Terrible customer service from elder cashier, Nancy. When I arrived in the store there was no one around to help me to find the single item that I came for. I scanned the isles for over ten minutes. Finally before I found it myself, someone stocking a shelf made eye contact with me, and then gets up off his knees and walks away as I start walking towards him. After finding the item myself, I arrive to the checkout line where I heard Nancy's extreme inconsiderate disregard for the pregnant woman with a baby in her arms. The cashier scanned an extra item that the customer did not mean to putchase, and she explained and requested a return. Before even answering her, she starts scanning my items, and then rudely blurts out "yeah but now you have to buy something". I am standing there with my jaw dropped. Never in my 10+ years in customer service have i been so revolted by the attitude of an elder woman to a pregnant mother of two. The customer kindly asked "why" she had to buy something to return, and the rude elderly woman, Nancy, AGAIN disregards her, rolls her eyes, and goes "policy" to her. The mother looked like she was gonna cry with how she was speaking to her. She ended up just walking out. Disgusting behavior. When it's my turn she doesn't say hello, just continues scanning and tossing my items to the bagging area like they're garbage. So much cringe on my face. Before finishing scanning my items she answers a phone call, and starts being rude to whoever was on the phone. She says to me (while on the phone) "bag?", and i dont even notice shes speaking to me because shes still on the phone, so she yells it at me "BAG?!?!?" I go "yeah" I hold my cash for a whole 2 minutes in front of her waing for her to get off the phone, and when she does.... She says "answer the question on the screen" and all it said was "insert card" after i handed her cash and she huffs and puffs, frustrated with me?!?!?! I couldn't wait to get my change, and get out of there. The disgustingly rude behavior destroyed my night. read more

I have never been into a store where during my whole experience I have heard this employee being obnoxious and rude to multiple customers in front of multiple people and nobody that works there saying a word. I came to your business today to return items that I had bought previously. However, in order to do the return, you must exchange them for other items. Fine. We bought enough items to make the exchange go swiftly. Or so we thought. Our cashier, Paula, couldn't be more unhelpful, rude, and flat out mean. I would give this store more stars but I can't take my shopping card out??!! I always buy bunch of cleaning supplies, bleach bottles and have to leave my bags inside the store and go to my car 2-4x. What a nightmare :-( Why? In every other store the shopping card is there to take items to your car. The parking lot is sometimes full and you have to walk kind of far away. I came with my daughter and her friend today around 5:00 pm for a quick run. The girls needed some gift bags. They came back to my car very upset. My daughter and her friend experienced and watched Karen make a racist comment to another customer. An older man (asian) was paying just infont of them and he asked a question about the wine or juice that was at the register. He asked if you had to be 21 to buy wine My daughter thinks he wasn't sure if it was an alcoholic beverage or not and was just trying to chit chat. Karen responded saying, "I don't know where you are from but here you have to be 21" Her tone was very rude and demeaning. It made my girls very uncomfortable especially since my daughters best friend is Asian. When they checked out she was very nice to my daughter but said no words to her friend and quickly used handsanitizer after her friend was checked out and with the old man not my daughter. My daughter and i called the Asst Mngr. it was a gentleman. He just listened to our concerns but did not seem sympathetic or offer to talk to the employee. He sounded not concerned at all or offer any apology! We are a diverse country why is there so much discrimination? We will be calling corporate tomorrow!!! read more

Went to this store this morning to look around for a candy called Jolly Joes (grape), I heard that it might be under Mike and Ike. Couldn't find it. But, continued to look around; it's a fun store to check out especially when a holiday is coming up as they have all sorts of items. Every week there is something new to see. Im a fan of discounts so any store that offers them will probably get a 3 star or more. This dollar tree is small and cozy. Unlike its sister stores this one in particular has one way in and one way out. The door seemed to more for cattle than for humans. Anyways, once you get past that point you can go in and enjoy the spoils. My favorite aisle is of course the snacks. I go in with a budget and before you know it I end up with 6 bags. The employees here seem to be just here because the store needs workers. Nothing to write home about but it serves its purpose. read more

Best dollar tree store I've been to! Most are crowded with tons of shoppers and messy aisles but this particular one was CLEAN and not crowded at all (possibly due to the holiday weekend). I was greeted as I walked in thru the door which never happens. The aisles were pretty wide and as I stated before, clean! I went back for a shopping cart and noticed they were all neatly lined up in straight rows. Impressive! 4 stars for the clean store and nice employees. -1 only because they didn't have some of the items I came in looking for which I've seen in other dollar stores. read more

