While the prices here aren't always the cheapest in the area, there are some notable winners that we've come back for more than once. First off, their bread and bagels have the lowest prices in Cedar Park. One loaf of bread or a bag of 6 bagels cost $2. Randalls easily charges $2.50 per loaf or $4 for 6 bagels. Next are their wines. Now I'm not a wine snob, but I can appreciate a Peju, Oberon, or a Sequoia Grove. Though the wines at Aldi's aren't anywhere near the caliber of wines those wineries produce, I did recently find a single vineyard Malbec from Argentina for $8. It surprised me. I would get it again. They do have some name brand staples and they're priced similar to other supermarkets in the area. I would stay away from their meats though as there are better deals elsewhere. Their shopping cart system requires a quarter to unlock the chain mechanism, but you get it back when you return your cart. They also don't have bags so you must bring your own. They do have empty boxes you can use to pack your groceries back home.

Along with the convenience store there is a Taqueria and a liquor store immediately next-door. And just a stones throw away from the convenient store sits the whiskey girls saloon. The convenience store has about 25 cold doors of drinks, some fresh donuts and most of the necessities convenience stores carry. The convenience store itself is about 25' x 50' which is smaller than your average newly built Quiktrip. They have plenty of ice, firewood and they do sell propane tanks.

Soon as I walked in though, I noticed the line was literally ALL the way to the back of the store down the beauty aisle I'm sitting there like... "Are they giving away free money in here or something?" because I have NEVER seen it that bad before. On top of that, chirren were running around unattended like it was recess. Then what really got me was it was around 5 PM and there were boxes EVERYWHERE. And when I say everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. I'm guessing the night shift hadn't stocked yet, but trying to maneuver through those aisles was frustrating. It was basically me sliding sideways between people and boxes trying to shop. I couldn't find my normal items, so I asked one worker for help, but baby she had both AirPods in and acted like I was invisible So I asked another employee that was stocking, and she actually stopped what she was doing to help me, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, we still couldn't find the item. Big bummer. At that point I was just walking around hoping the line would magically get shorter. Spoiler alert: it did not. By the time I finally got in line, it was still wrapped halfway through the aisle. Then FINALLY somebody must've said, "Hey... maybe we should open another register." Well duh I jumped into that line and eventually checked out, but for me to only have a few items that fit in ONE bag and still spend that much time in there? Crazy work. I'm giving a fairly low score this time because the whole experience felt like pure chaos. Hopefully it was just an off day because this is normally one of my favorite Dollar Trees.

Personally I rarely shop here but I can't resist some of their grocery items since they have a wide variety of store brands that offer things you can't get elsewhere. For instance, I've been looking for their seasonal strawberry whipped cream at many of the stores since it's perfect for Valentine's Day, but I've struck out for weeks until going to the Round Rock location. This particular one has been around for decades and looks dated although they've remodeled the inside. The location is convenient right at I-35 and the 45 toll road, and it's just across the street from Walmart with a traffic signal between the two of you need to shop at both. While this is an old, smaller location it seems to have a fine selection like the other stores, so I like shopping there for seasonal things, although they have everything you need from clothing to groceries to toys and home goods. One last tip: use their app and they'll give you 1% back to use on future purchases. And they have free wifi!

We've happily spent thousands of dollars there over the years, and it was always a great experience. But over the last eight months or so, I've started to dread walking through those doors. Not because of the products, but because of the customer service. The latest example? We were turned away from entering 10 minutes before 10:00 a.m. on a weekday because we aren't Executive Members. There wasn't a single customer waiting to get in. Zero. It wasn't about crowd control or capacity, it was simply, "No." Come on, Costco. Loyalty should count for something. A little common sense and a little kindness go a long way. We love shopping here, but experiences like this make it harder and harder to keep coming back.

We recently had an incident outside the tire shop where someone kept honking and cursing at us for taking too long to get air. We had a Costco employee run to defend us and ask the person to back off. Love the courtesy of the staff. In the clothing section where everything with a big pile of clothes, the staff didn't get angry except helped us sort through the pile to find our size. We'd go back and continue shopping for experiences like this.

I've also seen them help customers get deals with QT programs for cents off gas with food purchases or rewards programs, much to customer delight. The store is clean and easy to maneuver. Recently the extra flavoring options at the soda dispenser has been out of order, but that's just a bonus option that can't be found at other convenience stores. That said, it IS a bonus, so they really should get it fixed. (I mean who wouldn't like to add a little vanilla to their Diet Coke?) Overall, this is a solid convenience store/gas station.
