    Shopping for stuff

As we were shopping & looking @ products Brett gave us a lot of helpful advice/recommendations. Very helpful & cheerful personality .

It's really a shame this Dollar Tree isn't better kept up. Every time I'm in it seems I'm on a constant lookout for tripping hazards and roadblocks. If it weren't for this I would certainly be more excited to stop by for all the surprisingly decent quality of items they carry. They're really perfect for things like batteries, candy, birthday cards - and their customer service ranges from satisfactory to great! But the disarray I so commonly see throughout the store stops me from wanting to come back very often.

One cashier and a whole aisle of customers no one to stock the shelves had to get products out of boxes just sitting in aisles

Very clean and great location, I love the great school supplies they offer especially with the Davis area being cruel to college students

Not only is there the Westlake Market for your weekly groceries, but they also have beauty salons, a number of eateries, *~MANDRO~*, and a bunch more. I believe that Lamppost Pizza, Shanghai Town, and Chuy's Tacqueria are here, so you have a decent selection of places to drop by for a meal. My favorite boba place, Mandro Teahouse, is also here! The other businesses nearby, like Abba Salon and Mattress Express, I don't frequent much nor do most college students, so I can only imagine that mostly locals go there. I also go to Family Dollar quite often for my cheapo college student needs LOL. Still cool to have so much variety in such a small plaza, though :) Really accessible-- there are two bus stops that are on each side of the plaza, one near Family Dollar on Arlington and the other across the parking lot on Lake. I bus or walk here from my apartment from time to time to get groceries or study at Mandro. For the apartments in West, I think this little plaza is super convenient and useful. Every once in a while, they have a small food truck festival in the parking lot that features local eats. I'm not too sure of the exact dates but there is one during Picnic Day which gets pretty popular! It's awesome that they have little things that build and engage the community.

It feels like it's a surplus store. They bought too much of a certain item so it lands here at discount. Is that the case? No idea. It also feels like it's what is needed in this town. Instead of running off to San Francisco or Sacramento, you can find clothes here. There are going to be plenty of other retail outlets doing similar things like Nordstrom Rack over at the old U-Mall. Would have been nice to have had this here in previous years though. It was also a lot of different specialties under one roof. A bit of the jack of all trades, master of none style. Buy shoes, dog food and a bicycle? This is your place. No one is going to want to do that though. Or surprise me...I'd like to see something land in this retail space and thrive for more than a few years at a time. They offer a wide range of products at generally lower prices than department and specialty stores, with savings typically ranging from 20-60%. Sierra - Cast iron? Students in Davis are not looking to cook with cast iron pans. Makes sense that this is also in South Lake Tahoe.
