I do not recommend them at all. If your ONLY concern is Lowest Price, then this is the place for you. The job was to fabricate two shelves for our Main Bathroom. I selected a piece of quartz from their outdoor storage yard. I gave them exact dimensions for each piece and hole locations that were needed for one of the pieces. Both pieces were cut to within maybe 1/8" of what we showed on our fully dimensioned drawing. That included: hole diameters larger by 1/8", length off by 1/8", holes incorrectly located by up to 1/4". In addition, the cut edges were rough, sharp, and chipped in places. Really? You don't cut quartz and leave sharp chipped edges. Do you? Absolutely poor quality and absolutely below average work. read more

This is a small shop near Costco that has a limited selection but excellent prices. For countertops, they carry mostly quartz. For cabinets, all MDF. I came in on a weekday and there were several contractors waiting to pick up. Eventually I was able to talk to a salesperson who quoted me for a large bath vanity with quartz top. Importantly, they'll cut the stone and sink hole. You'll need your contractor or handyman to pick up and install. Total the quote was for $1400 (cabinet, quartz, and cutting). I ended up going with wood cabinets and natural stone and just the cutting and stone installation was ~$1000. read more

Quality is good, you are limited to sizes but then again price is a third of other places. All plywood box cabinets unlike MDF in many others. Choices may be limited but then again I'm looking for quality and functionality. Maria is the one behind the counter, she knows her shit. Simon is the owner, he thinks outside the box and will venture outside the mold. They are my cabinet and counters go place. I highly recommend their products and service. I've bought two pieces of granite for cabinets (different times) and each time they do a superb job. I am absolutely impressed at the reasonable prices they offer not only for their granite slabs but also for cutting and polishing (fabricating). Their turnaround time was also reasonable. I waited about 3 days for it to be completed. I have driven around the Bay Area and had no luck in finding many stores that fabricate. Even on Facebook marketplace, the independent person was charging more for fabrication than United Granite. These guys are wonderful! After shopping for granite or quartz counter tops all over the bay area, we finally tried United Granite. Their prices are excellent -- excellent! We were very happy to find granite we liked (because most options are essentially pre-made). The installers worked on site all day and things fit perfectly. We did not have them install back splashes. By the time we decided against tile (' cuz we could not find anything we liked) and wanted back splash, they didn't have any left. Ack! Maria came to the rescue and found one counter piece left that could be cut for back splash in our small kitchen. That was done and we're all set (I'll add photos later). I highly recommend these guys. I also want to share an opinion about their cabinets. Or, rather, any dark wood cabinets. Unless treated very carefully, the edges of these always acquire chips and scrapes. You can ask cabinet providers to add a thicker, stronger, more water-resistant finish...but that won't last forever, either. That's one reason why I prefer painted cabinets. Very disappointed in the dishonest and greedy owner. I am a property manager and have purchased granite counter tops several times from them and will be going to Granite Expo from now on - their prices and selection are better anyway. United Granite will lend you their metal A frames to carry the granite safely in your truck. I put down the $100 deposit. I returned the frame and was told by an employee that they would credit my CC later when the owner arrived. I never received the credit and returned months later to order more granite and she told me it was too late, that she would not give me the credit. I had the receipt but she said I had no proof that I returned it. She seemed content to keep my $100 and lose future sales. I don't get it. read more

I was very happy with the overall friendly customer service experience with United Granite and Cabinets from start to finish. Compared to Ikea, Home Depot the quality you get from this company is stellar for the price. There is a limited selection of cabinetry options, under 10, at the time I went. I got a solid wood, American Cherry cabinet doors, with plywood boxes, for much less than anywhere else. Custom made pull out trays for one lower cabinet. I love the glass fronts over the sink. I gave them general measurements so I could get a price estimate first, put down a deposit, and then they came out and took real measurements. The demolition took place in one day, then installation another, and the counter top was installed on a third day. The counter top I got is quartz and looks beautiful and was competitvely priced. All together, demolition, cabinets that were American Cherry front and real wood boxes, haul away all excess trash and the counters the total was a bit uner $6800. That price could not be beat and everything looks beautiful. The only hiccup was at the end of the job, they left off two doors to my cabinets for some reason and it took 1.5 weeks to bring them. Another frustration, they have no voice mail so sometimes I found myself calling all day long to get someone to answer. When you do get the staff, often Maria, on the phone, she is VERY helpful and responsive, as is Annie. They are low tech and prefer checks though I gave my initial deposit via credit card. read more

