HomeGoods is the first place I will go to. I go to all different HomeGoods in Utah and do think they vary a lot, especially between layout and selection. This HomeGoods is unlike any other HomeGoods I have been to however. Technically speaking, I was able to find what I needed and get checked out. I liked a lot of the stuff in the store but one thing just absolutely shook me to my core. I am not claustrophobic, but their layout is really confusing and compact. Things are way to close together and it is hard to have a pleasant shopping experience when you are having to squeeze through the aisles. It is also easy to get lost in this store--it is so compact that the bedding and bath and lighting and everything is just kind of fused together. The checkout seems oddly tucked away in a corner instead of being by the exit of the store like all other locations. I get that it is in a mall and I don't necessarily think it is anyone's fault--they needed to make do with the space that they had...but it is not very comfortable being in this specific home goods. Maybe I just came in at a bad time, but it was so kramed that a customer knocked something over and broke glass while I was in there. You have to tiptoe and squeeze around this location. As mentioned, they do still have a good selection of items and I was able to find what I needed so there was no issues there. It is in a convenient location, which is always a perk!

They have rearranged the flow of items over the past year or so? it makes things a little harder for me to get my bearings, but I think the shift is good. I love that it's so close to my gym too. I like to think "Jakes Birthday, Jakes Birthday, what would make 42 year old Jakey laugh?", and end up with a cool sphinx statue, because why not? Or in time with your right and left feet, say to yourself (or even out loud a little)...white ...elephant ...white ...elephant... The staff didn't greet me upon entering and seemed annoyed when I asked a question while using the self-checkout. As someone visiting from out of town, I wasn't aware there was a charge for bags--and while I understand that may be local policy, it still felt off. When you're making purchases, you don't expect to be nickel-and-dimed for basic things like a shopping bag. Between the lack of customer engagement and the extra charges, the experience felt more frustrating than fun. These types of stores are starting to feel like more of a rip-off than a value.

Some store have a larger furniture selection than others, but other than that, they are all the same. What sets the stores part is the customer service. This location there was someone who actually if they could help me find what I was looking for. That doesn't happen very often here. This location has a small furniture selection, so if you are looking for furniture, I would check out a different location.

I purchased a TV Stand today at the Murry Utah Big Lots. We got it home and strung out around the…read moreliving room and we are missing a piece. I called and spoke to the manager who was no help since they didn't have any more in stock and just sold the Floor model (which I would have paid more for if I didn't have to assemble) He told me to call the West Jordan store they might be able to help me and that was that. He should have offered to call the other stores. I want the piece, not to return the item as I want it. West Jordan didn't have the exact one and told me to email the manufacturer. And that was that! I am in tears as this is the last item to put my living room together. I emailed the company, now what am i supposed to do wait 4-6 weeks? Never will go to the Murray store again, West Jordan did try and I was not his customer.

They have tons of things, things that you knew about and want and things that you didn't know existed and now need. They have Japanese snacks and a limited amount of groceries, mostly drinks and ramen. They have a selection of Japanese pens! I bought one. Can't pass up a Japanese pen. Large store, well-lit. One employee to man the register, she was friendly. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Rated by each member of our family and averaged out, the Costco dog scored 3rd place with 21 points. I do think, though, that if a certain few members of the family would have had to PAY for the hot dog it would have ranked higher simply because of the bargain that it is.
