I think this is my first experience at a Dollar Tree. However, from the horror stories that I heard about Dollar Trees in general, I thought my experience was going to be a hot mess. Shockingly, my experience was not that bad. I stopped by here to pick up some cheap kitchen items (a baking pan, aluminum foil, parchment paper and saran wrap). Unfortunately, they did not have the circular baking pan that I wanted. However, I cannot complain that because the other items were pretty cheap ($1.25-$1.75) compared to what one would spend in a regular grocery store ($4+). Ok, so many of the items were generic brands, but hey (IMO), generic aluminum foil works just as well as the brand name varieties. Although I was impressed the value, I was a bit disappointed in the general upkeep of the store. During my visit, I noticed that merchandise was all over the place, and the store looked like they don't sweep or mop the floors throughout the day...or week. In regards to merchandise being all over the place, some of this struggle falls on the customers. Unfortunately, many folks do not feel the need to put things back from where they found them. For instance, I saw someone put frozen items on the shelf where the cereal products are located. Seriously, you cannot walk back TWO aisles to put the items that YOU grabbed back to where they belong? I thought my cashier was super friendly, so no complaints about the service. Since the plastic bags are razor thin, I HIGHLY recommend that you ask the cashier to triple or even quadruple purchased items. read more

I went to this dollar Tree only to find a big mess everywhere! I decided to buy a few items and when walking out the store cashier chases me down and yells at me. He yells at me to give him the basket even though I told him I was going to return it, I felt so humiliated and he left a huge line of people waiting just to chase me! read more

Oh, dear, what happened to this Dollar Tree? I used to come and get goodie bag supplies during the holidays for my students. I was packing 60 goodie bags and this store was clean, well organized, and well stocked. Fast forward to yesterday, this store was not clean, needed major restocking of items, and an influx of new merchandise. Looks like, it is on its last leg. The card section was a disaster. The gift bag section needed major help. I did buy a sympathy card and gift bag. But, they definitely need some major changes to this store. Sorry, to report, but don't waste your time. read more

But I came across Philadelphia water ice the flavors includes Mango, cherry, lemon & blue Hawaiian. Water ice is a stable in Philadelphia a long with a freshly hot pretzel. That how the locals prefer. *Google fun fact* Today, thanks in part to the chain Rita's Italian Ice, water ice is steadily spreading across the country. Founded by a retired Philadelphia firefighter named Bob Tumolo, Rita's began as a small store in Bensalem, Pa., in 1984. Atrocious!!!! This is by far the worst Dollar Tree I've ever been into. Not that one is to expect luxury or anything coming into a Dollar Tree, but at the same time if you have a business shouldn't you take pride in your store? What I saw in here was beyond belief! This is one of the dirtiest retail place I have ever been to. You feel like you are going to a store closing that only has a week left. It is so disorganized and the shelves are bare. I have only been to this store 3 times in the last 6 years and I walk away with the same feeling every time. Go to a different Dollar Tree if you can because it is a waste of time there. Used to be my "go to" place for party supplies but last two times I was in there it was Poorly staffed, so long checkout lines with just one register open, the place was poorly stocked, a complete mess, lots of items were broken AND ALL of the prices have been raised. I understand that "Dollar tree" raised prices to $1.25 across the country; But these people are greedy. Now in this store, balloons are $1.50 and so are reading glasses. I don't know what else they've raised prices on, but Walmart didn't raise their prices on similar items Not going back anymore. read more

Decent store. Takes both cash and credit card. Does not accept Apple / Samsung Pay. Tons of free parking. Located behind the Planet Fitness. This dollar tree is a convenient store to get any essential household items from soap, snacks, cleaning supplies, cards, balloons as well as school supplies. Please note that as of July 2019, they do not have any helium to blow for balloons. There is a nationwide shortage of helium. The store tends to restock key household items everyday. They have very limited grocery supplies, but they have tons of food in cans, toys and candy here for kids. The store is fairly sized. My only compliant is that there is no organization in terms of finding certain household items. Makes you walk through the entire store to find your item. There are tons of checkout lines, but not all open in any given time so expect some wait time. This store does sell refrigerated and frozen grocery items Pricing here ranges from .50cent to 1 dollar. So it's easy to buy many items here as pricing is minimal here. Worth giving this place a try if you are in the area. read more

