This location is nice if you are in the north west part of Reno. I miss when the dollar tree was truly a dollar. They have raised their prices which makes them similar value to going elsewhere. Most of the time they are out of stuff at this location and their shelves aren't stocked as well as some other locations. The customer service has been nice with each encounter but I probably won't come as much anymore now that their prices are competing. read more

It wasn't until I saw they will be closing some stores that I realized how much I like seeing what's new, saving some money, and mostly decorating the office on the cheap. I will be reviewing the 3 stores that are in my circle of shopping. I will say that this NW Reno Store is a nice size, keeps plenty of stock, and has a friendly enough staff. The store is never the cleanest but considering the volume and competition (Walmart across the street) they keep it organized well. No freezers so that limits some of the selection for some shoppers (Save-Mart next door). The parking lot is huge, carts and baskets are always ready to go. This store has no respect for or understanding of senior citizens. It is painful for old folks to stand for long periods of time. Only 1 checker and she has left her post to help someone find something when there are other employees stocking who could have helped the customer instead. Long line. Watch out for yourself when shopping at this Dollar Tree location. Apparently, many of the clientele follow you in from the parking lot hoping to score. I had a woman and her kids follow me in and try to embarass me into giving them compensation. Yelling and name calling while management did nothing. Whatever. I needed to pick up a gift bag for a surprise shower last week and did not have a lot of time so I thought I would run in quick on my lunch break. You can always find a cute gift bag without paying a lot like the big chain stores in the area. After I found the what I was looking for I went to get in line. I noticed right away several people walking around not wearing masks. I got in line to wait my turn and kept my social distance from others. Finally it was getting to be my turn to check out and the guy at the register was still trying to get organized and put his wallet away when the cashier called me over. I politely said I would wait until the man was finished and moved away from the check out area since he did not have a mask on. When I did get checked out the cashier did not seem to friendly or happy to be there. I guess I wouldn't be too happy either if they do not enforce the mandated mask policy and my safety was at risk. I do not plan to go into this store again until I can feel safe. I would recommend to the cashier to please wait until the customer has started to walk away before calling the next customer to the register. Wow! I went into this store today and it looked like a bomb had went off. It was so dirty. Stuff was all over the floors and the floor was dirty too with lots of dark spots all over the floor. It looked like it had not been mopped or cleaned in months. Windows were dirty too. I have gone to this store for a long time. I was just in shock over how bad it was. This is a simple Dollar Tree location but it has everything you might need for your kitchen, bathroom, and more. I mainly came here to purchase some affordable cleaning supplies, such as dish soap, brushes, garbage bags, and other kitchen supplies. I found everything I needed and everything in the store was organized very well. They also have a pretty decent snacks section and toys section for the kids! The line wasn't too long and I was able to check out pretty fast. The service was good and I will come back if I'm in the area. read more

I was able to find a pretty great selection & the items were of good quality. I love their customer service, as well. The cashiers are always so nice! I'm rating this Dollar Tree store in relation to all the other Dollar Tree stores at which I have shopped in the U.S. This is, by far, the cleanest, neatest, most organized Dollar Tree store I have shopped in. I almost felt like I wasn't in a Dollar Tree, perhaps because this is a socio-economically advantaged area...as well as a new shopping area in West Reno. I didn't know that shopping in a Dollar Tree could be a nice experience. Even the cashier Cheryl was extremely nice. When I return to Reno to visit my family, I will definitely come back to this Dollar Tree. Seriously, I bought 3 months worth of cleaning supplies and drove back to Berkeley where I live...our Dollar Tree in Berkeley is crap! A mixed bag. As others have pointed out, this place is a mess. Very dirty and cluttered. Some employees are wonderful and wildly friendly, while others are unhelpful. I once waited in line for 15 minutes and watched a manager open a register for friends, but when I went to check out behind them he closed the line and wouldn't re-open even though the lane I was in had six people in it. read more

Well this location is certainly well stocked but when I got in it was kind of Mayhem with how many boxes were all strewn around and it look like they were doing an inventory but it was 3 in the afternoon. How could there be so many boxes in the middle of the store in the middle of the afternoon and that's normal business hours so I'm not sure what to think about with this location. The other reviews are really glowing and that's why I came in this cuz I thought that I would find a really nice store I didn't even end up finding the scissors that I was looking for. I'm headed over to Save Mart right next door and looking for scissors that I found and they were a couple dollars more than they would have been at the Dollar Tree but I got them and that's all that really matters. I'll give this Dollar Tree another try and a month or two when I need some more stuff. read more

I was purchasing some items in your dollar tree and in the middle of my transaction the cashiers machine froze and said that she had to get managers approval. She looked around called for him and no one came. There was a huge line and the manager was not around finally some customers and myself looked outside and he was sitting in his car by this time 15 minutes have passed, we all went to talk to him and he said he was not going to come in the store for another 5 minutes, we responded that their is no manager their line was crazy and we had been waiting by now 20 minutes. He responded by saying that's to bad I have 5 minutes. He made every person wait the extra 5 minutes before he would go back in. And when he finally went in he refused to assist the cashier with the frozen register. More than 5 minutes went by and we had to go tell him we need him to fix this we have been in his store for over 40 minutes trying to get our things. The managers name was Daniel Mietta the most disrespectful rude arrogant person I have ever seen. This man does not care about your business. Thats who your manger is he should be fired. read more

I went to the Dollar tr on N McCarran this evening. There were about 10 people in line and one checker. She had a problem and asked the other person there to help. When thee 2nd girl came out she yelled she'd take the next person in lIne and if we had a problem we could just put our stuff down and leave! When we were shocked at that she continued to act like we were bothering her. I wasn't the only one who put down my stuff and left. So unprofessional. I went to the dollar tree today to get a couple of stuff for my aunt that is sick. I went to the register and the employee wasn't there but the light to the register was on. Me and this older lady were confused which register to go to. The employee came back to the register and I went in the line and he got mad at me because I was before the elder lady. He was checking up my stuff and I had $25 one five dollar bill and one $20 bill. The total happen to be seven dollars so I gave him the $20 bill in the five dollar bill so he can give me change back. When I gave him the money he gave me an attitude and said what is this for. I told him it was for the stuff so he can give me change back. When he figured out what I was saying he gave me an attitude, rolled his eyes, and shook his head. I hope they put this employee and check before someone else does. read more

It's fun to shop here. There's always something interesting to purchase. I get all my reading glasses here because they are of course, just $1 each and I lose them all the time. Cleaning supplies are cheap but I avoid them as I don't think they clean as well as brand name cleansers. Great place to find cards and school supplies. Check-out lines can be long, and I often see other employees doing nothing when they could be helping the check-out line. The best part is that I usually leave with money in my pocket! read more

I used to visit this store 2 or 3 times a week. It was my favorite Dollar Tree. It was neat, clean, and the employees were awesome. Over the last few months, however, I have seen a rapid decline and won't shop there again. It's filthy, poorly stocked, and there is merchandise all over the floor. I wish someone from the head office would do an inspection because I think they would be shocked. There is only one employee there who behaves professionally and that is Delfina. If they don't watch out this store will close. I would rather drive out of my way to another Dollar Tree than shop off the floor. Sad. read more
