Went back and spoke to employee who said they will check the cameras which took like 15 min. Finally manager said we did put item on the cart and the camera showed us putting all of our groceries in our car. Unless they have cameras behind Sonics, not sure how they're able to verify this since our car was parked all the way to the end. Manager explained they're not allowed to show us the video or picture due to their policy. The item was only $15.99, they treated us like we stole it. What probably happened was the item got left behind since they don't offer bags anymore, and person behind us took it. Never coming back again, unless I want to be treated like a criminal or racially targeted. Instead of helping the customer the manager was very condescending towards us. Tip for the higher management: Provide customer-facing HR or communication training for the grocery manager. This would give them better tools to support shoppers and resolve service issues smoothly.

Perishable items are left in random aisles (I understand this is caused by customers, not staff), and there are some sanitary issues that really need to be addressed. Particularly in the restroom which looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. Just look at the dust and grime in the stall. Yuck! Costco continues to provide great value on items but this location needs better management to get it up to the same standards are those in the Bay Area and Monterey, Santa Cruz, etc...

Last Friday a co-worker and I were in Salinas on a job. We decided to go over to the Safeway deli…read moreand pick up some tenders and nuggets for lunch. About once a month we choose the Safeway deli in whatever town we are in. Have never had a problem. That night I started having diarrhea. I went to sleep and woke up feeling even more nauseated. I ended up running into the bathroom and vomiting. The next day I was wrecked. Sunday still didn't feel well. Went to work today (Monday) body felt better but stomach was still not right. Talked to my co-worker and he to got sick. That pretty much assured me that I (we) got some bad chicken. I do want to add this as well. I am a former Chef and as I was standing in line I did notice some not so great food handling. Mainly what I noticed was the cashier was working with food then touching the register back n forth. I know they have a lot of turnover at lunch but that's no excuse to serve food in that way. My whole weekend was ruined and I still don't feel well. I should have listened to my gut when I saw how the food was being handled. Word to the wise. Trust your gut! So you don't throw up your gut.
