Having a Ross store nearby is quite convenient and it sells quite a large selection clothes and shoes. Like most Ross stores, this one is large and next to a TJ Maxx store which both can be hit or miss. The TJ Maxx store gives you two major brands which is rare within a few steps away. You are definitely going to find selection as a result. Having also a Harris Teeter right next door is a big plus for being extra convenient. I can hear the song," It is the most wonderful time of the year..." playing on the radio. And, I am on the hunt for holiday decorations and I stopped in Ross on Rockville Pike. They had a large selection of cute holiday decor. There is a security guard in the front of the store, who directed me to the location of the decorations. I had a hard time deciding what to get, but ended up buying a nutcracker, a Minnie Mouse in her pj's, and a cute elf doll. The prices were great! I ended up spending $50 dollars for all 3 things. I also want to thank the nice cashier who double bagged my purchase. I was on my way to the Trader Joe's and didn't want the bag to break. That was above and beyond in the service department. I love this place so much, i can always count on here to find the cutest clothing. But, at the fitting room where you grab your item numbers, there's an african lady who sits on the phone and talks to you with an attitude. She is so rude! i didn't appreciate it at all. I felt as she was disrespecting me, and acting childish as she was talking to other costumers in a nicer way. I think very highly of the team at this store and the people in this neighborhood. I dropped my wallet. A pan handler with a child found it. I went looking for my wallet. The pan handler told me she turned it in at Ross. I walked into the store. The manager immediately recognized my photo from my driver's license, and returned my wallet. I bought the pan handler dinner and made sure she had somewhere to stay with her child. She has an apartment. Merry Christmas! read more

We have been to other Ross' and we have also been to this Ross where they will apply the employee discount even if you don't have you're employee ID. But for some reason, this lady who said she was like an assistant manager, said that she cannot manually put in my sisters employee ID because she needs to bring the physical ID instead. Ross has been my go to spot for Home furnishings. I strongly recommend getting here early on the weekends like 9ish because that parking lot is insane!! However, I will say their layout and how they operate is better than there Gaithersburg location. Most employees here are visible and friendly. The Loss Prevention women very friendly and greeted customers entering and leaving the store. If you look hard, you will find bargains especially if they are gonna go out of season. I haven't even left the parking lot. I wanted to make sure I left a review. This is the worst Ross I've been to in the DC metropolitan area. To be located in an "affluent" neighborhood this Ross is kept so poorly. There is so many nice things. It's just a shame it's so disorganized. All the sizes are mixed in, the racks are extremely close together, the lines are ridiculous and customer service lacks. There should be an overseer to visit these stores on the regular basis or maybe even a mystery shopper. Someone really needs to visit this store and see how the Ross brand is being run into the ground. Perhaps, they should consider hiring more employees, offer overtime, or look into new management. This location could really thrive under the right management. I know people will say Ross is a discount store and you get what you pay for but I beg to differ. It is a discount store but they have some of the best brands. I' won't return to this location anytime soon but hopefully they will see this and work to get the store in better condition. read more

Please for the love of all things that are holy skip this location. First of all the parking sucks! Don't be fooled by the big lot, there's always a million cars. A million cars also means a million people are shopping. I don't. Care what time of day it is- there's so many customers. Next thing, cleanliness- it doesn't exists. This is probably the dirtiest store I have ever been to. Every time I visit there are half empty soda cans, cups and bottles littered throughout the store. Items have been dragged on the floor or spilled on making them virtually unsellable. A lot of the sections aren't filled with merchandise and it makes shopping extremely inconvenient. Checking out is alway a thirty minute task. Why they don't open more registers is beyond me because there's always multiple staff at registers that aren't open. I assume they are waiting to be told to open but it never happens. The only other Ross location I have been too is the Gaithersburg location. While I don't highly recommend that location either, it is without a doubt a better location than the Rockville one. I wouldn't recommend checking this location out. Fitting room workers are unorganized, aggressive, and rude. The worker leaves the fitting room station unattended then makes her round to yell at people for going in after they started to undress in their rooms. People were willing to step out to show her the items but she was banging unnecessarily, putting pressure on customers. Very unprofessional. I agree with a lot of the other reviews here: Overcrowded, unorganized, slow-moving lines, bad customer service and a terrible return policy (keep your receipts for returns). But, I come here because I occasionally find great bargains. When you come to this Ross, you definitely have to have a lot of patience to sift through all the racks of clothes and shoes. The best deals I seem to find are always in their dress department. Now, I always skip the Juniors section, because their shirts in particular aren't made with the best quality. Shoe are a hit or miss, mostly a miss though. You might be able to score some good household items too. You also have to have A LOT of patience when it comes time to pay. I think this is a very bare bones location, and not very well kept. For the fact that they sit in a prime location in the middle or Rockville - they could have been doing wayyyy better! This place really really needs more staff. The lines are ridiculous, regardless of the time of day. Most of the stuff is junk, the shelves are often disheveled, and many of the clientele either don't bathe or use sufficient amount of deodorant. I also often have an unfounded fear of contracting TB while shopping here. Oh and their emergency exit/fire alarm/smoke detector thingie (system) in the back of the store (by the paintings) has been giving the low battery chirp for at least a year. read more

