WOW! Had a fantastic experience visiting Cobblestone Coffee for brunch. If you have lived in Southern Maine for any period of time you have likely been to or at least heard of Taj Indian Cuisine as well as their newer business in the Old Port, Silver Street Bar. This is the newest business opened by Sai and his family and actually located where Taj originally was located. A couple more fun facts about Cobblestone would be, firstly they partnered with local coffee roaster Tandem to source single origin beans from Indian for an exclusive roast just for Cobblestone! Secondly all proceeds from Cobblestone will help support Taj's free food program. Currently their pastries and brunch service are limited to Thursday through Sunday and their first week open sold out extremely fast. We showed up right when brunch service started and it did not take long for the crowd to show up. The inside is beautifully designed with good amount of seating including quite a bit outside. Service was friendly and all the staff were working hard. Drink wise to start I had their hot orange cardamom latte and it came out perfect drinking temperature and had so much flavor. My wife got their blueberry matcha and thought it was fantastic! Food wise I got their breakfast burrito and my wife got the Chai Spiced French Toast. The burrito will remind you of other breakfast burritos but the use of the coriander-mint and tomato chutneys give it such a unique flare unlike anything offered in the area. The Chai French Toast was mind-blowing and such a tasty and complex dish! A must try dish if you come for brunch. Lastly to get the full experience we ordered two pastries to go. We grabbed Chai Palmier as well as a Pistachio & White Chocolate Croissant. A very memorable and exceptional brunch I gladly look forward to coming back to try even more. Coffee and food worth making a trip for!

Our first visit to Cobblestone Coffee & Co. was on day two after they opened, and while they had completely sold out of all the food, we couldn't even be disappointed. The place was buzzing, and after one sip of the pistachio latte, we understood why. It was so good that it held us over while we pivoted to their sister restaurant, Taj Indian Cuisine, for dinner... which ended up becoming one of our new favorite spots. We knew we'd be back to Cobblestone for the food, and brunch absolutely lived up to the hype. This time I ordered the orange cardamom latte, and I think it may have stolen the top spot from the pistachio. It's warm, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. The café itself is bright, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio. The service was just as impressive. As soon as we walked in, someone greeted us and directed us exactly where to go depending on whether we were dining in or grabbing something to go. It's a small touch, but it made everything feel seamless. The Indian omelette was light, fresh, and full of savory masala flavor. My husband's breakfast burrito was enormous, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say it was just as good. Our server mentioned they regularly sell out and that the tortillas are always made fresh, and after seeing that burrito, I completely believe it. Between Cobblestone and Taj, this restaurant family has quickly become one of our favorite discoveries in South Portland. We'll happily keep making our way through both menus.

Went on a Sunday morning around 9 and it was busy but the employees flowed very well that no one was waiting long. We had the option to dine in or take out and chose take out because we had somewhere to be. If we didn't, we definitely would have opted to sit inside or outside! Environment was clean and welcoming! We had a regular iced coffee, iced pistachio latte, a banana bread loaf and a croissant bacon egg & cheese. All of it was delicious! Highly recommend!

Such a cute coffee/breakfast stop!…read more Drinks: They have lots of creative drinks. I got the blueberry matcha, which was a little too milky for me and didn't have a strong matcha taste. It was alright, but I probably wouldn't get it again. I do appreciate that they have simple syrup and honey syrup out so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. Food: Plenty of vegan options, and they even have vegan eggs available for a small upcharge. I got the habanero ham biscuit sandwich. The biscuit was flaky, with ham and cheese, and the habanero ham had a pretty good kick that really hit by the end! Good portion size and tasty. They also have donuts, smoothies, and plenty of other options, so there's something for everyone. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Garden Sprout ($9), a breakfast bagel sandwich with veggie sandwich, tomato, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, and vegan chive cream cheese on a choice of bagel. Luckily, it only took 20 minutes for the bagel to come out. The sausage was overcooked, to the point of being almost charred, but still tasty; the cream cheese--if it was that--seemed more like excessive butter (there was a pool of butter-like substance underneath). But other than that, the food was decent. I appreciate the vegan option, notwithstanding the aforementioned aspects that could be improved.

