Upon returning the vehicle, I was shocked to discover additional charges that were never mentioned during the rental process. The staff's lack of transparency and refusal to provide a clear explanation for these exorbitant fees left me feeling cheated and frustrated. Customer service was equally disappointing; their representatives seemed indifferent to my concerns and displayed a complete lack of empathy. It's disheartening to encounter such a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. In conclusion, I strongly advise against renting from Dollar Rental. Aside from their cheap rates and I mean really cheap rates compared to Hertz or enterprise, I give this company a 5 star for good hospitality and service. I originally found them on Expedia when I had reserved for a rental, no issue picking up. The only issue was their website and contact number is out dated. When I found the place over at 5th street Oxnard Airport and told them the issue I met Messi the store manager who immediately took action. So for future reference to prevent this from happening from anyone else, Dollar airport car rental is located at Oxnard airport The cool experience i had with this company is that upon returning the vehicle I unfortunately got dog hair inside the vehicle and instead of charging me 200+ standard clean up fee they only charged me $75. Another guy who worked there also offered to reduce it by $50 paying the $25 out of his pocket not saying they'll do this for everyone but that was a nice gesture that really saved my butt from paying an unessecary bill i did not want. I rented a car thru Expedia. It was a one-way rental from Oxnard to San Diego for the July 2nd, which was the start of the long holiday weekend. It turns out that because this is a franchise location and not a corporate location, Dollar did not have cars that were available for a one-way trip that far (they only had cars to go to LA or Santa Barbara). Expedia did not verify with Dollar that they had cars that could be taken that far or even if they had cars available. The agent that helped me out (Josh) and the manager on duty, did all they could to help. After about an hour of working his magic, Josh was able to get a car from another rental agency that could be used one-way. Josh saved the day and while the car was a bit smaller than we ordered, it met our needs nicely. Josh even asked me to call and leave a message on when we got to San Diego to ensure we got there. Josh was the best and if you are ever in Oxnard and need a rental car - stop by Dollar! Josh gets a 5 star, expedia a 1star! read more

I was going to give you my life story as to why I needed a rental car but it really doesn't matter whether it's for business, pleasure, family emergency, car break down, etc. if you need a car speak to Mas who was so helpful, efficient, and took care of everything with a smile. I liked the fact he was very accommodating to every customer as I was listening in because there were three customers ahead of me and he got you in and out of there, I never felt how long will this take!! I returned the car the next day but unfortunately I was delayed and when I called again I got Mas who was so kind and told me not to worry and just drive safe!!! I called Josh at the front counter at the last minute, desperate to rent a car. He had one ready for me in mere minutes! While checking in and completing the paperwork Josh discovered my son is active duty Navy. He checked my son's ID and gave us a nice discount. The next day when I discovered I really needed the car an extra day, I called Josh again to see if it was possible to keep it longer. Guess what? He says "No problem, Ma'am, bring it back the next day and we are good!" I can't speak high enough praise for Josh and his brother Cy at Dollar Rent A Car in Oxnard! My husband and I came to visit family while traveling and we were having a hard time with car rental places till we came here Sai and Josh are amazing! No Hassell, fast, friendly and a quick process in and out. Prices were so good, beyond happy with the price I paid for the car I rented! I had rented a car for a trip to Arizona for my niece is graduation, and honestly the manager Mas helped me and he was so right about finding me a car with comfort and a relaxing drive. I had rented a Nissan Maxima, and it was so clean! I was extremely impressed! It was the first time I had rented a car, and the experience was great! Dollar rental in Oxnard gave me the experience of a lifetime. I came in looking for something to visit my gf 100 miles away. Mausi was AMAZING (Excuse my spelling). Yesterday my car got sick and had to go to the mechanic. I went to Priceline.com and I went to the 1st rental , Avis. I thought I was booked but they sent a message saying no cars available. I then tried Hertz. For some reason, the car couldn't be rented. Last but not least, I went to Dollar. Josh had great customer service skills and he saved the day. I was calling around and they provided me the best price over the phone, I made the reservation and picked up my vehicle the following day. From the second I walked in I was greeted with smiles and professionalism, the process was very quick and easy, the car was new and super clean. Not only they were able to match the price, but they also were able to change my mind since I was so frustrated without having my vehicle. These guys are great. competitive, great car selection and military friendly. Mas was able to give me the Mercedes Benz at the Govt Rate which was extremely kind. I called to extend the vehicle and he allowed me to have it at the same rate. Upon return, he remembered my name and remembered the destination that I told him I was going. We were looking for a rental car for a vacation. Even though we didn't fly in, they are located at the Oxnard Airport. After a phone call with Sai, he didn't have the compact car we were looking for, but gave us an upgrade for the same rate. Because we were not airport passengers, he greeted us curbside and got us checked in and on the road within 10 minutes.
