I've been taking Bella to Lucky's Dog Grooming since she was a puppy (she's 9 now). After moving to Santa Clarita almost 5 years ago, I had to try a bunch of places closer to home, but I was never truly comfortable. Every time I dropped her off somewhere new, I had this uneasy feeling. Bella would come back stressed and not like herself, and after a few bad experiences (including her getting injured), I just couldn't keep putting her through that. So I went back to Lucky's Dog grooming, her original groomer and I'm so glad I did. The owner genuinely cares about the dogs, and you can feel it. Bella is calm, happy, and treated with so much patience every time. I've seen some comments about small cuts, and while of course no one wants that, sometimes it can happen depending on the dog's skin. Personally, I'd take that over my dog coming back anxious or hurt any day. I'm really grateful for them. HORRIBLE! Uneven haircuts. Overpriced. My dogs haircut is so uneven, I want to cry for him. They cut his hair shorter than asked, cut off his brows (which I specifically told them NOT to do twice before they told him back), and gave him the most choppy, uneven hair cut. He's never had a haircut this horrible. I could have done a better job if I threw the scissors at my dog blindfolded. Def DO NOT recommend. read more

So I've been here many times. And they always do a good job in terms of the haircut. And even in this situation her haircut was still good. (I have a small white dog.) But my dog like many, is very scared of the groomers. She starts shaking from the moment we park. She's like this with any groomer and also the vet. I don't think it's a very unique situation. However today they had my dog there for about 3.5 hours for her grooming. Now I can understand if the bath and haircut take a while. But today I dropped her off in the morning and later I had an another appointment I needed to get to. (Which I ended up rescheduling because of this, but it's not the end of the world) I had asked ahead of time for a guesstimate on how long it would take so I could plan my day. They said around 2 to 2.5 hours. I know it's only an estimate and no guarantee. So I left. And then decided to stop in after 3 hours cause my other appointment was soon and I figured they had to be close. Even if I had to wait for another 10-15 min while they finish up. When I got there, they were only halfway through her haircut. I could see her in the back on the table. Her body was mostly shaved but just like a first pass and her head was still untouched. So I left and waited for their call as I live nearby. But my issue isn't a long haircut. My issue is that my dog was sitting, terrified in a cage/pen/crate for hours before she was even started on. I had made an appointment. What is the point of making an appointment if she's going to be waiting so long? If you can't handle more than one dog at a time Just tell me to come at another time. I understand there will be a little bit of waiting. But I'd like her to be there for only as long as needed cause it's very stressful. My dog is close to 11 years old. When I finally got the call and picked her up. I asked them why it took so long. They told me they had an older dog that needed to be done first. Again, if they didn't have time to do her grooming at that point, then why accept the appointment? This now makes me wonder how many times they have made her sit and wait for hours before starting. I will likely shop around for somewhere new because of this. read more

The prices on their website are COMPLETE lies and need to be updated. I called to set up my appointment and for what should've been $60 for a "large" dog, he wanted to charge $60 for a small dog. When I told him about the prices on his website he refused to listen and just stated that those prices are old and I this was the new price. He had terrible customer service and had an attitude the whole time. Their sizing is also off. Typically a medium dog is 26-50lbs but their medium only goes up to 30lbs. My dog is 45lbs and he's not a large dog but according to their weird standards, he is. For how much they're charging, just take your pet elsewhere. read more

I took my dog in about a week ago. She is usually very slow to warm up but, when I picked her up, she seemed to be really happy! She came out calm instead of rushing out, like she does at places she doesn't like. She only had a bath, but came out like a new dog! I brought my larger golden retriever in for a shape up a few months back and was totally unsatisfied with the service here. I'm not normally picky but this is a place I will never go back to. The worker at the front made the pricing very confusing for me, and made it seem like I was the one at fault for having so many questions. I told him I just wanted a nice trim for his longer hairs, not a complete shave (obviously). The worker said "okay that's called a feather trim and costs 35 dollars". Made sense to me at the time. I was very nervous leaving my dog here, as it was a small rundown building next to a busy street and not many employees. But he was there for about 2 hours give or take. I went to pick him up when they called me, and I noticed no difference... My dog's longer straggly hairs were not taken care of and it looked as if they didn't cut anything. They did trim his longer hair off his arms but the job was so sloppy and so straight-cut. The worker at the front then goes on to tell me "that'll be $70" ... Im not exactly sure what for, but I was so fed up with that place, I paid them and left. (!!!) I took my dog home and I had noticed scratches and nicks on his stomach area, which made me mad enough to write this bad of a review. Just find somewhere else, there's many other dog grooming places in Burbank. read more

I have been bringing my dog Cookie here for about 3 and a half years now for a full grooming service. I always include teeth brushing and an occasional flee bath. Elvis and John have treated her with such great care with being attentive to her nervousness (she's a bit anxious) and being informative about what steps I can take as a pet owner to keep her as clean and mat-free as possible. When I let them know how I want to cut her, they repeat what I say and lightly inspect the pup before taking her back and getting started. Pricing is reasonable and they keep Cookie safe, alerting me when she's almost ready so I can be there right on time to pick her up. The are accommodating with time slots so you can usually get in the next day; sometimes same day. Located in a small plaza with parking but there is also plenty of street parking available. I could not be happier with the care that John and Elvis have always given my dogs! Right now I have a seven month old Yorkie named Louise. The care that they give my Louise is number one, number two is she is not there all day long, a few hours max! Number three John and Elvis are very accommodating to me, and I an appointment can be same day or maybe the next day, Louise is 3 pounds and usually just needs a bath and a trim, nothing to extreme! Save your money! Place was dirty and smelled bad walking in. Our puppy looked exactly the same when we picked him up. They charged $50 and all they did was give him a bath with a nail trimming. They said they would do the paws but nothing was different, still had long hair around his paws. For $10-15 more just go to Petco or somewhere else that will do bath, hair and nail trimming that will make your dog look like new and will actually treat your pet like it's their own! Of course owner responding with no sympathy or empathy which is exactly how they'll treat your pets. NO she did not ONLY ask you for under the paws. You would think when you are taking your pet in for a trimming/grooming, you would trim all his hair to make him looked "groomed". And to have under the paws be EXTRA is ridiculous! That should be included it the service. From what I heard, you also dropped our dog to the ground instead of being gentle with him. Again, go somewhere else that has all these "ad ons" be included in their price that's is only 10-15 more. You go into this business for the care and love of pets. But obviously you and this place is only for the business. read more

I brought my 4 month old puppy in for his first bath here recently, and my experience was great! The staff here are very friendly and informative. They made sure I was aware the whole process and that I felt comfortable leaving my puppy with them. My puppy was soo soft and fluffy when I picked him up! These guys were great! I brought my Yorkie last week, who was in dire need of a good bath and a small trim. There were 2 gentlemen at the front who were knowledgeable with my needs and wants for my pup. She's particular with her paws and getting her nails trimmed, so I warned them about her behavior when it comes to that since she's had issues at other groomers before. They mentioned they wouldn't charge if they couldn't get it done. 3 or so hours later, I picked her up. She was a bit on the fluffier side, something I wasn't used to yet, but they did great with the trim that I asked for, and even asked if they trimmed enough (even for sanitary) and went back to trim more even more when I was so-so. They also managed to get her nails trimmed the second time and even mentioned certain things to look out for when it came to her nails. One thing to keep in mind is it's cash-only, which is a bit inconvenient for folks like me who don't carry a whole lot of cash. So bring enough to tip as well. read more