Apparently, this store appeals to many women. Most women, from what I gather, inherently like easter egg hunts for great deals. I'm not a big fan of this store because everything is a free-for-all here. Nothing is sorted by size, color, style...nothing!!! Not to mention the 70s store look doesn't appeal to me. However, I do stop in from time to time, hoping that a bargain will emerge and bubble up to the top, especially when my budget is tight. I visited Rockville pike store yesterday, because of Covid 19 and social distancing, the line to get to the store was around the bloc, but they managed it well inside and outside. one of the associates "Adele," served me. Factoid about shopping: big deals en masse will cause crazies to come out of the woodwork. Such is the case w/ the Rockville Ross. On a weekend, you'd think they loosed wild lions in the store with raw meat hanging on the racks. Protective equipment and a stick to fend off deranged, deal-crazy shoppers is recommended. Location - Like Off 5th Ave is the discount version of Saks, I like to think of this shopping center as Off the Pike. Discounts abound with Microcenter (sells cheap computer parts), TJ Maxx (sells cheap clothes), and Ruby Tuesday (sells cheap food-like products). A Trader Joe's and Mamma Lucia bring the level up a tad. Merchandise - This Ross is HUGE! It's one of the largest ones I've been to in the area. Upon entering, it looks like a really large, really messy room. That's when you roll up your sleeves and get to work. You'll usually be able to find some really good deals, but it'll take you a while. Customers - The natives are very restless here. Women routinely battle w/ the employee working the fitting room over the 8 garment limit and I've seen several arguments break out among customers. The checkout area is too small and again, I've seen several arguments break out. But that's par for the Ross course. If you're in Rockville and have several hours and $50 to kill, you might be able to find some great deals here. My wife found 2 nice dresses for $30. I can live with that. read more

The store is a disaster. It's filthy (dust bunnies the size of rats), completely disorganized, and the selection is extremely cheap quality (even for a Ross). It's also guaranteed that the lines will be at least an hour long, so really it's just not worth the hassle. One thing I will say: You can definitely bargain with the cashiers. I've taken stuff up there without tags and they can never figure out what it's supposed to be. I just keep on saying things like, "This can't be more than $5, it's so cheap." Came here on a whim while in the area for Trader Joes. I didn't need anything at all, but selected a couple of outfits for the kids, shoes, allowed them to pick out a toy. Went to the front to go pay... Holy moly. It looked like Black Friday at Walmart. Easily 30 people in line!!! And this was at 1:30pm on a Tuesday! Waited in line with the kids for about five minutes and moved about two feet. Unfortunately we just set all our items in a nearby cart and walked out. The shoe section at Ross is the epitome of hot mess. Shoes are all over the floor, and are not in any particular order. Sizes are spread out everywhere. They really need to organize. C'mon Ross, make your sales go up, and your customers lives easier. Just hire someone to organize these RACKS! This also applies to their dresses, shirts, and everything. This location is a really busy location, you would think with the amount of business this location gets they would have enough people and staff working on the register.. I was there Friday 4pm I was in line for 30 min to check out everyone was angry and mad. I've been shopping at Ross for years and I usually describe it to friends as a step below Marshalls or TJ Maxx with better deals. The earlier you go, the better the shape of the racks. And they are constantly putting out new merchandise. You'll see something at 5 pm that wasn't there at 1 pm. Expect to find items more like what you would see at Macy's than Bloomingdales. Though I have found Shelli Segal Laundry jackets and pants before! Be ready to search those racks. I go for dresses, panties, bras, housewares, and sheets.
