It's crazy that if you try to buy and you're short a penny they won't sell you anything... I paid for my stuff and my change was .37 cents and the cashier just said you're going to be 2 cents short, we don't carry pennies ... how much are they making out of all the people's pennies... smh dollar tree stealing from your customers... ashame on you!!! I went to the store looking for her particular item could not find them at the store, so I called customer service. I don't understand how customer service rep in genitives have the worst customer service skills I called and talked to the individual. She was so rude and so condescending, I don't know how he got his job. He should be outside sweeping the parking lot or nobody bothers him. Customer Service is not his forte. It's difficult to get a 1.5 rating on Yelp, even when you don't care. While there is probably some truth to some of the past reviewers stories, that wasn't my experience on this visit. The store appeared to be in order and being efficiently run. The floor was clean, the shelves were stocked and neat. I didn't speak with anyone but one of the employees smiled at me and nodded. So many container options in this location! Lots of new products. This is my favorite dollar tree store in the area.

I have been to a few stores. One in San Diego and this one in Riverside. I needed to get a few items, since it was near my doctors office I thought to stop by at 11am to quickly go in and out on Thursday, Aug 13. This store seemed to be high foot traffic as it is in the middle of a neighborhood and next to Slater Brothers grocery store. First impressions... as I walked in it seemed like a plethora of merchandise - lots of it. If you shop here make sure you have a list of items or you can be quickly distracted by all the consumer stuff. There was only one cashier who seemed irritated. Not the friendliest as I had some questions for her. Essential to have customer service training. I had to find some readers and they were well stocked along with batteries and chocolate- I found some Godiva in fact. The shoppers all were wearing masks which is good, thou I didn't see any sanitizers for shoppers when you first come in. Would I return to this location? Yep, this is definitely the rudest Dollartree staff I have ever encountered in all my years of shopping at this chain. I thought it was a one time incident at the start of December this year, but today I had an encounter with their very rude manager. I bought $100 worth of product and while he's scanning my items he tells me that I need to start bagging my own stuff. I ignore him and he continues to scan. Then he gets to 3 wine glasses I purchased as gifts and he puts them aside. So I say, "You are going to wrap those individually in paper, correct?" He tells me no because they don't have paper due to COVID. Huh??? So I insist that he needs to wrap them up because I don't want them to break. He tells me he'll wrap them up in plastic bags but he'll have to charge me. Again, huh??? I'm spending $100 and you have to be miserly and charge me an extra $.30. I said no and asked for the manager. He says he is the manager. So I proceed to tell him that he PLEASE needs to figure something out because I can't carry those home without protection because they will break. He proceeds to tell me No They Won't Break! I just stayed calm and said as the manager you should be able to figure something out. So he goes to get some small boxes and puts each glass in one. I said thank you for figuring that out. In the meantime a woman who could have easily gone to the other shorter line says OMG this is Dollartree just let it go. I kept my mouth shut. But then her unclassy self has to say as I'm leaving , "Oh it's a good thing I don't need a manager" My friend turned and told her to shut up and I just said, you're an idiot. So not only is the staff rude but some of the clientele can be salty and low class. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I'll probably not go to that location again unless I'm in a pinch. But I certainly won't buy a big order from there anymore. read more

They don't even try to fix it up, clean the floor, or make it look presentable. It's cluttered, messy and they are yelling at people to put masks on when you enter?? One of the rudest dollar stores I've ever been to. If I could give 0 stars I would! I went there to get a cheap frame to use for an event so I can just throw it away after. When I came home and I opened the frame one of the metal thing at the back that holds the frame is missing. So I came back to the store and I told them my issue. I said I check the other frames it seems that all have the same issues so it must be a manufacturing fault. They just said sorry we can't return it coz you opened the package. But I said I wouldn't know if it's missing til I open the package coz the missing part was covered by the frame stand. They didn't even offer an exchange for other frames. They just brushed you off and laughed at you. It's not about even how much you bought but it's honoring your store products even if it's cheap. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRANCH!!! Regarding service at this location I'm not sure if there has been a change in management but I have been here and have always had exceptional service up till today. Wow. First of all, such horrible service! It is clear that the employee that helped me at check out does not enjoy or appreciate her job. After checking me out she didn't help wrap my glass cups and instead handed me a roll of paper towels to do so myself, which I understand to an extent because the line was very long, but she had no problem taking her time ringing up an employee after me and talking badly about her boss while intentionally skipping on scanning a few items. She didn't wish me a good day, in fact didn't even acknowledge me until I thanked her (for the help she didn't provide) with a "mmmhhhmmmm." Second, when I first walked in there were two girls including the cashier that "helped" me that were just standing around having personal conversation and laughing out loud without even acknowledging the people walking in. I will never return to this location and don't recommend anyone else to do so unless they enjoy receiving bad service. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would! I came in because it's the closest store to my home.. I love buying my Xmas bags at dollar store because they have good variety and are $1! Upon arriving the store was a HUGE mess and the Xmas bag area a disaster, I guess I can understand that, this is a low budget store.... but if they had good management I would think that would not be the case. They were out of the medium size bags, but they had piles of boxes in front of the Xmas bags that needed to be open to be stocked. I walked over to an associate and asked her if she could please open the box so I can grab the medium bags from there since they had non in stock. She walked over to who I assume was the manager and started to speak Spanish to her.. asking if she could open the box for me. The manager looked annoyed and said NO.. she told the girl to tell me to come back tomorrow, that those boxes were for tomorrow! The associate came over and told me that I could return tomorrow and that they would be available. What do you mean???? So apparently they are too lazy to stock a box that's already open. She said that they are not allowed to open those boxes because then the team won't put it away. I was sooo upset! I'm not off work tomorrow!!! I needed my bags to wrap my gifts tonight.. I really want to be supportive and support my local business right now so they don't close! And people like them make it really difficult!!! This is not the first time this team is rude to me.. they always seemed annoyed and look like they hate their jobs. I left and drove 5 minutes to the $99 cent store and bought my bags from there. I don't think this store deserves 1 star. The staff is rude never say thank you or thank you for coming in plus they are always low on staff. Today 8/21 at 10:20am I was there to buy ice two candles and glass cleaner and instead of calling for help the cashier decided to walk away and fill up balloons for a customer who couldn't make up mind while we stood there for almost 6 minutes and the line had accumulated to 8 people that were also getting inpatient. When I asked the lady if she had anyone else that can help us she responded with give me a minute sir clearly that's not what I asked her. Seconds later I walked always and took my business to the 99c store. What a way to treat the people who pay your bills. read more
