First time leaving our puppy and the staff was not very friendly at drop off or pick up. They told us they would post on social media, but they never did. She did not eat all of her food (not a big deal as she was in an unfamiliar place) We brought her bed with her and we had to throw it away, as it had urine all over it. My dog small 6 lb dog was at the Katy location for 10 days. When I picked him up his hair on his ear was stuck in the taped collar that they put on him. Every time he moved, he flinched. I couldn't believe he went all this time having his hair pulled with each movement. How did they not see it and notice it? They supposedly spend time with your dog playing with them and take the dogs out to relieve themselves. I noticed the flinching the moment we got in the car. I was too upset to go back inside at that very moment! Also, when I picked him up, he smelled really bad. I had just given him a bath when he was dropped off. read more

We have been customers of Dog's Day Inn Katy since they opened. I have had several fosters as well as my own pups go to daycare there. They all loved it! I mention Daycare and my pup's ears instantly perk up and she runs to sit by the front door.. Ready to go play with her friends. The staff is warm and friendly and genuinely care about your animals. The couple of times there was any kind of issue (another pup was little rambunctious and barely nipped my pup), the staff alerted me immediately and issue was resolved. Pups play and accidents happen but it was nice to know that the staff was on top of things. Do not bring your beloved pet here to the Katy location . The women at the front desk are abusive! I am a long term customer. For years I have dropped my dog off before 9am for grooming and got him back by 2 or 230 pm. Today they kept him for 9 hours. When i went to pick him up i asked why it took so long 2 women at the front with terrible attitudes explained that people come in after i drop my dog off and they pay an extra $10 to be guaranteed a groom within an hour and a half. So my dog got pushed back 6 times. The women were rude and told me i could take my business elsewhere if i did not like this policy. I asked for their manager. They claimed she is on vacation. They would not give me the manager's name. I asked for their names and they refused to give me their names. So i took a picture of one of them. She began SCREAMING at me and called me a bit*ch. I told her this is no way to treat a customer. She lunged across the desk and tried to grab my phone calling me a bit*h again because i took a picture of her. I do not trust them with my dog since they are abusive to humans i cant imagine what these 2 women are capable of doing with animals when no one is watching. These 2 women need to be fired! I will never go back there. It is scary how volatile both of these women were. Its a shame because their groomers are excellent but i am afraid for my dog's safety there. BEWARE! read more

Very disappointed with this facility. They were supposed to take care of our two parakeets, but did a very poor job. We provided seeds, vegetable and news paper for the bottom of their cage and gave them instructions. After a week when my husband picked them up. Their cage wasn't clean and there were old vegetables on the bottom of the cage!!! The seed bag that we provided was barely used and they were so hungry when they came home since there wasn't any seed in their seed bowl just a bunch of old flakes. That's a shame that they didn't bother to replace their food and give them the vegetables that we provided. Instead they returned most of the vegetables. I called them to complain and spoke with two different people and nobody even bothered to follow up with me. Stay away from this facility. I don't trust them anymore. read more

My dogs always return happy and healthy after their stays. They've been there for period lasting up to almost 2 weeks at a time. They also get baths and smell and look amazing. I don't worry about them at all. It's nice to have peace of mind. I find the pricing reasonable and the staff very pleasant. They also accommodate for special diets and medications. read more

I wish I could give more stars but after my experience at pickup there is no way I could. The girl who was at the front was anything but personable which is not at all what I expected when picking up our golden retriever who is as much a child to us than our own kids. I asked how she (our golden) did while we were gone and all she said in a rude tone was "we didn't have problems with her". My family decided to give this place a try for our golden because a friend of ours sends her lab there for daycare. When I called to set up her 6 day stay I made sure she was in the best room with best play and asked if I could give payment over the phone to have on file. She said no that they don't take payment until she is picked up at the end of her stay. She never stated what type of payment they accepted or DID NOT accept. On the day of drop off I was not the one that dropped her off so I was NOT aware that they did not take AMEX. The only way I would have known is if I dropped her off and looked on the door to see that they in fact do not take AMEX. So today when I went to pick her up and presented my only CC my AMEX o was rudely told they did not accept. The girl at the front was so rude after my telling her I didn't have another card and then said "I will not give you your dog without payment". She then told me "to go get cash out....I let her know that I couldn't just go get that much cash out at this time and that I would be taking my dog no Matter what. She eventually allowed me to take her and my husband called to give them another form of payment. I will NEVER use this place again. When I'm dropping off my dog that is like a child to me I want to be greeted and treated by someone who is kind and has some kind of care in their demeanor. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE , left my 6 month old puppy to stay over the weekend, when I pick him up he was hurt from the left paw and scratch from the nose, he is sad maybe angry because I left him there for 2 nights. I really think they mistreat the animals, be very careful at that place, I don't care about their high cost but I don't want to see my pet nor any other animal mistreated. Really enjoyed it the first time we went, but it has declined. The second time he had a ton of fur that was just loose from his haircut. The third time his haircut wasn't even nor did it look good. I could leave my pets with any other boarding facility, but here I can be certain that my babies (3 cats, 1 dog) will be well taken care of. We all work so hard to make sure every pet receives the proper care, and, being a kennel tech at Dogs Day Inn, I make sure I take care of every animal in the facility as well as I take care of my own pets! read more

