I stopped by here this past Thursday with my with wife, her parents and our twins for lunch. We decided to come to Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats because as a beer fan visiting Rehobeth Beach, how can you not? We arrived to the restaurant shortly after it opened for lunch and were seated almost immediately in a booth that looked looked out on Rehobeth Ave and felt like the inside of a barrel. The inside of this place had a number of similar tables to ours and then beyond that a number of well spread out regular tables with chairs as well. It's ceilings were high and it also had a spot where you could watch part of the kitchen at work. As I often do whenever I go to a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. Since I have had many of their beers before, I mostly chose from those only available at this specific location. The first beer that I tried was the Kiwi Jr. Grisette Ale. It was bit dry with a hit of citrus at the finish which I enjoyed. Up next was the Covered in nugs which had big hops from start to finish with a nice amount of piney bitterness at the finish. Third was the Liquid Truth Serum which was a hop bomb on the first sip. In my second sip I was able to get some sweetness and what I thought tasted like pineapple for a bit before the bitterness filled the finish. Last but certainly not least was the Brisket? brisket! How can you say no to a beer brewed like a brisket? I guess you can but the nitro stout with brown sugar, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne and roasted sweet onions was intriguing to me. It ended up tasting mostly of the dark malts with a bit of sweetness on the finish. I did eat a burger inbetween the liquid truth serum and it though and maybe that changed the taste a bit. All of the beers ended up being good but I thought that the liquid Truth serum was my favorite. Then for lunch I ended up ordering the tweezer reprise burger, medium well, and chose the house-cut fries as my side. The menu described the burger as coming with House-Made Pimento Cheese, Pesto Aioli, Shredded Lettuce, Potato Sticks. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much out of their food, but boy was I wrong there. The burger actually ended up being delicious as the patty itself was well seasoned and juicy with a nice crust on both sides. Then the potato stix added a crunchy textural component while the pesto aioli added a ton of brightness and deliciousness to the burger. The house made pimento cheese is the only part of the burger that was a little disappointing as I could see it and feel the creaminess on the burger but the flavor of it was totally overwhelmed by the pesto. Besides the burger, the fries ended up being quite good too. You could tell they were freshly cut and they were fried nicely enough and seasoned well. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. All of the beers here lived up to what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised by how good my burger and fries were too! read more

Wife and I definitely loved the innovative Dogpile Nachos ($16). We could have split just that for lunch. But since I was on vacation, I also had the Crab and Corn Chowder. It was a nice "bowl" portion with good cumin or curry flavor, but there was literally one small flake of crab. So it was a ripoff at $12. Minus one star for that. C'mon, do better than that, guys. We ordered the green machine salad to share at the table and it was so delicious! I would return to Dogfish just for that salad alone, it's a must get. For my entree I ordered the McLaine Mac and cheese...it was so-so. Aside from a little heat, both the Mac and cheese and the chicken that came on top were bland, I wouldn't order this again. My friend ordered the hot chicken sandwich and he told me to rave about it in this review. He loves his hot chicken sandwiches so I trust his judgment when he says the sandwich was great. I give dogfish a 4.7/5 stars Really love this place. Every time we go my family shares the appetizers. The dogpile nachos, fried pickles, and pierogies are all worth coming back for. This year we had the corn chowder as well and it did not disappoint. This is a must stop in rehoboth. Whether for appetizers or drinks - it gets busy after 5pm on the weekends and probably around the same time on weeknights during the summer. We also really enjoyed some of dogfish's signature cocktails in cans that they make. The strawberry lemonade and whiskey sour are awesome. We were lucky to get a window seat and watch all the people walking by as we are. No live music every night but keep up to date because they do have a stage area for live music. read more

