My husband and I are currently fostering our senior neighbor's dog while he's in the hospital, and we wanted to get the pup cleaned up with a good grooming session. The only problem is he's a very nervous dog and he tends to bite people he doesn't know when he's scared. We weren't sure if we would be able to get him groomed because of this, so we decided to walk into Doggie Avenue one morning with the dog and see what the workers suggested. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and they were able to groom the dog on the spot as long as he wore a muzzle. We were totally fine with that, and we were so appreciative that they were able to give him a good bath, nail trim, and haircut. He feels so soft, and he looks absolutely adorable! They also called us to let us know exactly when he would be ready for pickup, so he didn't need to go into a cage after the grooming session. They really treat animals well here. I've been a patron of Doggie Avenue for about 13yrs now. I have moved away from the Burbank area and still choose to drive my girls there for grooming. Belen did our favorite cut on our yorkie (who has since passed) and helped us figure out the cut we like on our maltipoo (it's not a traditional maltipoo cut). She knows us so well, that when we got our rescue pup she knew exactly what kind of cut we'd like. Their cuts are always consistent. this review is late but it still bothers me that my dogs hair is ruined forever so I thought I would finally write a review on it. I brought my in dog for a groom, I gave specific instructions about how I wanted the haircut, I had before photos where I explained I wanted the over growth to be trimmed and thats all. When I picked him up he was shaved... To give some background he had golden retriever textured hair so I was extremely shocked to say the least. Having worked at a grooming/ dog daycare I knew that if you shave a dog with long soft hair there is a chance that it will change your dogs hair texture (making it thicker). I hoped that since it was his first and only time being shaven it would grow back normally, but that was not the case. He now has thick white hair with a texture similar to that of a chow chow. His hair would take a while to grow the white hairs but now it just grows white and thick all over even when it's only an inch long. The groomer didn't say they shaved him due to matting fyi (again I know that can be the case for dogs who are extremely matted, but he wasn't) anyhow I just wanted to leave this review, but staff were very friendly and I understand mistakes happen, this one just happened to be permanent! read more

I've taken my dog here a couple of times. It's an okay place for grooming, and the pricing is reasonable if you're in the Burbank area. Depending on who you speak to, the staff can be a little rude. I observed a poorly handled conversation from an associate to a customer. The review here is for customer service and the "amazing" replies the owner gives to the people that leave negative reviews. She comes across as pretty condescending. There are positive reviews that she replies to that say the only thing that matters is if her customers are happy, then the negative review right after the positive review is her rudely responding purely from emotion on her end, not taking the time to understand her customer and diffuse the situation (just a little bit hypocritical). From what I've read and observed in person, the business can do no wrong, and all of the unhappy customers lack common sense, and according to the owner, need to enroll in a 100-level college course if they aren't satisfied with the service lol. I think the owner needs to enroll in customer service 101... Actually, not sure if that is really a class. Maybe she should enroll in Communication or Psychology 101... lol. read more

The last time I brought my dog here was probably about 2 months ago because I wash my dog very two weeks until his hair gets a little longer for a shave. I didn't see Will at the time, but a girl took my dog away when I dropped him off. She didn't seem customer service oriented. I have worked in sales over 30 years and I smell a good CSR. I learned Will, the most efficient customer service guy, left and moved out-of-state. *Gotta love Will* I called to leave a voicemail last Thursday for an appointment. Usually, I get a call back in the same day. I was at an appointment when I noticed I finally got a returned call which I obviously couldn't answer. No voicemail. Given the benefit of a doubt in their customer service, I returned the call. The voicemail was full. Need I continue? I have tried several groomers in the past, but, Doggie Avenue have consistently been the absolute best in town. My dog, Charlie, was a rescue and very skiddish around strangers, especially groomers. I had a few who wouldn't even take him to cut his hair. But, Belen, the amazing groomer, was able to control him and teach him how to be pampered. The staff has always been patient with Charlie. The bathers do a great job, always consistent, and know Charlie by name. And, the new staff up front are kind, considerate, and friendly. Now, Charlie LOVES being left at Doggie Avenue, and he's always full of smiles when I pick him up. I always tell my friends with dogs to go to Doggie Avenue. There are bald spots on her paws and uneven hair cut on legs. She has a superficial cut on her area down there. I am not impressed by this place. Have no fear, Doggie Avenue is here...for your pet! We have taken our labradoodle puppy (Ozzy) to numerous groomers but we are so happy we found this one! To start, the staff is exceptionally welcoming and warm. Their boutique is adorable. The staff was very good with welcoming Ozzy, as he was obviously nervous walking into a new place. But that was no match for their staff's warm welcome with treats and lots of love. We asked for a simple wash along with a nail trim and a few custom requests. They truly went above and beyond. As tricky as our dog's hair can be, they nailed it and they will definitely be seeing Ozzy again soon. We are ecstatic to have found this groomer and would recommend to anyone. read more