The prices here are pretty fair for grooming, and the staff is friendly. Make sure to give explicit directions, because one time my parents' dog got a really funky haircut. I must say that I am very disappointed with the grooming and most likely will not be using them again. I had my large, short hair dog get a bath and deshed. When I picked her up I immediately noticed that hair was coming off by the hand full. I asked and was told that they brushed her out but she would continue to lose hair for the next month? I took my dog home and brushed her out myself. I got three brushes full of loose hair and now she is fine and not shedding all over the place. There is no way that they properly brushed her out after the treatment and blow dry. NO WAY! Me second dog got a very short cut on her body, as requested, but I specified to make sure to comb out all the mats in her ears and tail leaving these areas long. The tail and ears still have mats in them. The people in the front are friendly but the grooming work left alot to be desired. Will be looking for a new groomer. read more

Let me just first say how amazing Terry, the dog trainer, is! Seriously he worked miracles! Yes it was hard to leave my pup for two weeks but so so worth it! My pup was already a year old and still had all the puppy tendencies so he needed lots of work. I highly recommend for training! You can tell Terry really cares about your dog and wants him to succeed and make your life easier with a well behaved dog. Also I could tell my dog really loved Terry. He had lots of respect for him. Really, Terry did such great work. And to top it off the training cost was very reasonable and worth every penny! My family and also use Dogs Day Inn for boarding and grooming. Giving one star for prices and another star because our dogs smelled nice and clean when we got them home. The girl at the front desk was sweet as well. We boarded our dogs here for a week while we went out of town. When they got home, they seemed pretty stressed. I know they were being held for baths the last day, but when my GSD got home she drank so much water she threw up - she's never done that before. All the dogs also had multiple bowel movements like they had been holding it forever. Also, the toys we left with them seemed untouched- the new bone was not chewed and the tennis ball looked brand new, so I know they didn't give them the toys we left for them the whole week. Makes me sad. I'll probably go back for grooming but not for boarding. read more