We were hesitant at first because there aren't many reviews here but we were told by Annie the owner they would not damage anything and the work would professionally done. It was exactly that. We had one bathroom counter done first to see the work. Loved it and the next day we got the other two bathroom counters done. The guys didn't speak much English but were super accommodating. Completely covered our hardwood floors. Made sure nothing was damaged. We chose quartz counters and love the work. We will be back for more remodeling as needed. I would not recommend buying anything from United Granite and Cabinets. The customer service is the worst I have ever encountered in any business. Awful Annie is the rudest, most inconsiderate person I have ever met. I bought over $1200 of quarts kitchen counter tops and a pre-cut vanity top. The pre-cut vanity top was stored partially covered in plastic, dirty, and taped up. My professional installer picked up the pieces and they were loaded on his truck by the staff at United Cabinet. There was no mention from the workers to uncover the counter top, clean the dirt, stains and tape and inspect it before loading it. I have pictures to show the condition that the pieces are stored, and the dirty half wrapped plastic and tape which makes it hard to see the condition of the piece until it is taken out cleaned up and examined. None of which I thought was necessary because the sales person and worker loading it did not mention that we had to check it before buying. The kitchen counter tops turned out nice and were cut and fitted perfectly the subcontractor working on the installation. The next day when he went to install the vanity, after taking off the plastic, cleaning off the stains, dirt and tape it was apparent that a dirty deep scratch had gone unnoticed by the worker who loaded the piece. We promptly took it back and asked to exchange it for another one that they had in stock. Unfortunately, Awful Annie very unpleasant and rudely started her ranting and raving accused us of trying to give back an item that we must have damaged because as she insisted, all their merchandise is perfect, and it is up to the customer to fully inspect it first. My installer explained how the scratch was unnoticed until he was able to clean the surface. It is pretty obvious the old dirty scratch was there when purchased, but the owners won't take ownership of their products and want to blame their clients and take their money any way they can. Terrible customer service. I should have known when I first encountered Awful Annie several months before when I asked her about the standard sizes and pricing of their cabinet line, so I could design the kitchen layout. She was so rude and condescending, saying in broken English "You have contractor tell you" What? I didn't even want to talk to her after that. Luckily, she stormed out to bother some other customer and Maria the only one there that seems to care about their customers was able to give me a list of the sizes of their cabinets and counters and approximate costs. If you do buy anything from this place, make sure you very carefully examine the condition of each piece and I recommend avoiding Annie like the plague. My contractor, after this experience, recommends not going here also. He would suggest: Art Tile in Richmond, Natural Stone in Berkeley, Dall Tile in San Leandro and maybe Granite expo. read more

We had our contractor take out our old countertop, do prep (including installing ply) and then put everything back afterwards. United came and did fabrication and installation onsite in a single day. The quality was excellent -- our contractor (who we have used for years and trust a great deal) was very impressed with the quality and finish. They were also extremely competitive in terms of price. Well, we finally got around to putting in the granite I'd talked about back in 2010! But it was just a few weeks ago, as we were readying it to sell! This time it was a $3400 job, but it was substantially larger and even went up the walls to the upper cabinets. We also used a really lovely granite. We had a short fuse - we put it on the market just 19 days after the tenants moved out. So they got right on it. In fact, they showed up several days before I expected them! But when I talked with the office and looked at my order I realized that they were right and I had it wrong! They went right to work...and did a beautiful job. Though it was boldly-pattered granite, the several seams were hard to spot. We put it on the market and sold it within a week, for substantially over the listing price! The granite didn't do all that - there were new carpets, paint, light and water fixtures, etc., which all helped. But I'd have to say that the new granite kitchen with undercounted sink was the biggest contributor to it's fast, excellent sale! Just one thing keeps me from giving them five stars this time: they quoted me $500 to take out the existing tile counters. I declined that...and my handyman did it in 2 1/2 hours, which included some drywall backsplash repair in one section. Their bid did include installing the plywood that the granite is then glued on to, however. One way of looking at that is that I saved almost $400, but i did leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Paying attention to the details was the lesson for me... That being said, the job was well done, it looked gorgeous...and the sale result speaks for itself! read more

