My dog was dropped off early in the morning. It took over 4 hours for her to be ready, and I had to call to check on her because it was taking so long. When I picked her up, my dog didn't have a good cut and she was breathing very heavily. I was informed that she was in that condition the entire time and was even told that she was having a hard time gasping for air. Why didn't they call me if they saw her having anxiety and breathing heavily? Why did they keep her this long in that condition? Why didn't they tell me when I called earlier to see if she is ready yet? Very dissapointed! I had to take her to urgent care. read more

If you care about your dog's pain and stress level, avoid this place. I sheared my mom's dog with a home pet grooming kit and she looked fine to me but she didn't look fine to my mom so she took her here to get her coat evened out. She spoke with the owner on the phone beforehand saying that she was already bald so the owner said she would give her a discount but when we picked up the dog, the owner wasn't there and the woman who did nothing but shear her again and put a handkerchief around her neck insisted on $50, the maximum amount, even though there was nothing to do except trim her face a little bit. The next problem was I wanted to get my dogs toenails clipped. There were two dogs getting their toenails clipped at the same time by separate women side-by-side. The dogs were yelping and fighting and obviously terrified but instead of these two geniuses doing one dog at a time, one holding and consoling the dog while the other trimmed the nails, they were fighting with them alone, twisting their arms painfully and squeezing them too hard. I even saw one of them yelling. Whenever she saw us watching, she took our dog into the back room and shut the door. If there's nothing to hide, why would she need to take the dog out of sight? I was about to go in and rescue the dog when she came out claiming that the dog was only yelping because it saw me and my daughters' watching. (Apparently, she considers herself a dog whisperer and knows what the dog was thinking.) All I know is they increased our and the other dog's anxiety a lot and probably hurt their shoulders and other joints fighting with them instead of both of them working on one dog at the same time to control the animals better and more humanely. These people obviously don't give a rat's behind about animals and are all about money. read more

I have been taking my shihtzu here for many years. Doggy World Grooming is the closest to my house and I am happy they are. Each and every time my dog comes out clean and smelling great. The owner Vilma does so much to take special care of my dog. My dog has bad skin allergies and in the summer time, she scratches like crazy and may get sore spots on her skin. Vilma always takes care of the sore spots and points them out to me so that I can be aware of them. In addition, they have a floor to ceiling window in the front of the store where you can actually see them grooming your dog! Great Service, Great Price, Friendly Staff.... As much as I would like & it's ashamed how polite the lady owner I believe she is seems to be but something ain't right especially after the last time I took my dog came back home stressed and he looked like he was in pain ???? Plus he smelled & looked like he didn't get no service done ,, Something must of happened because he sure was not like that before I dropped him off gets me thinking what exactly happened but no answer & approach stopped going , and plus pricing went up for what my dog has short no hair basically no haircut he gets just bath & nail trim the basic yes she's expensive as it is but as she's closer to me , yes I feel she changes the prices real quick on the mood she is in because I get it Inflation but last I took my dog was one price & 2 months after another price ?? I caught her in the lie . But it's alright we stopped going with her . Our dog was not happy and scared after that episode he came back traumatized & in pain for a day or two after that I don't know for what he never was like that to the extreme he was paranoid scared but thankfully he is back to normal , read more

BEST GROOMERS in the area!! I have taken my dog to multiple locations and no one cuts his hair as good as doggy world! They are consistent, my dog looks great each time. The staff are very polite and they have a huge glass window so you can watch what's going on on the inside. Love this place and have already recommended it to many of my friends. read more

At first I liked this place because Vilma was nice & it was a reasonable price($70). The second time I brought my dog she charged me $75, which I didn't understand why because she didn't do anything extra(not even clip his long nails), but I didn't question I just figured okay $5 extra it's not bad. Okay the 3rd time I brought my dog she charged me $90!! & her excuse was because he was hard to handle....I think that's ridiculous how she kept increasing the price. Anyways, I don't mind driving further to take him to a different spot that will charge me consistently & still get the same cut. read more

I have taken my dogs here twice and was disappointed. The first time my dogs were really clean and everything by they had my dogs for 6 hours. This visit was paid for by a friend who was trying to get me to start going there. The second time I brought them in for just a bath and ended up paying $75 because they apparently don't do "just baths". They didn't tell me the price in the first place and told me if I wanted to know then I need to ask. I think they should at least post their prices on their counter but the only prices posted are for extras like a flea bath. The lady was really rude to me about the whole thing. If there was a "no star" that is what I would give them. I read another review that talked of their dog's eye bulging out because of being held down so tightly at Vilma's while being groomed and being lucky not to have lost it completely. The same thing happened to my dog there as well . I noticed her totally blood-ball eyes on the way home from Vilma's and went straight to my vet who confirmed that it was a form of "strangulation". When I started taking my dog there I could easily groom her at home with absolutely no problem. But with each visit to Vilma's she became more and more aggressive in her behavior when I tried to brush her or touch her ears at home. The grooming I could once do with her at home I could no longer do because she had become dangerously self-defensive. I realized it was their treatment of her and I now have an aggressive dog that will bite even me when I attempt to brush or groom her in any way. They ruined her sweet temperament by traumatizing her! They also held my dog hostage. I would go to pick her up and they would up the price on her before they would release her. I tolerated that the first time, but the second time they pulled that (upping the price by $25--no small amount) I never returned basically because I had then realized they were mistreating her. Their illegal business practice of raising their price without notice also showed me the character of their business. They are in it for strictly the money and our animals are a means to that end for them. They could care less about them. I have found a wonderful groomer, and even though I now have to mildly sedate her before grooming (which I also started doing at Vilma's but she still came home upset and aggressive), my new groomer has no problem and my dog comes home happy and loving. Take your animals there and regret it. Rather, your animals will regret it. read more