I will never take my dog back here again. This place just opened a few months ago and I was hesitant about taking my dog there to be groomed. It was recommended to me by friends who have boarded their dogs there. I took my dog there to be groomed and am disappointed and disgusted by the service and treatment of the staff there. My dog was dropped off on Monday morning for a bath, flea dip and hair cut and when picked up by my mother I was called and informed that she was covered COVERED in fleas. My mother took her back inside immediately and told them and one of the girls working the front desk responded at one point during the conversation "What do you want us to do about it?" and my mom left and took my dog home. I called and got a hold of Shawna the manager who was relatively nice over the phone. She tried to tell me that flea dips take a few days to kill fleas (true or not the amount of fleas on my dog were in-excusable)and that I could bring my dog back in a couple of weeks for a discounted flea dip. I was called again by my mother stating that my dog doesn't smell like nor does she feel like she's been bathed and doesn't smell like flea dip either. I call again and am told Shawna isn't there but that they will bathe my dog again for me. My mom took her back and the girl who was rude to her initially apologized for her behavior. When I picked up my dog they said that she indeed had a lot of fleas and apologized for the mishap and that they honestly didn't know if my dog had even been bathed the first time I brought her there. A day later after a flea dip and my dog has more fleas then she had when I took her the first time and I am now left wondering if they even dipped her. I called today to tell the manager (Shawna) that I would like to cancel my appointment for the additional flea dip and was ready to discuss with her as to why and why I won't be bringing my dog back and over the phone she sounded like I was bothering her and interrupting her day with my inquiry. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone ever. The people working there are all over the place and I don't even know if I got what I paid for. I am very disappointed, my dog probably has not been flea dipped and her hair cut looks absolutely terrible. I've heard good things about boarding pets there but I will NOT be bringing my pets there ever again. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! We just picked up our dogs (huskies) that stayed here for 3 nights and one of them looks like a homeless dog! Half his face is dirty with a brownish color like if it was a coffee stain. I called the place and was told that it was clay. They have clay outside and that's how he got dirty. They tried to get it all out but couldn't do it from one side of his face. My husky is white and now he has that brown stain in his face and paws! He looks terribly dirty, and smells bad even though they gave him a bath. What boarding place has clay outside where the dogs can get dirty??! Don't they supposed to have grass instead??! Both my huskies look very sad. It breaks my heart to see them like that. It seemed that they didn't have a good experience at all. Besides being dirty they're very very thirsty. Don't they leave their room/kennels with a bowl of water??? And by the way, They're short staff. They had only one girl taking care of this place this morning when my husband picked them up. I loved Dog's Day Inn! The staff was warm and welcoming. We felt comfortable leaving our little Pome and Yorkie in their care. The staff was concerned with the well being of our dogs by insuring they knew their eating regimen, their habits, and any other specifications we outlined to them. I have to say the 2 negative reviews I see here do not do this place justice, these folks have been great with my fur-baby. #1, Boarding prices are fair... any cheaper and you would have a cage with a hole in the back to go potty. Even their inexpensive I/O kennel is not remotely as described (check it out for yourself). #2, with regard to the flea-dip issues, the only thing I surmise is their dog was not on a flea preventative, otherwise they shouldn't have this problem. When you take an animal to a place where other dogs are boarded and bathed - you run that slight risk those jumpy pests will get back on an untreated animal. That is just my $0.02 in those reviews. My Experience: The staff has been friendly in every interaction. Even the kennel tech told me one time how much she enjoyed my girl. Every staff member has treated my dog and I kindly. She is a regular day care drop-off. I had never boarded a pet before and was nervous (and a little guilty) for doing so while I left the country for vacation. I am not a freaky pet owner, I may spoil my girl a little bit, but I still have "a dog is a dog" attitude also (let them be dogs is what I mean). I asked the 20 questions, they let me walk the property 2x before I decided to board my dog for 6 days... I was able to set up my dogs feeding and treat schedule, bring a (small) dog bed and a toy from home so she was comfortable - she was absolutely fine. When I came to pick her up, she came out tail wagging, not sure if she wanted to go back in or go home with me - this tells me she was treated fine and had a good time. I live in the neighborhood and try to bring my 1-2 times a week for day care to let her expend some energy. In my opinion, the prices for services rendered are in line and reasonable. They offer free 1st day for new visitors, without question. Bring your dog in for a bath, you get a free day of daycare (be sure your dog is on a flea preventative while in general pup population - just common sense). We have boarded our two dogs at Dogs Day Inn, Westgreen Blvd Katy multiple times over the last year and a half and had always been happy with them until this last visit. When we collected our dogs after a three and a half week stay we were told that one of them had been limping and holding up one of his back legs a lot but they thought he was just seeking attention and ignored it. We checked his leg as soon as we got him home and found a large lump and took his straight to our vet. We were told he had a bone tumor and was holding his leg up because it hurt too much to walk on it. No one at Dogs Day Inn thought to look at or feel his leg to check if there was a problem - the lump was too big to miss - and apparently he was bathed and dried without anyone noticing either. We left a lot of contact information - ours and our vets - so there is no excuse for leaving an animal in pain for 3 and a half weeks without any attention. He has now had to have his leg amputated because of this. When we went back to Dogs Day Inn to tell them what had happened the only response was "I am sorry". Sorry doesn't take away my dog's pain or give him back his leg. Earlier attention might have saved his leg. We will never go back there again. read more

Just got my boxer back from a week-long stay at Dogs Day Inn. He has lost 10% of his body weight,and he is not overweighted. I have boarded him before in other places and, and though he was a worse than usual water at those places as well, he did not lose nearly as much weight. I left with the staff his favorite food he ate at home. I did warn them that he would not eat food that he did not like but this was the one he has been munching on every day at home with great appetite. Just a day before boarding he was at the vet clinic and came back healthy and happy. He returned from this "resort" wth hair shedding like crazy and fleas (this must have been a part of the all-inclusive package). Worst of all I have not received a single call of concern during the entire week. Apparently starvation is not considered to be an issue by the staff of this establishment. And , yes, did I mention dehydration? Oh, no, why hydration would be important, specifically that I warned personnel when checking my dog in how picky he was about fresh water. Upon returning home his nose was dry and loss of coat was also likely related to dehydration. And guess what happens when dogs do not have enough hydration ? Yes, their appetite for food is not there. Thanks heaven our dog is back home. After we have bathed him he laid motionless on the rug. The. He ate a full blown of the same meal that the Inn returned to me, from the same bucket. He drank probably half a gallon of water in 6 hours Hope he did not contract any sickness from other dogs as his immune system must be very weak after basically a week of starvation and dehydration. Have to note that the staff is very friendly and the place does look clean in the lobby and outside play area. Make your conclusions but I am not going to that place ever again, even if they are the only place left with vacancies. read more