****the worst customer service***** LONG REVIEW, but worth the read ***** After multiple trips to United Granite, I finally found the counter top I liked. My installation was scheduled for Tuesday, 10/31. I get a call on Monday 10/30 asking if I can postpone installation to Wednesday, 11/1, since two employees called in sick. I agreed, but Maria (the front desk lady) asked if I can come in and choose the style of granite Tuesday morning. She said the granite had rust marks on them and needed to be cleaned so a Wednesday installation worked best. On Tuesday morning, I get a call from the owner. The owner was asking me what time I was coming in and was rushing me to get there for a same day installation (on Tuesday). I asked her how that was possible if the granite (that I haven't even picked out) needed to be cleaned. I arrive Tuesday morning to the granite store, just to look at dirty, rusted granite that needed be cleaned. An employee told me to come back around 4pm to see the cleaned granite. I purchased a total of 3 pieces, and when I got back around 4pm, only 3 pieces were cleaned. What was I choosing from?! they gave me no other cleaned granite options but 3 in total. I complained to the owner that there was no point for me to come in in the morning if all I was looking at was dirty granite. He (the owner) didn't have a care in the world and told me to talk to Maria. At this point, I was already disappointment with their LACK of customer service, but still decided to proceed with the installation the next day. Wednesday morning I get a call from Maria stating that the truck they're using got into a car accident and installation couldn't be installed. Mind you, I have already taken 2 days off of work. I told her I couldn't take another day and that ALL of the other work being done to my house was getting pushed back because of this delay. I told her I wanted a refund. I came in to get a refund and spoke to the owner, all she wanted to do was give me an $80 discount. I declined. Basically, the owners have extremely poor customer service and pretend they cannot understand or speak English. I'm amazed that these people are still in business. I would NOT refer this company to anyone. If you want cheap material you'll get the cheap, classless, rude customer service, too! read more

The good = Cost, about 70% of Home Depot prices for the same type of stone. The bad = Color of granite delivered was way off what we requested. We knew granite varied but were told that what we would be receiving should be very close to the sample we were given (the color delivered still worked so we let this one pass). Seams were sloppy in spots. This was blamed on the walls not being plumb. They offered to fix the problems after much discussion. If the problem can be fixed wouldn't it be easier BEFORE the granite was glued down and before the customer had to complain. Job site clean up was minimal. When fixing the original work, two of our cats escaped. The workers had been told NOT to leave the doors open. We've had lots of contractors in our house for almost a year now and no problems. Two days and United Granite managed to lose two cats (they are still loose somewhere). read more

we got our granite there. competitive price (roughly the same as the major granite/warehouse outlets in oakland chinatown). and definitely much cheaper than the granite in home depot. the price of granite in home depot is calculated by square-feet but here it's by piece. (granites come in standard sizes.) overall speaking, you probably pay only 1/3 or 1/2 of what you would pay at home depot. (of course, home depot carries far more 'high-end' selection that is not offered in this store.) we also bought the kitchen stainless steel sinks there---good deal!! we compared prices with home depot and some warehouse stores in oakland chinatown. this store has the best price and quality! as for the cabinets....they're okay. but not very stylish. we found better quality elsewhere. oh,the owner can also help to design and install new cabinets---but watch out for the extra costs. for example: --demolish old cabinets --haul away old cabinets --put wood boards below granite --revamp electrical outlets --install garbarator --hook up dish washer --drill holes on the granite (for faucets) all these can add hundreds or even thousands of dollars to the price tag. you really have to press for details or else you will be over-budget. read more

They just finished the install of my granite. One of my original pieces had been broken and I ran to United Granite to selelct new pieces. Originally I wanted a 10 foot piece, a 9 foot piece, and the 3 ft x 36 inch peninsula. Since I selected granite that came in 10 foot slabs, they didn't charge me for the second 10 foot they needed to do the 9 foot side. I had those extra inches and rapidly filled it with a bigger cabinet. No extra charge. The installers came today and did a fantastic and perfect install. They notched around a decorative trim, did a perfect mitre, and the fit the pieces wonderfully. I couldn't be happier. Maria in the office was a great help. Simon helped me select my first choices and knew a lot about how to match granite After the breakage, Martine and Maria helped me select my second set of stone. I call it a happy accident that the first selection was broken. The stone I ended up with is so beautiful! read more

This is a great place to buy granite for a bathroom or kitchen countertop. They offer delivery and installation but I have only bought the rock at the store and taken care of the rest (including delivery) with contractors. With that model the prices are reasonable and the selection excellent. They have 8',9' and 10' slabs on sale, many matched with back-splashes. read more

The cabinets and counter top were fine until the hinge broke on one of the cabinets. It's a special hinge. I went down to store (luckily I don't live too far away.) They said they don't use that type of hinge anymore. Sorry. I called to ask who makes the hinge. They said to call back when the boss was in. They couldn't take a message. I called the next day. They said to come in with the hinge. The boss looked at the hinge gave me the name of the company and said they don't sell the hinge individually. He suggested using a washer to make the hinge work. read more