The food was good but the service here was horrendous. My group came just in time for the live band Ma'am to come, which was pretty cool. We were SHOCKED by how the server was treating us. He took half of the table's order, and left the other 4 of us hanging. So four of my friends ate and finished their food while the rest of us were waiting to order, confused. Our server was incredibly inattentive, and we had to wait so long for our food to come out after already waiting forever to order. The emporium: next door they have a shop to buy merch and to go beer both cold and room temp. Fun selection. They also have taps that look like they would service samples but I think they are too busy for that. Employees were knowledgeable and professional in speaking with other patrons about the beers. (With the exception of the next part.) Only Negative: We had an awkward experience at the emporium. It's a retail shop- beer, and merch so the only employees are cashiers. The place is very open and modern with a pub vibe. We were lucky to be seated in a barrel booth with a large bubble window ( which the kids loved). The acoustics are pretty loud on the floor but we were able to converse in our barrel booth. We started with fried pickles and pretzel bits which everyone liked. The beer is of course excellent and satisfies the need for anything from dark heavy stuff to light lager, I always find something new and fun every visit. The food is superb, they recently tweaked the menu I think and they have some great new burgers and sandwiches, and don't sleep on the pizza. Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats is a craft brewpub that opened in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware in June, 1995. It was founded by Sam Calagione. Calagione is originally from Maine, but spent time in New York City as a young man. He first began home-brewing in his kitchen and the first beer he brewed was made with overripe cherries (much to the enjoyment of his roommates). Years later, he had the idea to start his own brewery in Delaware because that was where his wife's family was from. Calagione chose the name 'Dogfish Head' in reference to a location in Maine that he had spent summers as a child. In June 1995, 'Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats' opened as a small brewpub in Rehoboth Beach. Originally, they were only brewing 12 gallons of beer per batch. Dogfish Head's slogan became "Off-centered ales for off-centered people". Not only were they the first brewery in Delaware, but also the smallest commercial brewery in the country. Once their popularity grew beyond the borders of Delaware, the production enterprise moved to an old food cannery (a 100,000 square foot facility) in nearby Milton in 2002. Today it is one of the largest craft breweries in the country. In 2015, Dogfish Head began a construction project to open a new brewpub. The new Brewings & Eats opened in the old parking lot area in 2017, along with a seafood restaurant called 'Chesapeake & Maine', and the original brewpub was demolished. My wife and I first visited Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in February 2018. We stopped at the production brewery in Milton for a tour and tastings and then stopped at the brewpub afterwards for lunch. The menu featured burgers & sandwiches, tacos, wood-fired pizza, and various bar bites. I ordered the Blackened Salmon Tacos with fries and my wife had the SeaQuench Ale Chicken Tacos with fries. Our food was excellent! To drink, I ordered a "Straight Forward Porter" (a brewpub exclusive) followed by a "120 Minute IPA" (my favorite Dogfish Head beer). The interior of the brewpub was really nice and even had a stage for live music acts. After lunch, we drove by the Dogfish Inn where craft beer fans can spend the night. We had a fantastic time and are interested in trying out the seafood restaurant the next time we're in the area. read more

As you would expect, Dogfish knows their cocktails! We stopped for lunch while on a day trip to the beach and had a great time choosing a drink. I had the canned orange bergamot whiskey bevvie (left with two packs to go haha) and my friend had white sangria (well balanced and not too sweet). Ordered the fried pickles for appetizers - these are a must get. We also had burgers which were fine but not much to write home about. I loved trying their Rehoboth Beach exclusive beer - Whoa That's Tangy. It was a sour beer (right up my alley) that had an excellent flavor that reminded me of summer! I ordered a pepperoni pizza as my meal (basic, I know), and I regret not trying one of their more specialty pizzas. Everything about it was just okay. It had way too much cheese on it, which I wasn't a fan of, but I did manage to eat the whole thing without a problem (because I was starving). Happily, we grabbed a table for dinner during a busy weekend. Our service was prompt and helpful and in no time we were enjoying our selection of drinks. I'm quite glad I ordered the pizza as the crust was phenomenal. The bottom was crisp and the middle had a nice chew with a crisp and oiled top layer. The garlic and garlic oil pizza was unique if not a little one note (could have used something like basil to freshen it up). My party had good things to say about the beef on weck and the BBQ sauce.
