I go for certain things like party supplies, wrapping paper/ribbon, mylar balloons, cards...but that's about it. I don't like the cleaning supplies and somehow I just don't trust the food items. I had the worst experience today , came to exchange a couple of things , but got treated with the worst customer service I have ever experienced by GERY . Dollar Tree's are consistent, easy to find, good value, just watch out for the folks without teeth wandering by (hide your kids, hide your wives, and hide your husbands too... and any valuable's in plain view in your car... OK, it's messy and sometimes disorganized. The check out lines are long. But the bargains can't be beat. I stop by regularly to find things for my daughter who's a third grade teacher. They have lots! Also, a super place for party stuff or stocking stuffers at the holidays. I love it! read more

This store has had broken AC for months. I went in a couple months ago and walked right back out. It felt like it was 100+ inside. I went back yesterday, thinking, surely they addressed the AC issue. Not at all!!! I'm tempted to take a thermometer and document the working conditions these individuals have to work under. It's not healthy or safe to be that hot all day. There's no way that temperature is good for any of the staff or perishables. This issue needs to be addressed. read more

Store was recently remodeled looks great very nice & neat....Always well stocked. The staff is helpful except for the male Spanish manager he has a chip on his shoulder & seems to be irritated all the time Ive seen other customers tell him about his attitude & negative energy.. Store has long lines always have to ask for another register to be open, After the 5th customer in line its like come on now really.I bought balloons for my daughters bday went to pick the ones I wanted they were out of everything I choose like 10 different balloons then requested a refund said I couldn't get one. read more

I went in to buy a few supplies for my preschool classroom. The director of the preschool sent me with the business credit card to pay. The cashier was nice. She asked for ID for the card and I explained the situation. The manger came over and was SO incredibly rude. She would cut off what I was saying, she was snappy, and she didn't care about my situation. I am very upset at how I was treat. If the policy really is that they can't take my business card without the business owner then the policy needs to change for businesses but more than that the treatment of customers needs to improve. This Dollar Tree is GREAT! I am always surprised at the special things they have and the selection is excellent! Being on a budget, I go to Dollar Tree often, given that it helps meet my $expectations. And the Dollar Tree in the Crossroads is really special -- the staff are really nice. read more

The store always has fun new treasures! I got a little freaked out last time I was in there tho... there were three fights customers instigated... you would think of all places (Pleasant Hill) Dollar store wouldn't be like that. The manager calmed the volatile people down. For the messes people make in there they sure keep the place super tidy. I just don't want to feel like a fight is going to break out or I'm going to get shot while I'm shopping. Made me un - easy with the irate customers yelling and screaming. The staff is kind. One lady was standing waaaay to close to me, weirded me out, but other then that they are usually super friendly. read more

Worst customer service experience ever. Massive lines. Nobody to help blow up balloons. People in front of me had been waiting for balloons for over an hour. Finally a salesperson comes over to help and then a minute later says she had been called away and will be back in another 10 minutes. My journey ended with no balloons and a pissed wife for both being late home and showing up without balloons. I guess it makes sense that a dollar store with shitty merchandise for cheap also treats you like shit. read more

It feels weird giving this place only 2 stars when I actually like the the stuff they sell. But that's all I can give them, because for some reason the idiot managers who run this Dollar Tree NEVER EVER HIRE ENOUGH CASHIERS! (and my guess is they probably can't read either so they most likely will never see this review...oh well). I always have to wait a ridiculously long time in long lines when I go here, and more often than not I don't have the time, so even though I like their stuff I usually end up shopping somewhere else now (like the 99 cent store in Park & Shop in Concord, or Walmart in Martinez). Pretty much every time I'm at Dollar Tree they only have 2 cashiers working at once, even though they have at least twice that many registers that could be opened up. The worst experience was going there the 2nd week in December because I desperately needed some lowcost things they had...sure enough, only 2 cashiers and lines soooo long they were going well into the product aisles. The long lines and lack of enough cashiers at Dollar Tree in Pleasant Hill make it a very time consuming, upsetting and frustrating shopping experience. I like what they sell, but I hate the store itself and I don't recommend it. read more

Customer service is nonexistent , they tell you to leave the cart at the store on the way out , you can't take it outside to your car. Plan on bringing large bags. I bought plates there , so I had to make a few trips to my car, because I couldn't carry all in one trip. They didn't offer to help. When I asked to wrap my plates the lady said she didn't have the paper. The guy at the next registry handed her a roll of paper. The lady ripped a few pieces and through threw them at me, so I can do my own wrapping. Very rude poorly trained staff. But besides that, I found all I was looking for and didn't find at the other two dollar stores near by. So, I give one star for the customer service and 5 stars for the assortment . read more

This store has a rude manager. I parked in back and it is a LONG walk to the door. I had been there before and went through that entrance. Well, it is now locked. Sign says go in front door. REALLY???? I just walked a long way from my car down a long walk as well and I now have to move my car. The manager came out of his office and did not even come to the door, but gave me a nasty look and pointed to the front of the store. They need to put a SIGN down on end of walkway and also along walkway that it is no longer an entrance. And his attitude was certainly not nice either. I know it is a cheap store but seems they do not care about their customers either. read more

This place looks so much better after they remodeled this location. I usually I just go here to buy greeting cards, which are obviously a great deal. One time I was here I heard the most annoying noise ever, it was a kid that was squeezing this stupid toy, and the mom was not helping the problem at all, otherwise great experiences here. read more

This place is way cheaper than Wal-Mart, and you can find a lot of great things for 5 dollars or less. The remodel is nice. The floor is a lot nicer. The workers are cool. Security has gone up. The place is more organized than it ever has been. You see all kinds of people here. I think it is smart how they have the holiday stuff out in the front. read more

After buying a product at one of this store on behalf of an out-of-state friend who wanted one of their products, and having him assure me by e-mail that the one I found was the right one, I bought it and mailed it to him. He returned it and said it was not the right product after all. When I tried to return it for a refund, with the original receipt, I was told there were no cash refunds at this store. The only stores in this area that don't give cash refunds are the thrift stores. They have big signs at the cash register that say in capital letters NO CASH REFUNDS. Dollar Tree chooses to keep that in the small print ON THE BACK of their receipts. I still have my $5.00 purchase. I will keep it as a memorial that Dollar Tree has the worst customer service of any store in recent memory. In fact, I did another return just after that. Cash without even a receipt from Smart and Final. Now that is a company I will continue to patronize! read more