This location has improved (in my opinion). The last time I went to Dollars Tree, the store looked cleaner and things were organized and picked up. The lines can get pretty long as it seems like they lack cashiers. If you want to avoid lines, go early in the morning (8 AM). If I need to do a Dollar Tree run, I go before I go to work. Another good thing about going early in the morning is that you get first dibs on the items since the shelves are pretty well stocked in the AM (from my experience). Dollar Tree is a great place to get birthday items, candy for goody bags, napkins, holiday decorations, etc. If you are lucky, you can even get some of the popular themed items (ie: Star Wars) for cheap. Just a little side note, the popular themed items do not last long. So, I grab what I see. If I have extra, I exchange the extra items for something else. Dollar Tree does exchanges ONLY and not refunds. Sometimes Dollar Tree does not restock some of the popular items so when they are gone, they are gone (unless you find it at another location). read more

I found it pretty rude that the guy on the phone didn't let me finish my question about balloon pumping which I knew they used to do before he was very short and if he is the same manager who was yelling at his team member about him being the superior just because he's a manager he should re-consider his coaching ways . Customer service you wait for the customer to finish taking so you can assess their needs in a proper way. This is a dollar store. Unsure if others reviewing it are comparing it to a high store. Do you need something cheap plastic and probably made in a factory in China then this is your place to come. Perfect for throw away stuff like picnic supplies. I would not trust electronics in a place like this but a plastic cup heck yeah. The cups I got hold water, don't break when I dropped one in store, and if I happen to leave it in the park it is super cheap to replace. They have a great variety of changing inventory with mostly household goods. I've been using this store for those needs about 1 year now. read more

This is a good dollar store with solid selections and is kept neat & clean. It is usually busy but items are kept stocked and the aisles kept as orderly as possible. Cashier lines can get lengthy but they get people is and out somewhat quickly. We have a few "favorite" dollar-type stores in the area, as each offers some slightly different inventory but each carries the same discount core items. Of course the degree of quality on certain items priced for a dollar and made overseas may come into question (i.e. electronics or tools for example) for certain people. It's important for the individual shopper to determine for his/herself on this point as we can only report back on what we have shopped for at this store. What we like and purchase at this location is; household items, office supplies and dry good food items and they gave a large selection of candy! :-) They are located in a busy strip mall, but parking is good as they have a huge private lot. I was shopping at the Pleasant Hill Dollar Tree this evening and Dea, the cashier was wonderful. She single-handedly handled requests from her team members regarding scheduling while blowing up several balloons for a customer, ringing at the cash register, etc. She had the most pleasant attitude and smile the whole time. There seemed to be a lot on her plate at once but she handled it all in stride. She definitely deserves recognition. The level of customer service she displayed is rare these days. I hate this store! The customer service is horrible the lines are way to long and the manager in a moron. I hate that every time I go in there and get something (usually for for work) im asked if I have any singles or any other change. I understand running out once but this is a retail store not a lemonade stand run by children get enough change for the store and stop pestering your customers. I was about to buy a few items I needed, when I realized I had forgotten my wallet. I asked the clerk Annie I think it was, if she could hold my bag, and I'd be back right away to pay. When I got back, the line was closed, and another cashier couldn't find the bag. I just wanted to pay for my things, and I couldn't get a minute to get my wallet? I stood in line afterward to ask another clerk if I could pay, and the bag was gone. I was assured the cashier was just grabbing another drawer, but I waited 10 minutes and had to go to an appointment. I get that it was my bad for leaving my wallet in the car, but show a little kindness and give us a minute to come back and pay. This happened today, just now. read more

The management there is beyond bad. I was employed there, and was constantly treated as if I was an afterthought. One of the managers, Raphael constantly talked down to me and treated me as if I was an idiot on a daily basis during my shifts.I constantly felt like I was a child who recently learned to tie their shoes. On multiple occasions, while en route to work, being told that I was not needed and ended up loosing hours. What was worse is when it came to get my w2,s I had to pay $7.99 to download it and only had a small window of time to download it, and if I missed this time frame, had to pay more. And this company wonders why employee moral is oh so lo, and why turnover is constantly high. And also has no working air, and also the employees were constantly frowned upon for having water to drink. read more