Amazing Place! I have been bringing my dogs here for day care for nearly two years now. I love them mostly because they love my dogs. The staff is incredibly sweet. nice, and overall thoughtful. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else! I highly recommend them for any type of boarding. I am surprised to see negative reviews on here. I have NEVER had a bad experience here. Sure, the staff may have a bad day, but I have never hesitated to leave my pets with them. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOG'S DAY INN PET RESORT (KATY LOCATION) AT ALL. I went to this place because my coworker told me great things about the Dog's Day Inn Pet Resort (Cypress Location) and she thought since it's a chain I will have the same great experience at (Katy Location), but NO. I dropped my dog completely healthy and happy for a 6 night's stay, when I went to pick him up 7 days later after a $300 charge. He had many cuts on his forehead and lost 10 lbs., nobody from this place called me during his stay to inform me of the situation or took him to the Vet to give him medical assistance on the cuts and the weight situation. When I picked him up neither the manager nor workers made ANY comment about him not eating or about the cuts. When I got back home and started checking him the same day, I called back to ask what happened? Why does he have cuts? Why does he look so skinny if his bag of food came back empty? where is the food?. Why you did not call me about this? And why did not you mention anything when I asked you today how did he do during check out? The answer was "I DON'T KNOW", so I paid $300 to these people to do what?? Most likely I paid for nothing since they did not care about my dog to the point of needing medical assistance and Dog's Day Inn did not take him to the Vet. He's a white dog and they did not notice the blood on his forehead neither the fact that he was not eating REALLY!!! I asked about the food and they told me if he does not eat we through away the food and give him a new one. SO YOU THREW AWAY A $80 BAG OF FOOD from a dog that is NOT EATING for the last days and you don't suppose to do something, ring a bell the word VET. That was the stupid answers I got from her and off course the excuse "you need to call back tomorrow Monday and talk to the manager , she is out on Sundays" I took my dog to the vet and they ran all the blood work and weighted him. He was 54 lbs. went he arrived to Dog's Day Inn Pet Resort and after 7 days he was 44 lbs. His lab results came back with high lever levels showing Hepatitis had been transmitted to my dog during his stay there. My coworker was so disappointment to recommend me this place and suggested me to follow up with a manager. I did not want to waste my time with such of IRRESPONSIBLE PERSONNEL AND POOR MANAGEMENT PLACE, but to give them the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to be HONEST I called them one more time with the information from the Vet. The Manager said "Apologies. I will get to the root of the situation and call you back" This situation happened back in Jan 22, 2016 and off course she did not call back as today March 10, 2016. It was my mistake not to read all the reviews before leaving my dog there. I use this place all the time for day care. They are always friendly and loving to my baby sparky. Sparky loves to spend his day here. The play area and pool area are very nice. Dog's Day Inn has been wonderful to me and my dog. I have a 1 year old golden doodle with LOTS of energy. Bonnie has been going there about 9 months and LOVES it. She gets SO excited when I tell her she is going to daycare. She gets to play and socialize with other dogs. I have also had her boarded and groomed there and was very happy. i brought my Dog here after i gave her the worst haircut possible. They very kindly took her in and bathed her, trimmed her nails, and fixed her haircut as much as could be fixed. My dog gets very nervous with new places but when i picked her up she acted very normal. My sister used to bring her dog to the doggy day care and said that she thinks there is no better place to bring your dog. They are amazing with the dogs and are great people, and the facility is very clean. The prices are very reasonable as well. When i bring my dog here i have no worries at all. DO NOT let employees make ANY excuse to go up WITHOUT you being present, so you can see what conditions your cat has been living in. In regards to all of the reviews saying their dog came home covered in fleas. That is something we have never even remotely experienced when picking up our dog. We boarded our dog here multiple times since they opened, and we are always happy with their services. The only negative to the place is the location will soon be bordered by a strip mall.