I could only give them one star.. It actually took me awhile to finally write something about this grooming salon.. Vilma and her staff are nice, but I still find myself still upset with them.. I took my Pomeranian there last month, because I was told that this place was good. Normally I take my dog Happy to Petco.. but since they were so near by, I figure why not.. We dropped off Happy at 9am.. Didn't get a call to pick up my dog until 3:00-3:30.. while talking with Vilma, she let me know it was hard for them to groom Happy, but were able to do her nails.. Towards the end of our conversation she informed me that Happy stopped breathing a few times but then came to.. Which has never happened before.. I asked why didn't anyone call ? My friend called often to check if Happy was ready a few times and was told no, not yet..Why didn't anyone call me when Happy started to stop breathing or looking stressed. After picking up Happy, we noticed she would not eat or drink anything. That night she was going into what I thought was convulsions. All night I stayed up with her, then found out she was having seizures. Talking with a vet, he said it looked like maybe she was tied around her neck, maybe during her bath or something.. I called Petco where I rescued her from a yr and a half ago. Was told she was in perfect health. and never had any problems in her grooming . Having all her paperwork to prove it.. Made her an appointment that morning to see a vet, to try to help her.. Only been in Burbank for a yr, so I didn't know if there is a 24 hr vet or I would have taken her that night. That morning she seemed to be having more and more seizures, within a few hours, Happy past away.. I talked with 3 vets and 4 animal rescues places, which all told me to sue.. I don't want to sue anyone!! I just wished, if someone sees the dog going into stress, call the owner right away.. Maybe then I would still have Happy.. I'm upset that my grandkids witness her taking her last breath as I held her. As for Doggie World, all I got was, I don't know what happened.!! That does not comfort me or my grandkids.. I wish I could say something nice, but I can't.. read more

Wilma. You are awesome! My puppy always gets the best treatment with you. Been coming here for a while now. My dog gets a great cut the ears are handled with care. I went to a few groomers before that accidentally cut him when they tried to take care of his thin ear. He is salt and pepper but more light than dark. They are able to get his coat supper clean. I live in LA but I come here specially because they do a great job. I would only use them. Worth 5+ stars. They are reasonably priced and my dog loves them. read more

I will never take my bichon anywhere else. I've tried dozens of groomers and this is the only place that has done exactly what I wanted everytime. Vilma does a great bichon puppy cut. My 8 year old dog comes out looking like a show dog and gets compliments by other bichon owners all the time. Not only is Vilma talented but she treats the animals very well. I ran a little late picking him up one day and since he was the last client she let him run around the parlor. I never have to worry about her mistreating my dog. I have been going to Velma for almost 10 years now. I tried different places with lower prices, but I always come right back. This place is the BEST!!! The reason for taking my dogs to a different place was because I moved, and wasn't so close to Doggyworld anymore. But now I make the drive because it is worth it. The other place I took my dog to left her very damp, and when she got home I saw that she was shedding a lot. They didn't brush her properly. I don't have to worry about any of that with Velma at Doggyworld. They are the best!!! read more

I've been taking our golden retriever's to Doggy World for almost 10 years. They do exactly what I ask, my dogs always look great and I've never had a problem. I have never had a price raised on my upon picking up my dogs, they have never been cut or injured in any way. We have had 4 goldens, two are gone now from old age, and two more rescues. They always look perfect when they come home, whether we get puppy cuts for the summer or just a wash, trim, etc. These are the nicest people, very friendly and their prices are quite in line with the services. read more

I've taken my dog here 3 times and even though he's looked great, they've cut him each time! My dog has been known to not like it when they cut the hair on his ears and feet, so I told them that the first time I took him. After the first visit, they informed me that they cut his leg a little bit. They showed me where and explained what happened. I appreciated that because I know he isn't that easy to groom and it wasn't a big deal. After the second time, I noticed that he had red spots on his chest that looked like razor burn and then I saw a cut on his leg. They didn't tell me this time and again, it wasn't a big deal. This last time, I didn't notice anything until a few days later. I noticed him scratching near his ear a lot so I took a closer look and noticed a huge scab on his cheek! He's an apartment dog so I know he didn't get that from anywhere else. He's a Cocker Spaniel so I didn't notice the cut earlier cause his long ear covers it. Look, I know he isn't easy to groom, but they could've told me each time they cut him. Now I will be looking for an honest and safe place to get him groomed. read more
