Since Cobblestone opened, I have been there several times. I've had the Spiced Chai French Toast, which was delicious, as well as their cappuccino, Orange Cardamom Latte, and Masala Chai. Everything has been excellent, and the service has been friendly and fantastic. Get thee to Cobblestone! Trust me, the hype is real!! Taj has an excellent reputation around these parts, and for great reason - their authentic Indian cuisine is arguably the best in the area, and this new venture of theirs into cafe/coffeeshop is an absolute triumph! I came just a week or two after their grand opening. At 8:30am on a Friday morning, the place was getting packed. You can head straight to the counter for to-go orders, or find a spot to sit and a server will take care of you. I chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful day. My server came quickly and was super nice, giving recommendations when I was crestfallen that the breakfast burrito was out of stock. No matter, she assured me, the avocado toast is wonderful. That was an understatement. It is the best avocado toast I've ever had. The sourdough is thick, fluffy, tangy, amazing. The egg on top must be farm fresh because the yolk was bright orange and perfectly runny. The rest of the toppings were mind-blowingly tasty, I have no words for how unique the flavors were - like a party on a plate. I couldn't stop eating it. For a beverage, I opted for the orange cardamom latte. I've been trying to avoid dairy, and I so appreciated the offer to switch to oat milk instead. One sip of this baby and my eyes rolled back - how is this so delicious?? Not cloyingly sweet, but rich and packed with flavor. The cardamom and orange play so well with each other, it's a match made in heaven! The pastries here look beautiful and delicious. I can't wait to try to breakfast burrito, as it is allegedly made with house-made paratha instead of a tortilla. The menu is so thoughtful and unique, you can tell it was made with great care. The space itself is modern but welcoming, and the care is shown in little touches like the layout of the restrooms. It's a space that says - come in. It's nice to see you. Stay while, will you? Visited on a Tuesday around 10:30am, hoping to get some food. When I asked if they had food, I was disappointed to hear the kitchen is only open on weekends. I was intrigued by the drink menu and ultimately got an iced pistachio latte. It was delicious with a very natural pistachio flavor, not sweet fake pistachio, iykyk. I wasn't asked what size I wanted so I assumed there was only 1 but I see in the menu photo there is 2 sizes. I got the smaller of the 2 for $6. I thought I saw they didn't take tips but the payment screen definitely had the tip prompt, and I left one. The space has a simple, clean aesthetic with natural wood and black color scheme. They even have outdoor seating, which doesn't seem like it exists in the mall area of South Portland. It works though because Cobblestone is set back a bit from the main road. Tons of parking, although it seemed like crews were working to fill some of the huge potholes so there were construction type vehicles, cones, etc throughout the parking lot. So nice to have non chain businesses moving into the mall part of South Portland. Will definitely be back to try the food and maybe an ube latte. One other thing is the milk choice is whole or oat for lattes. read more

