They are CLOSED!? I was super annoyed. Does everyone who washes their own dog not work during the week or are kid free to come in the evenings? Sundays seem like an obvious day you'd get business. All that aside, I decided I'd give it another try this week. Voila, It's Saturday, here we came! Before we got within 20 feet of the door both my pup and I could hear the dogs tipping and barking. I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue, but we pressed on. (Maybe it was a super fun doggie dance party and they were all excited???) My girl started refusing to go in... again, I should have just turned around and called my groomer. Alas, I did not. When we opened the door we were warmly greeted by a woman who was smiling and kind but whom I could barely even hear over the obnoxious barking and high pitched squealing of almost a dozen mini yorkie and chihuahua puppies. It was NON-STOP. There was another chance where we could have just cut and run, but no. The woman was so nice and I'm a sucker for trying to not offend people, so I smiled and entered the little booth. The tubs are nice and it was pretty straight forward to go hi re out how to use the water sprayer. There's a little harness to keep the dogs from jumping around too much. I felt AWFUL for making my girl stick it out in there with all the noise. I, myself, had a hard time keeping my heartbeat regulated. The yipping was dizzying. There were two towels sitting on the gate that i used and a blow dryer that felt a bit hot but I think you could adjust it? There was no way I could have asked for help because we couldn't hear our own thoughts let alone instructions on how to use something LOL. The brush was wet and dirty from the last use. There was hair in it. Not a huge deal because it's a bit weird to use another dogs brush on your own dog, right? Or they should be clean. Anyway, I feel like it's important to note that all those dogs were NOT customers. As I was checking out I asked why they were there and said "it messed with the ambiance and experience for sure!" I was told they are the owners dogs she is trying to sell. Ha! I told her that I'm sure they could sell them faster if it was nice and quiet in there and they had a lovely wall of photos saying puppies for sale. So, that's it. My review. I hate leaving bad reviews and I'm not sure I'll go back to try and do a good follow up and add some stars: my pup and I were pretty traumatized by it all. Notes: nice lady Should be open Sundays Please clean the brushes? And for the love, it would be awesome to have more of a "spa" experience instead of feeling like we went to the puppy mill. I only took one picture since I just couldn't focus on anything else other than survival. Lol

He…read moreis 6 years old, 47 lbs, and has always been absolutely defiant when it comes to even touching his paws. His nails were getting pretty long, and the hair between his toes had grown out. I knew I needed to address this, but I was deathly afraid of traumatizing him. That's when I found FurReal groomers, less than 5 minutes away from my house. Aubrey was able to get me in right away. I dropped off my dog, and about 2 hours later she called me back to let him know that he was ready to be picked up. When I arrived back, Aubrey walked him out. He was sporting a bandana, a bowtie, and the most manicured paws I had seen on him since he had been anesthetized for his last teeth cleaning! She told me that he was not happy about having his nails clipped, but she still managed to get it done and was willing to work with him again in the future. The best part: even though I could tell he was not enthused about having had his feet messed with, he was not shaking or trembling. He had not been traumatized, so my biggest fear was avoided. For that, FurReal Groomers was worth every penny. If you have an anxious, stubborn dog, I truly believe they can work with you too. The other day I noticed he was itching more than normal and though it might have just been from rolling in grass so I brushed him and found several fleas on him. He gets flea medication monthly and the 9nky thing that has changed in his routine was the grooming session in mid July. ​​

They are seriously awesome!…read more We got our darling little chunky monkey, Yeti, on July 11th, and he immediately changed our world forever! He's a now utterly precious almost six month old Havanese (which is the sturdiest of the toy breeds, by the way), and, about a month ago, we knew that we needed to shop around for the perfect groomer for our little guy! We read that puppies with high maintenance grooming needs should be brought to the groomer very young to start getting socialized to the whole experience, so we started checking out different spots to find the one that we most trusted to begin this process with. Hubby and I, of course, scoured the Yelp reviews and began investigating the various highly-rated places around us in North Austin. We brought our then five pound baby along for the ride, and it wasn't until we stepped into Hair O' The Dog Grooming Salon that we knew, without a single solitary doubt, that this was the one! It was just the way that they lovingly grabbed him out of my arms and started showering him with kisses and cuddles! Everyone else had been so cold and matter of fact, but the ladies here were just so warm and enthusiastic, and Yeti was a happy little wiggle butt in all of their arms. Love at first sight, all the way around! They knew exactly what was needed, and they offered me a white board and marker to make communication with them a breeze! We scheduled his first puppy experience for that next Saturday at 9:30am, and they showed me the large kennel on the floor right by the action where they would let Yeti observe from at first. They encouraged me to bring his blankets, treats, and toys to deck out his space, so you know that I totally did! He came out of that first experience (just some very gentle maintenance grooming) so buttoned up and, most importantly, happy as a clam! They even sent me a picture of him in a zombie apocalypse, which was too adorable (see my pics). I threw it right up on social media, naturally! They then scheduled his first real cut for the next month, which is today, so here we are at home waiting for our little dumpling to be ready. The awesome ladies over there have been communicating regularly, and they just sent me his before picture! This review has already gotten ridiculously long, so I'll just leave you with this: I have zero nerves or fears about our precious puppy being in their hands right now, and that is HUGE. The energy there is beautiful, and this is one of those places that I would happily give more than five stars to, if I could! I'll pop the after pictures up when we get him. He always loved the groomers here and he comes back energetic like a weight is lifted off of him. When I moved to South Austin I tried a couple other groomers closer to me but didn't realize they used clippers and weren't doing a thorough job so his double coat got very compacted. We returned to this groomer and he is back to his old self. They did an amazing job deshedding him, got his fur feeling soft and fluffy again, and answered all my questions over text. It is so worth the drive and we don't intend to bring our dogs anywhere else again.

Boarded our 5 month old puppy here for 11 days. Action Pack went above and beyond our expectations. They responded to our emails quickly and regularly sent photos of our pup. When we returned, our pup was happy and healthy. We now bring him for daycare once a week. He is SO excited when we drop him off in the morning and is happy and tired when we pick him up. Highly recommend Action Pack! UPDATE: this was supposed to be posted 10 yrs ago! I rarely use Yelp and only hopped on today to find a technician and saw this in the drafts. Well for 10 yrs we've been bringing our now 65-pound "Tibby" here for weekly daycare, birthday parties back in the day, and periodic boarding, and Tibby is still squeals when we turn into the driveway!
