I'm with Suzanne V. I purchased a Groupon to try out a new procedure and I'm really excited that they offer it but no one seems to know what's going on besides the owner. I was told by 3 different people that the owner would call but I've not gotten a call yet. They seem to do okay with regular paying customers. Is anyone else who used a Groupon having the same issue??? I hope I like this experience once they do call. Again, as Suzanne said, I'm requesting a refund if they don't. read more

It's true, I also had my appointment rescheduled at the request of the salon, but honestly, the service I got while I was there MORE than made up for the slight scheduling gaffe. And here's what it boils down to: Anthony is an artist. He gave me, quite literally, the best color of my life. I purchased the Groupon for partial highlights and a cut, and made it to my rescheduled appointment on a Saturday. I explained to Anthony that I wanted extremely natural, thin, sparse highlights, and a trim and reshaping. "No skunk streaks!!" I begged. Man did he deliver. He applied the highlights, rocked the shampoo and massage, and then started blowing out my hair. He'd advised early on he planned to cut me dry. I was highly skeptical, but let him do his thing. As he blew out the sections, the strands started to shine and revealed gorgeous, subtle, sparkling highlights. The dry cut was one of the most enjoyable cuts I've ever experienced: with each slice and snip, I could watch my hair would bounce into a fresh, beautiful new shape. Could they improve their scheduling process? Yes, but I can't warrant knocking a star off for that. Hands-down the best highlights I've ever gotten in the years I've been at it, and darn close to one of the best cuts. Highly recommended. read more

I had a Travelzoo groupon for a mani-pedi. When I called to schedule, the lady said they had no available appointments that week. However, there were multiple appointments online for the very next day. Why didn't she tell me to check the online calendar? Too many businesses take your money for groupons then make it difficult to redeem the service. Not a good sign... So I get there at 10:30am and the place is locked. The aesthetician arrived 5 minutes later and said she was locked out, waiting for someone to come and bring her the key, etc. When the person with the key arrived (owner? manager? She never introduced herself), she did not apologize once for the glitch or misunderstanding. Not cool, Dolce Salon, not cool. She also proceeded to fix her hair and makeup as we got set up, so she was obviously just getting started for her day without regard to the schedule, whether it was her fault or not, someone should take responsibility to give the illusion of professionalism. The other reviewers who said the place is clean are obviously employees or other biased reviewers, or they are blind. It wasn't filthy but it wasn't clean: lots of clutter in the rear of the salon near bathrooms and changing rooms, counters where I got the manicure needed a good wipedown to get rid of the hairs, stray nail clippings, etc. Bottles needed to be wiped off, but the aesthetician's tools seemed recently sanitized. The pedicure itself was a highlight and the skill and personality of the aesthetician were what saved the visit. I hadn't had a pedicure in 2 months and she took care of business! Very gentle, skilled, and an interesting nice mom to have a conversation with about kids, etc. professional, as well, apologetic for the lockout delay, even though the other person with the key was not. The chair wasn't too recent or comfy, however. About Faces (another local spa) pedicure chairs recline, massage, etc. Also no offer of water or tea, and no wifi. Things were basic for the same price as other places which offer all those extra comforts. Why? If most of the fee goes to the aesthetician, I would become a regular, but I was very put off by the lockout, the clutter, and the lack of comfy amenities that make you want to treat yourself to a spa treatment. Groupons are meant to broaden your client base, so unless you are ready to handle it professionally, stick to the clients you can handle, not more. Kudos to Kenya, the aesthetician! read more

Cute, clean little salon in the middle of Little Italy. I went there with a groupon for a haircut and blowdry and was able to make an appointment with one of their main stylists. Even though her previous client was late and she asked me to come a little later than my appointment time, she took me right away when I showed up. My hair is long and thick, so I appreciated that the stylist was able to give my hair some body and shape without losing a ton of length. The regular price for haircuts start at $50, which is a little high, but typical of nicer salons. However, I think I was a little surprised at the price point because the salon itself is pretty small, but the service was good so I think it would be worth it in the future. I also bought the groupon for a massage and manicure, so we will see how those services go; but overall, a very nice experience! read more

If I don't hear back today, I will cancel my Groupon and get a refund. Very poor customer service. read more

New to Baltimore - found this salon on Groupon (although I didnt actually get the deal. Anthony gave me an amazing cut!!! The price was $40, which is very reasonable for me because I have VERY long hair. I am usually the kind of person who hates to get my haircut because they always cut off more than I want, but he actually cut LESS than we originally agreed, blew it out in NO TIME and did an AMAZING job!!! I've never been so happy with a cut in my life. Not to mention Anthony is fun to talk to!! Great personality and its clear he loves what he does! Thats probably why he is so good at it... I read all the comments below about poor customer service. I booked the appointment just this morning so figured they wouldn't be able to cancel on me. When I arrived, I was told that the person who was supposed to cut my hair didn't show up, but if I didn't mind waiting, Anthony said he would take care of me as soon as he was finished with his current customer. I wasn't in a rush so I said OK. I only waited about thirty minutes and honestly, after the amazing cut, I'm really not bothered by it at all. I would rather wait thirty minutes to get a great haircut than go somewhere and have someone do a half asked job. Make sure to bring some cash because they don't let you leave gratuity on credit cards. read more

My review is for ATTEMPTING an appointment. An effort in which Dolce failed miserably. I booked a manicure online while I was in town on business. I received two text confirmations and two email confirmations. 20 mins before my appointment I received a text telling me the manicurist I booked does not work on Tuesdays. What? So, shouldn't they fix that little glitch? My appt was for 7:00 PM, too late to go elsewhere. They never answered their phone or outreached me to apologize for the gaffe. They need to get it together. They're in an area with lots of business travelers. They won't last long with this business model. read more

Worst customer service ever!!! They cancelled my appointment without telling me. I made the appointment 3 weeks in advance, the day before i was suppose to go out of town for a big event. When I showed up for the appointment, the very rude receptionist acted like I was crazy and was unhelpful about the situation. After asking him 4-5 times to get a manager, he finally rolled his eyes and got her. The manager couldn't help us so they had the owner call. We found out that the owner was the one who cancelled the appointment. She was extremely rude and non accommodating. We will not attempt to reschedule with such a horrible business, even though we've already prepaid with a groupon. read more

Purchased a Living Social voucher a month ago, and used their website this past Monday to book my appointment for Friday. Received multiple e-mail confirmations, and kept my afternoon open to allow time to FINALLY go get a haircut. Then 3 hours before my appointment today, I get a call from the stylist, who tells me that they've got new management as part of some merge with another salon, and they won't be honoring the vouchers. Living Social, when contacted, said the only reason they were aware of the problem was due to my call, and a call from another customer. And while they say they are happy to process a refund, they still have to talk to the salon to find out what's going on first. Poor customer service--if this has to be the situation for whatever reason, could you not have notified me, oh, maybe even just a day in advance? Now not only do I need wait for a refund, but I also have to try to find another salon (because goodness knows I won't be using this one), book another appointment, and wait even longer to have the haircut I was so looking forward to. read more

I agree with the other reviewers that the customer service can be improved. I made an appointment in advance, but the night before the appointment, I got an automated e-mail saying that it was rescheduled. I called to ask what was going on, and I was told that my appointment was moved to accommodate another client - and they didn't even call me to ask me! I found that unprofessional and insulting. The service itself was fine, but I'm not comfortable scheduling another appointment with them if they're just going to change it last minute - I don't have the kind of schedule where people can just move my appointments around without checking! read more