We decided to come here for coffee and snacks before heading to the park for the morning with our toddler. We arrived around 9:30am and must've gotten lucky bc we walked right up to the bar and were helped by a super friendly gal and ordered coffees, a few pastries from their display case (I got a huge chocolate chip cookie cup stuffed with Nutella for later) and my husband ordered the Pastrami on Rye sandwich to go. We sat and waited about 15 minutes and watched the crowd grow as about 20 people came into order to go drinks and snacks and a few chose to sit at the patio tables out front for dine in. By the time we left they were warning folks that the kitchen was taking about 45 minutes for food bc of so many orders at once and take out. It's charming inside, with a large bar area with about 15 bar seats, and a few small tables. Cute decor on the walls all Duck-themed and friendly staff who were really bustling. Of note: the Pastrami sandwich my husband ordered was AMAZING. One of the top ones he's had and he orders them everywhere. The pastrami was hot and fresh and the rye was perfectly toasted. My 2-year old loved it. Ha! They have a nice menu of food items inside - with sandwiches, specials, and lunch/dinner options it looked like. I'd love to come back and have more time to chill, enjoy the vibes on a slow afternoon, and order some food.

They have a lot of breakfast sandwiches made on their homemade English Muffins. When I went to order I asked what's the favorite/best sellers and we told the Yinzer. I also figured I'd get another sandwich too so I went with the Pastrami on Rye. Unfortunately they did not have any Pastrami available so I will say I panicked a little and ordered the BLT. I took a bit to get our food but they were busy so I et that. Once home I got into the Yinzer first. Let me tell you this thing was saucy but I like it that way. I will say I was a big fan of the English Muffin, probably on of the best I have had. I also had plenty of Chipped Ham which was rather tasty. Now the BLT I wasn't the biggest fan of. I guess I'm just not a big fan of a breakfast sandwich with veggies on it. Just didn't work for me. Would for sure come back if I was in town again because they have a lot of tasty sounding sandwiches.

They take reservations, even for breakfast/brunch, and I highly recommend making one, especially if you'd like a spot on their very-cool covered patio. Even if you don't, and even if you have to wait a few mins for a seat, don't be deterred - it's so worth it! The feeling inside feels like a celebration of culture, like a Mexican restaurant got a glow-up. Big comfy booths invite you to sit and stay a while. The menu is small but thoughtful and the drinks, from the horchata and cold brew to the cocktails, are nicely curated and feature delightfully unique and seasonal ingredients. My mango coffee cocktail was nothing I would've ordered on my own but I took a recommendation from the bartender and was blown away by how well the flavors played together. Anything you get to eat will be exceptional. If I'm not mistaken, this is the sister restaurant to Teralingua. If you know anything about their brisket, you have a slight idea of what delights await you! Most recently, we tried the brisket grilled cheese birria-style, with consomme on the side for dipping. Let me tell you, my eyes rolled so far back in my head, I lost a contact lens. The service, even at the bar, was wonderful - Jenny was friendly but chill, helpful, quick. A sheer delight during times when great service seems like a relic of the past. We always leave stuffed with a smile on our face.

A Balkan-inspired menu? Come on. I finally tried it and I'm already counting down until I go back. I was expecting casual counter service and your typical breakfast food. I was so wrong. We were greeted by the warmest staff, who let us pick our own table. We sat by the windows, which was perfect for the morning sunlight; exactly what we wanted. The menu is eastern European with some Spanish touches (think huevos rotos and patatas bravas). Books featuring Bulgarian photography and other eastern European countries were scattered around the space, it was a lovely touch. The service was just as great as the food. My hot coffee came in the cutest mug and our waitress kept refilling it without being asked. The mekitsi and parzhen were phenomenal, with the parzhen being my favorite. The spreads they came with... I wanted to bottle those and take them home. My husband had the patatas bravas and I had the shakshuka, and we added kyufteh to both, this incredible in-house sausage that was 10/10 (it was a little spicy!). Everything was phenomenal and the portions were generous. If you're not feeling adventurous, they also have traditional eggs and omelettes, all with a little twist and somewhat elevated. Their drinks menu was impressive too if you're into a fancy coffee. Can't recommend this place enough. I shall be back!