WOW! Had a fantastic experience visiting Cobblestone Coffee for brunch. If you have lived in Southern Maine for any period of time you have likely been to or at least heard of Taj Indian Cuisine as well as their newer business in the Old Port, Silver Street Bar. This is the newest business opened by Sai and his family and actually located where Taj originally was located. A couple more fun facts about Cobblestone would be, firstly they partnered with local coffee roaster Tandem to source single origin beans from Indian for an exclusive roast just for Cobblestone! Secondly all proceeds from Cobblestone will help support Taj's free food program. Currently their pastries and brunch service are limited to Thursday through Sunday and their first week open sold out extremely fast. We showed up right when brunch service started and it did not take long for the crowd to show up. The inside is beautifully designed with good amount of seating including quite a bit outside. Service was friendly and all the staff were working hard. Drink wise to start I had their hot orange cardamom latte and it came out perfect drinking temperature and had so much flavor. My wife got their blueberry matcha and thought it was fantastic! Food wise I got their breakfast burrito and my wife got the Chai Spiced French Toast. The burrito will remind you of other breakfast burritos but the use of the coriander-mint and tomato chutneys give it such a unique flare unlike anything offered in the area. The Chai French Toast was mind-blowing and such a tasty and complex dish! A must try dish if you come for brunch. Lastly to get the full experience we ordered two pastries to go. We grabbed Chai Palmier as well as a Pistachio & White Chocolate Croissant. A very memorable and exceptional brunch I gladly look forward to coming back to try even more. Our first visit to Cobblestone Coffee & Co. was on day two after they opened, and while they had completely sold out of all the food, we couldn't even be disappointed. The place was buzzing, and after one sip of the pistachio latte, we understood why. It was so good that it held us over while we pivoted to their sister restaurant, Taj Indian Cuisine, for dinner... which ended up becoming one of our new favorite spots. We knew we'd be back to Cobblestone for the food, and brunch absolutely lived up to the hype. This time I ordered the orange cardamom latte, and I think it may have stolen the top spot from the pistachio. It's warm, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. The café itself is bright, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio. The service was just as impressive. As soon as we walked in, someone greeted us and directed us exactly where to go depending on whether we were dining in or grabbing something to go. It's a small touch, but it made everything feel seamless. The Indian omelette was light, fresh, and full of savory masala flavor. My husband's breakfast burrito was enormous, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say it was just as good. Our server mentioned they regularly sell out and that the tortillas are always made fresh, and after seeing that burrito, I completely believe it. Between Cobblestone and Taj, this restaurant family has quickly become one of our favorite discoveries in South Portland. We'll happily keep making our way through both menus. read more

We stopped here for a latte. The latte was very good, service was good, the setting is beautiful inside nice and clean and spacious.

Arrived around 9 on a Saturday morning. The wait for food was fine, although there was only 1 barista so our drinks took longer than expected. Even so, excellent drinks -- I enjoyed my ube latte with oat milk -- and food. Loved my avocado toast, which was elevated by the mint chutney and chaat on crusty bread. Table service is a nice touch, although a little confusing to tell how things work upon ordering at the counter. read more

Went on a Sunday morning around 9 and it was busy but the employees flowed very well that no one was waiting long. We had the option to dine in or take out and chose take out because we had somewhere to be. If we didn't, we definitely would have opted to sit inside or outside! Environment was clean and welcoming! We had a regular iced coffee, iced pistachio latte, a banana bread loaf and a croissant bacon egg & cheese. All of it was delicious! Highly recommend! read more

Woman who help take our order was exceptional engaging, friendly knowledgeable and made us feel welcome like friends. We sat outside with our friends and our dog which was a great way to enjoy this spot. I had the burrito with spicy sausage, which had loads of avocado, egg and potato's a very tasty and filling option. I also ordered the chai palmier just to try the pastries which was delicious and crispy, mango pastry to take home also excellent. They have nice Indian twist on general breakfast options which makes this place stand out. Regular coffee not to my wife's taste, but my cardamon latte was very good. Ample parking also a plus. Good coffee but not sure if I would return. I enjoyed their orange and cardamom latte, but it was a bit watery and expensive for so much ice. Also, they do not advertise anywhere that their scratch kitchen only operates the second half of the week. After driving 30 mins there, I heard another customer ask the same thing. If it's such a common problem they should resolve it instead of being so confusing. Overall good friendly employees and okay coffee. read more

Wanted to really like this place but they need to work on their service and kitchen flow. Waited over an hour to get food out. Coffees were good, great looking menu and pricing was reasonable. While Wait staff and management were polite, a periodic check-in, explanation or maybe an apology?? for why we're still waiting for our food would have been appreciated and professional. Instead, they tried to avoid any eye contact and left us to guess for ourselves if we would eat before they closed. And place wasn't fully packed either. When the first dish finally arrived at our table an hour after ordering, it was another 20-25min before the rest of party got their food. The coffee menu is worth going back for but will wait a bit until their kitchen-restaurant side catches up. Update: Noticed on my text receipt after I got home that they casually helped themselves to a 3% Kitchen gratuity added to my bill with a separate gratuity line that I added in.