I'll be honest, I'm a super cheap person when it comes to shopping. I love skipping the front part of stores and going straight to the clearance section. There should be no surprise that a dollar tree is on my list of places to go. This Dollar Tree is horrible, and it pains me to say that since it's the only one near my house. From the minute you enter the shopping center you're met with horrible congestion and even worse drivers. Parking is insane and frustrating to say the least. Once inside you'll find almost empty shelves and there doesn't appear to be any organization going on. The store doesn't stock well, some times they have one of something and staff have no idea when it will be in. This location is also very small in size and feels unbalanced with everything to the left when you walk in. The floor is typically dirty and the overall upkeep of the store is bad. I've spoken with the manager here on several occasions and there's not a lot being done. I'm surprised that based on the reviews corporate hasn't come in and done a full remodel and restructure... this location really needs it. Will never go back to this dollar tree. As far as the store itself goes it was super small, squishy, and terribly unorganized. Only had a couple things I were looking for. The only thing this dollar tree has going for it is it's location. As far as covid standards go it's also terrible. Workers are wearing masks and they do have plastic separating you and the cashier other than that nothing. No hand sanitizer wipes for carts or bottle pumps for their costumers hands. This location is very convenient, but the selection at this Dollar Tree is abysmal. Once I went to buy nail polish remover and there was only one bottle on the shelf! Perhaps the staff was planning on unloading a shipment soon, but I did not get to even ask about it since the only employees I saw were managing the two check out lines six-seven people deep. I enjoy coming here every once and awhile, especially for holiday supplies. But, if you come here for holiday items, come here quick because they run out fast. They have just about everything here-food (they even have a refrigerated sxn), school supplies, toys, party supplies, art supplies, gift wrapping, toiletries, and much more. When I come here, I never seem to leave empty handed. The quality of the items here are generally pretty good, especially for a dollar. At Dollar Tree EVERYTHING costs no more than $1. I'm a huge fan of dollar stores but it really annoys me when a store names itself a dollar store just to entice people. I have a lot of respect for places like Five Below and Dollar Tree because they actually sell things for the prices they claim in their store names. Perhaps the reason Dollar Tree is successful is because it is part of a chain. Quality and consistency is a goal of theirs, and while certain holidays call for inconsistency when it comes to tidiness, you can always count on them to have items for just a dollar (even popular brand items such as Colgate, Little Debbie's, Kleenex, Utz Chips, Energie, Suave, the list goes on...) I find Dollar Tree to especially helpful when it comes to holidays and school supplies. Being a teacher and often having to find supplies for over thirty kids at a time I'm always on the look out for the cheapest prices on quality items. Granted a lot of items are seasonal Dollar Tree does carry a variety of useful items and foods on a regular basis. Here's a quick list: Candy and snacks- Sour Patch Kids, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (8 pk), Hershey's Milk Chocolate (8 pk), Theater sized boxed candies (Mike and Ike, Hot Tomales, Junior Mints, etc.), Twizzlers, Charms Cotton Candy, Andes Dark Chocolate and Mint, Swedish Fish, Skittles, Nerds, Runts, Weaver Popcorn, Utz Chips, Little Debbie snacks, etc... Health and personal care items- Colgate toothpaste, Crest toothpaste, Colgate toothbrush, Suave shampoos and conditioners, VO5 shampoos and conditioners, L'Oreal shampoo, Dial Soap, Gilette shaving creme, Jergen's lotion, Softsoap liquid soaps, Irish Springs and Zest bar soap, Halls coughdrops, Tylenol, Carefree pantyliners, etc. They also carry Disney, Nickelodeon, Palmolive, Ajax, Clorox, and other brands. You can find a great selection of party supplies, houshold items, books, food and snacks, arts n' crafts, and cleaning supplies here at most Dollar Trees like this one. A new thing I like about this Dollar Tree is that they began carrying frozen and refrigerated foods. Don't worry my friends and I have been shopping at Dollar Tree for years and we've never found any spoiled or expired foods. Again, I think it's because of they are well known and are part of a big company. If you haven't checked out Dollar Tree, you really should. I must say you may find yourself addicted and wondering why you never shopped here sooner. There's always plenty of parking both in the front and back of the plaza and this Federal Plaza Dollar Tree is in good company with Micro Center, and TJ Maxx. Beware: Holiday items are often ransacked during busy shopping seasons like Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine's. Try the Dollar Tree on Georgia Ave. in Wheaton or the one on Ft. Meade Rd. in Laurel if you're desperate for certain items and can't find them here. read more

I don't see why anyone would give this place more than one star. This location is awful! The shelves are a complete mess- Nothing is organized. There are random boxes full of merchandise just sitting all around the store, making it cluttered, and the floor is disgusting. Not to mention the long lines. This is one of the bigger $ store with lot of groceries. I came in specifically for clear tape. They didn't have it on the shelf, so I asked one of the associate to check it for me in the back, but he said what's out is what's out. I wonder if it's a policy that they can't check in the back, but this is my second $ refusing to check in the back. I would feel relieved if they at least went to the back and looked. This dollar tree has a wide variety of things to buy. I love their frozen food section. They got good selections when it comes to frozen dinner/lunches.The packaged dry foods aren't so good though. I had bought some cookies and crackers at one point and they tasted stale. There is also a strange gas smell in the store. Customer Service is great but they should have more than two registers open. read more

Staffs are not helpful and they display all the air ballon that they do not have in stock. I suggested that they remove the ones they do not have so people don't need to wait in line for them as it is not efficient for the business and the young man who worked at the ballon section was so rude and yelled and said they are for display only! read more

The staff at this location go out of their way to be mean to the customers. This dollar tree has many items compare to other dollar store in the area but you have to put on your magnify glass to find those items. The store is a big mess with things are thrown all over the places. I ordered a few items on line and the staff here broke more than half of those items. They never answer the phone. Everything here is actually a dollar...and quite a lot of it is actually good stuff. I come here for party supplies (paper plates, cups, utensils, tablecloth covers) a lot since I host a lot of play dates for my kids. We also get school supplies, floss picks and balloons here. It does get crowded and messy on the weekends though. The people who work here aren't the friendliest but they also aren't rude if you ask them a question, etc. Turnover is quick though so if you see something, grab it or it won't be here tomorrow read more

I've now been to Dollar Trees in 4 states (probably about 6 total), and this one is by far the worst. I echo what other reviewers have said: it's super cluttered, there are always boxes and other things blocking aisles, long lines, not well stocked, difficult to naviagate, etc. It's also an odd location with multiple entrances to the building so it was difficult for me to find at first, and is on a very busy street. I went to this one as it's the closest to my apartment, but I am going to try the two in Gaithersburg next that have received better reviews. Still giving two stars as the price is right and "you get what you pay for", but considering I've been to much better Dollar Trees it won't receive more than two. read more