For a dollar store, this is actually really nice. They've remodeled since I started shopping here and it's roomy and allows for more product. I've come here for soooo many reasons, one being to stock up on wine glasses. They have the best deal for wine glasses! I recommend stopping in and checking out their glassware section. I had to get a ton of wine glasses for a party. You can't beat 10 for $10. I still use them as they are handsome glasses and very durable. I even found tiny vials of glitter and sequins perfect for nail art. And who can beat all the seasonal goodies they are constantly putting out all year long? Wow! This store was sooo clean and so organized so much more than any other dollar tree stores I've been too ( Berkeley, Oakland). This store has a a great selection of things , was very clean large and staff was nice. Do check expiration days as some of the food was expired. Sorry for my English. Today we with my wife went to Dollar Tree store on Monument Boulevard in Pleasant Hill. We live not so far from this store so I took my electric scooter to ride to the store. We were there like 5 times before and we took our scooter into the store with us with no problem nor comments from just anybody. This time, when we just entered the store one woman screamed on us from afar for the whole store if we have a lock for scooter and if not than we cannot go inside with it. Moreover, her request didn't seem kind nor polite and it was made in front of all of the customers and other people around. She looked extremely indignant and alarmed as if we tried to do something really-really bad though we are very law-abiding people. Because she screamed, I decided to stay next to the door inside to wait for my wife when she had to make some shopping choices all by herself. After that, that woman screamed one more time at me to go out. It insulted me and I couldn't do anything because my English is very simple now. I went outside to check if there were any prohibition signs not to enter with something (vehicle/food/dog/etc.) and I found NOTHING. There was no sign that prohibits me to enter the store with the scooter. In a while, I entered the store again but without the scooter - I left it in sight. My wife approached me before checkout and I asked her to tell this woman that it looks like harassment and it humiliated me. Though my wife only asked what was the problem and what right does she have not to let me in? To which she replied that such are rules and even with no signs outside it is a vehicle. My wife asked but why,it is smaller than their cart? And the woman said "and so what? It is still a vehicle and it was on the street. And if someone let us in with it, it doesn't mean that it's permitted". My wife just frozed up because she didn't know what else to say. So based on the logic of this woman, a wheelchair, a baby stroller, and a cart are the vehicles too because they have wheels and they were on the street as well. Will your store prohibit entering with them inside?? Should our kids in strollers stay locked outside while their parents are trying to shop in Dollar Tree? Can disabled people enter your store or people on vehicles are prohibited? But I am not a disabled person and nor a kid in a stroller. I felt very humiliated about her appeal to me. It is the humiliation of honor and dignity in the country from which I am. If she had more respect for other people, she could approach me and tell me in person those words based on laws of the state or country. I would understand that request. Now I feel scared about entering somewhere with my scooter. Though I had never had any kind of problems with entering any establishment with it including restaurants, clinics, other shops, etc. Everybody just helped me to hold the door. The woman's name was probably Nancy and on the check sales associate's name: Baheejah. She was a tall and loud woman. And later it turned out that she billed us one position extra that we didn't buy. Dollar Tree is WONDERFUL for buying things for goodie bags -- especially for the last minute mother.

Every time I go into this store they never know what they are doing at the cash register. If I could give no stars I would. The same manager doesn't even know how to train his employees efficiently and the lines are always long. I've been in retail for over 30 years and if you don't know how to process a check well then your pretty dumb. This is the third time that I've experienced this problem. Never going again. Other dollar trees know what to do but not this one. He actually put the check in backwards and said " I'm sorry it's not accepting your check here." I know for a fact nothing is wrong with my check or my check status. I even tried to help and told him he has to have the check put in the other way with the numbers of the checking account and routing number put in so the scanner reads it. But no he said " I'm afraid to try it again." Afraid? Afraid of what? How about your afraid to know what to do as a Manager. Why are you a manager if you don't know what your doing? How can you walk an example for your new hires. I'm done going here! I've learned my lesson. read more

Ever since the remodel, I like to call this location the "five dollar tree." It looks great! I come in here to look for little things to add to projects and things I'm working on- Halloween decorations for the office, party supplies to decorate for co-workesrs birthdays, flowers for a baby shower, poster boards for an event- and dollar tree has them all. They have a lot of great party stuff- cards, gift bags, wrapping paper- for all occasions, and right now they have a lot of fun summer items- everything luau, glow sticks, BBQ equipment. read more

It's a dollar store, what do you expect, a Nordy's piano player? The stuff is good, some national brands, cheap eats and products. The $1 red wine (when available) is nasty, drinkable as a sangria ingredient. My kids love going there, but the toys are incredibly cheap and break by the time you get to your car. BIGGEST COMPLAINT: The shopping carts are new, yay! But you can't remove them from the store...they lock-up. This makes larger purchases impractical as all the stuff has to hauled by hand to your car. I now never buy more than a couple bags worth of groceries. VERY inconvenient, especially with 3 small kids. read more

A friend and I stopped by last weekend to see if they had anything he could use for a project he was doing for work. We found some foam boards for $1 each, which is sooo much cheaper than the boards at Office Depot. But they all had ridges in them like they'd gotten wet and the quality wasn't as good. So, yes, everything is a dollar, but you're also getting what you pay for. read more

I go for certain things like party supplies, wrapping paper/ribbon, mylar balloons, cards...but that's about it. I don't like the cleaning supplies and somehow I just don't trust the food items. Love the Dollar Tree stores! Every time I go in there I find something new and always end up buying way too many things. I am amazed at some of the things in there which are only $1 ... Shampoos, snack items, car care items! It makes me think HOW much are regular stores marking these items up.
