Great service from day one to the delivery. Took care of us right away and showed us the product before purchasing. This place has a variety of product from nails, trim, tools, and etc. What blew me away was the gentlemen who delivered my wood saw i was stressed out holding a bandage and baby yogurt in my hands for my daughter said "I see that you have your hands full I will take care of everything just point where you want it". He placed the lumber nicely stacked by my cameras on the side of my house and that to me made my day. Thank you to the staff and please folks support local businesses !

Anyone had experience with heavy smell of sliding closet door (wood, from this store) for months? I found the smell quite disturbing and was wondering if there's any toxic off gas. Thanks!

Hi J.L. The smell of fresh cut wood can be over whelming at times. But there are no toxic gases…

Chris did an excellent job guiding the project and making sure everything went smoothly throughout the process. The installation crew (Manny and Omar) were absolutely amazing, professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and incredibly clean. They worked hard, respected our home, and left everything spotless when the job was complete. If you're looking for a company that provides great communication, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend Cal Coast Window and Door.

We got an estimate from Andersen (less the storm door). Their products and installation method were top-notch, but so was their estimated price! So we wanted something more economical. After some research we heard Milgard windows using an "retrofit" installation would be more in our price range. We also wanted a window/door-installation company that gave us a good price estimate (1/3 the cost of Andersen), was in our locale (Tri-Valley) , and had 5-star rating already. So we were happy to find Cal Coast that met those criteria. The initial estimate process was straightforward. Our estimator was friendly and efficient. The format of the estimate came in digital PDF format. It was easy to print, and the details and layout were very helpful with diagrams of what the windows and door would look like with dimensions. One measurement for one window was slightly off. I mentioned that to my estimator. He assured me that was not a problem because if I accepted their estimate, then the next step was for another technician would come out to the house to re-measure the windows more accurately and in more detail. We did accept the estimate, and indeed another technician came out to do detailed measurements. Then we received a revised and more detailed contract in that same great layout! The estimator kindly set our expectations that our windows and door were going to take 5-6 weeks to custom manufacture and about 1 to 2 days to install. Those timings were right on target, which helped us in planning other events in our life. Installation only took 1 day! The crew was great - courteous, hard working, and efficient. They put foam insulation in the space between our window frames and the new windows. The caulking work was professional. I was pleased. And the crew cleaned up after themselves perfectly. Another thing I was pleased with was Cal Coast's production manager helped me apply and get my city building permit for the new windows. The day of installation, the foreman handed me a nice folder with the printed permit with other instructions. I really appreciated that. Also after installation she worked with my city building department to schedule a final inspection by a city inspector. When the inspector came out, because the product and installation were superb, it passed with no problem. Of course, I paid a little more to have this permit processing service, but it was well worth it. Finally, as you can tell from this rather long review, I'm very pleased with our experience with Cal Coast and the Milgard products. I add my 5-star review to others that have gone before me for Cal Coast!

In 2025, we decided to replace all the windows and the front door in the front of the house and wanted Marvin windows to match the front of the house. There are many window replacement companies out there that will build and install windows for you. However, we specifically wanted Marvin windows and we wanted to upgrade to the higher end Marvin windows as we had installed them in the back. Mark (the estimator) was very responsive and came out to measure and give us an estimate. We signed the contract and he said that we could expect installation in 3 months. Well, 3 months came and went and it seems our custom made windows from Marvin had some manufacturing issue and were delayed. Ok, so instead of a September installation, we were now we are expecting a December installation. It wasn't a big deal except that I had to restore my living room for Thanksgiving. This delay wasn't Window replacement Center issue, it was an issue with the Marvin manufacturing process. So, why am I giving a 5 star review. The installation was great. Oleg (sp?) was the lead installer and he did a wonderful job. My husband (a real DYI person and a perfectionist) even said that the workmanship was perfect. See attached pictures. They were here multiple days and left the rooms cleaner than when they started. Not a speck of dirt or dust was left. So, they only do new window replacement/installation. Meaning if you want a window where a wall exist, they don't do that. They don't fix existing windows (broken glass, old hardware). Mark did walk my husband through how to get a replacement part on another window were the hardware was rusted. They also don't do painting. You need to either paint it yourself on the inside or hire a painter to do this. Also, most of the installers speak very little English. We didn't find that to be an issue. If I had a question that they couldn't answer, they called Mark right away and we were able to work it out. The installers all came on time and there was even a day that I said they had to be done by 5 as we had a dinner engagement and they left when I wanted. Overall, this was a really good experience and I would hire them again to install any windows.

Great price, fast service. They took the time to make sure our new windows were up to fire code.read more

They needed to be replaced for the next century. I learned about Murph online last year and reached out. He came by in person to assess the windows and provide an estimate. He gave me a competitive estimate and added us to his queue. He was able to start sooner than expected, which was great. From the first day, his attention to detail and professionalism stood out. He works alone, keeps a spotless work area, is extremely punctual, communicates clearly, and is very thoughtful and considerate in the house. Murph works with a local woodworker who builds the windows using high quality wood, and the finished product is outstanding. These are true one for one reproductions of our originals and they look fantastic. The hardware is beautiful, the glass is significantly upgraded, very strong, and sound resistant, and the weatherproofing system he designed works incredibly well. The house feels warmer, quieter, and more solid than it ever has in the time I have lived here. They are beautiful to look at and the experience of living with them has deepened my appreciation for my home. Murph is a passionate craftsman and he stands by his work. He encouraged us to reach out anytime if something needs an adjustment. He offered to meet with our painters to walk them through best practices for painting the windows, which came primed, and plans to come back afterward to make sure everything was done correctly and that the weatherstripping is reinstalled the right way. He also restored our old front door and brought it back to life. Murph takes real pride in his craft and it shows. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone considering window restoration or replacement in an older home.

Murph replaced a large arched window, a double hung window, and converted two windows that previously did not open to casement windows for us. The later also uncovered some significant wood rot, which Murph excavated and repaired and it now looks brand new! With each window, Murph took the time to understand what it was we were looking for in terms of window operation and asethics, helping us to pick hardware colors and fittings. In true craftsman fashion, Murph is meticulous about his work. One reviewer commented on how Murph's recommendation for an expensive painter caught them off guard after having shelled out money for their windows, and I can see how this might be an unexpected additional expense, but I truly cannot imagine risking a basic paint job over these gorgeous windows. Murph is extremely thoughtful in who he works with, providing a list of companies he recommends from the get-go. The painters we had come after even commented on their regular partnership with Murph and the quality of his work. The windows Murph replaced for us are the pride and joy of our home and we have received so many compliments from friends and neighbors. In addition to the quality of work, Murph is also just a great human being. He was extremely thoughtful in his use of space during the project, used HEPA filters to keep dust to a minimum, cleaned up after himself every day, and even did thoughtful things like bringing in a package that got delivered while I was out of the house. It's a breath of fresh air to find a person you can trust with your home and I always felt at ease when Murph was around. I cannot recommend Murph enough and already look forward to working with him on future window projects.