Great spot for dog grooming. I just adopted a small dog from the shelter and he needed a hair cut. I Called Doggie Ave, the person that answered the phone was very friendly and quoted a price that was very fair and in line with a couple of other places that I called. I looked for a groomer in my area of Sherman oaks or North Hollywood but many places didn't answer or were closed on Monday. I choose doggie Ave in Burbank Luckily for me they had a cancellation and were able to fit me in that day. what sold me was when I came in, I was greeted so nicely. Im a new owner to a long hair dog so this is a new experience for me. It was a pleasure to have someone really listen to what I wanted done to my new dog. I took my baby, Chanel, here for grooming for the first time and had a very positive interaction and vibe. They were sweet and kind. My poor pup has been cut a few times by other careless groomers in the past so she gets scared when being groomed now. I made them aware of this and they were very open and considerate of all the information and her past experiences. When I took her they helped to psychologically condition her to know that she will come back to me, by taking her and walking away then back and given back to me. There was so much thought, and I truly appreciate it. Usually when I would get her groomed, she would come home and be upset, even after mobile grooming. This is a tough review to write, given the 9 years of dedicated patronage I gave this business, bringing them my 2 very sweet and well behaved dogs to be groomed regularly, throughout the pandemic and when things were tight for me. One of my beloved dogs passed away, and I still brought my remaining dog religiously. The owner, Will, always fit us in, and if he saw that he missed my call when I called to make an appointment, he would call me back the same day. Before the pandemic, he would actually drop my dogs off at my office for me when they were done being groomed! Then I got another dog, who was a puppy and obviously not as well behaved as my others were because, well, HE'S A PUPPY. I brought him as soon as he had the shots required to go to a groomer. When I went to pick my dogs up, it was like I had committed a sin. I got scolded by the groomer that had groomed my dogs the entire course of their lives, and was told by Will that the groomer "never loses her patience" so this was a "rare case." I was told I needed to bring the puppy in every 2 weeks and comb him every day. So I did just that. He's a puppy, so yes, he bit at the comb. Then I did this crazy thing: I let him chew on something while I combed him. And I'm not even a professional groomer. When I went to pick him up after his groom two weeks later, there was a new person I hadn't seen before, and she told me that my dog had been "naughty" and that this would be the last time they gave me a discounted rate, since the groomer hadn't been able to finish him. So next time it would be full price. I really didn't want to switch groomers, because my other dog was comfortable there, so I thought maybe I would bring the puppy elsewhere. So when I called on a Tuesday to ask when I could bring my other dog in, I was told they were booked until Saturday. Never in the 9 years I had been taking my dogs there did I have to wait more than a couple of days to get my dogs in. At that point, I texted Will, because he always told me to text him if I needed an appointment (although I never had up until that point). Apparently Will was / is no longer there and moved out of state. After dedicated patronage for that long, I really would have expected a heads up. I no longer take my dogs there, and our new groomer, Mary's Pet Salon in Thousand Oaks where I live, gives my dogs the most adorable haircuts! Oh, and she doesn't have any issues with my puppy.
