Gelato is still good but the vibe is certainly not the same since it was sold. I'll have to find a new place for a sweet treat this summer!

MUST TRY: Akhbar Mishti flavor…read more Ambience: Spacious seating area with a screen showing FIFA matches. Flavors: Lots of options, including some unique flavors. Price: Comparable to other popular ice cream places. Taste: Absolutely loved it! I've been to their other locations before, but this time I tried the Akhbar Mishti flavor, and it was amazing! It was loaded with nuts, making every bite rich and flavorful. The single scoop was surprisingly generous too. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend trying this flavor. I'd definitely go back for it!

Came here after dinner for some dessert. Did you know you can get two different flavors in a single…read morescoop? That's what the sign said, so the lovely young ladies I was dining with, each decided to get a single scoop made of 2 flavors. One of them opted to have 2 flavors on a cone and the other got 2 flavors in a cup. For some reason, the 2 flavors on the cone were much larger than the cup. Same deal, same price...but I kid you not, the two flavored single scoop in the cup was much smaller than the one on the cone. If you're a bang for your buck kinda person, you might pay heed to this and opt for the cone from here on out. If you're like me though, you'll still choose the cup no matter what. I always find that ice cream cones make just make me too full and then they also make me thirsty so that I feel like I want a drink afterwards. Of course...if I'm in a situation where the ice cream comes on a cone by default (for example, a free ice cream after hot pot), I will eat the cone without any complaints. Given the choice though, I always prefer my ice cream in a cup. Easier to eat with a spoon than having to bite into it on a cone, doesn't overfill me and doesn't make me thirsty. As it turns out though, I did not get ice cream in a cup or cone this time. I treated the two young ladies to their ice cream, and I had planned on using my bday freebie to get my own ice cream in a cup. I made a discovery this year though. First of all, the bday freebie isn't really a freebie anymore. It's a discount. They give you $5 off. Also, it doesn't apply to getting ice cream scooped for you on the spot. It only applies to pints of ice cream, and you have to place the order through the app. So basically, you're being forced to buy a pint of ice cream and take it home. Not as great a deal if you ask me, cuz it's one of those situations where you're being forced to spend money in order to save money. I still went for it this time, and ordered myself a pint of Blueberry Honey Lavender. Drove back to my mom's house as soon as I could and scooped some into a bowl. It's a lovely flavor, but unless they bring back the bday offer that lets me enjoy a free scoop of gelato in a cup, I think I'll be passing on the Dolce Amore bday offer from now on.

A friend recommended this place and I'm SO glad I followed through and went! I've gone every morning the last 5 days and my Americano has been perfection! On top of that I've discovered their cheddar scones. I've been to several bakeries around town and these are the best. I've mostly had cheddar and herb and today there was a cheddar and green onion which is now my favourite. I also had a cheddar apple which I didn't love as much... Plus ALL the baristas have been lovely and put up with how interactive I tend to be. So thank you for making what could be a sad commute much more pleasant! I will miss this place when I go home!!

There are some nice seating options near the fireplace, which can feel pretty cozy. An OK place if you want a quick fix, but not if you want decent coffee. The espresso drinks themselves are pretty watery and under extracted, from my experience.

The fellow behind the counter works hard and probably owns the joint. The food is good but nothing to write home about but it's fresh and cheaper than the stand inside the Quay. Staying at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel has the benefit of being connected to an international market…read more While perusing the selections, I discovered a crepe shop and decided that would be the best option for breakfast. I ordered the Nutella crepe with bananas for myself and the Nutella crepe with strawberries and ice cream for my husband. The cook dedicated thoughtful preparation to making the crepes, but it took 15-20 minutes and with an impending hotel checkout, it is not the best option for a quick breakfast. To the chef's defense, I'd rather have him take awhile than slop something together. Crepes are meant to be savored. However, the timeliness resulted in crispness and the crepes were difficult to cut through with the plastic utensils and plate provided. The overall taste was fair. As I watched the preparations, I was disappointed to see the final product topped with Smuckers brand chocolate. Higher quality ingredients would do a crepe good. Sadly, I allowed this place to charge an extra $5 in the currency exchange. I attributed it to tax and a tip, but in the end, two crepes with fruit (and one with three little scoops of ice cream) should not have cost $25 CAD. Be conscious of conversion rates ahead of time and allow at least a half hour - 45 minutes to eat if you're going to come here.
