and quick. The menu has a variety of burgers, pizzas, and salads and soups and other entrees. I ordered the good bowl with chicken and really liked it. The ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors worked really well together. Loved the sauce on it. The inside is cute and has a nice atmosphere. I thought the bowl was a little more on the pricey side for $27 with chicken. But overall a nice meal!

LOVE this place for happy hour. We were in Mystic for one weekend and came here two days in a row. The happy hour deal is amazing and the margaritas are large and tasty. The food was also so flavorful, we ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and there were no misses. Not too crowded, especially if you come early, and the vibes are high. Not on the main stretch, slightly tucked away but worth the walk!

Great vibe, delicious food, and great prices! Happy Hour all day Sunday is a great deal.

We selected to dine at Milestone in Mystic because of their outdoor patio, we decided this before knowing what kind of food they offered. A bit backwards, but it worked out okay! It was such a beautiful, sunny day, I'm surprised more of the patio hadn't been occupied. Lucky for us there were plenty suitable choices for all of us in the menu. I got the Good Bowl. This is my kind of salad, it was very fresh, filled with all of my favorite things. It had quinoa, radish, sweet potatoes, red onion, avocado and toasted pepitas seeds. We also got their Spring Pie and Herbed fries. The pizza was a bit too thin and flimsy. It was ok, but certainly not anywhere near the top of the list for the best pizzas. One thing that was a bit annoying about the service was the lack of water. As I mentioned it was pretty warm outside. We received lukewarm water, and no ice. When our food arrived we hadn't received a refill. Eventually I had to ask the waitress for more water, she brought a big bottle of not so cold water, filled our glasses, and took it away. Hmm.. this is a bit strange. Other than this the service was fine.

Drink menu has a lot of variety

I finally checked out milestone the other day and I was pleasantly suprised by my experience. The waitress was attentive and offered great suggestions for the menu. The artichoke dip was warm and paired well with the pita. The cocktails I tried were refreshing and bright in both flavor and color. The standout was the salad tho. It had a cumin based dressing that left me floored with how incredible it was. If they are willing to sell me that dressing I'd gladly buy it .

Great Music playing in the back ground. I walked in and paused to see if I was treated for a moment and no one greeted me, so I asked some staff that were sitting by if it was self seating and they said yes. So I sat at the bar. I was welcomed and water was provided along with the menus. Drink and happy hour menus. I got here early, so the happy hour bites and libations were all that was available. Found out when I began to order and was told that I had to wait until 4, so I ordered off the happy hour menu.... Figured I would chill until 4 and then order a main dish. Sometimes you need to be patient to see what comes up. Drinks are made to order, in case you don't see your favorite on their drink menu. I was served by Rolando, which a fellow Yelper mentioned Dips were yummy and hit the spot. Left to right, dips a different take on hummus, cheesy, and olives Really flavorful. Tried the taco. Yes, one taco... It fell apart. Not bad though. I mixed the olives and cheese and it was on point. I was also able to order a little early because of Rolando. Also recommend dipping your fork in one or multiple dips before tasting the Brussels, I think you'd be surprised at the great taste they can give. There gets to be a crowd, even on a rainy night. Saturday night reservations recommended. Parking. Not so fun when it's raining.

    Drinking with Chickens (cocktail)
    Lauryn H.

Came here with a friend over Memorial Day weekend and it was absolutely amaaazing! Our server Emily was very kind and attentive. We started off with the "Drinking with Chickens" cocktail and subbed the gin for vodka. It was delicious but a little heavy on the Campari, the prosecco was faint, definitely not a bubbly drink but still very tasty. We shared Roasted Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer. They were scrumptious and seasoned to perfection. I also got "A Good Bowl", it was great but definitely not a very flavorful dish. Very light. My friend got a burger, I believe it was "The Milestone" with LTO, she said it was great but the burger was MASSIVE. A bit messy to eat. Came with 2 patties. The perfect option if you're super hungry. What I loved the most about Milestone was their seating options! They had an outdoor patio with umbrellas and an indoor/outdoor area with lots of natural light and fans (where we sat). They also had an indoor portion that was closed the day we went. Overall 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Ordering was very easy online, even though the prices seemed a bit high. We ordered $109 worth of food...Arancini ($16), garlic bread with cheese($16), Penne al Vodka with sautéed chicken($32), and the Alfredo with chicken cutlet($38). I was expecting a lot for prices like these. The Arancini were 5 pieces the size of golf balls and the flavor was ok, not worth $16, out garlic bread with cheese ($16) was left out of our order, the penne vodka with sautéed chicken ($32) was dry and there were 5 small pieces of chicken, and the baked penne chicken Alfredo had broken sauce, full of grease and almost inedible...I threw out most of it. I expected so much more from this establishment. The parking lot was packed and parking just to get takeout was challenging, but the food and prices were amazingly disappointing. We may try their pizza to see if that is any better, but I would not recommend the pasta dishes. I can see charging g prices like that if the pasta was homemade, but even that is a stretch. 3 stars is generous

The Philly cheese rolls were another hit: crispy on the outside, packed with flavor inside, and perfect for sharing... or not sharing. It was founded by culinary couple Johan Jensen and Abbey Hemmann. Johan is a native of Denmark while Abbey is a Connecticut native. The two met in Cape Cod and eventually got married on White Crest Beach in Wellfleet. In July 2019, the couple opened their first restaurant, Whitecrest Eatery, at the Velvet Mill in Stonington. The historic building was originally home to the American Velvet Company, which operated from 1892 to 1996. Today it is a multipurpose building that is home to a thriving community of small businesses and artist studios. The American bistro with a weekly-changing menu soon won numerous awards and accolades. By 2024, the couple opened a new restaurant in the Velvet Mill. This time they would focus on artisanal wood-fired sourdough pizza as well as sandwiches, salads, and other delicious treats. Named for the "back door" of the Velvet Mill, the pizzeria soon won its own accolades. My sons and I recently had lunch at Back Door. I've visited the Velvet Mill numerous times, but this was my first visit since Back Door opened. After looking of the menu, we all decided to order and share the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce, EVOO) and the "CBR" (house ranch, bacon, chicken, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, everything spice, lemon, dill). After ordering, we picked a table right by the pick-up window so we could watch the kitchen crew at work. Both pizzas had great crust that was crispy on the outside and yet chewy on the inside. The fresh ingredients gave the pies some rich flavors with a nice smoky finish. I really liked the "Margherita", but it was the topping combo on the "CBR" that left me really impressed. I washed everything down with a bottle of locally-produced Hosmer Mountain Birch Beer. We were all very happy with our lunch. Before leaving, my younger son had a delicious "Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie". He was nice enough to offer me and my older son a bite. We were impressed with Back Door and hope to return in the future!
