I was so excited to find some good stuff here since I rarely come in. Just to be greeted by a wonderful not so helpful employee. She had a horrible attitude, no eye contact, no hello...she looked straight and even rolled her eyes because I needed cash back. I was so confused. Let's not mention she had a white LACE face mask. HMM! This dollar tree seemed more organized than a couple other ones I've been to out here, as well as not as crowded! The parking lot was smaller, but not full, which is always good! There was everything you expect from dollar tree, and a couple of food items out I wasn't expecting... all good stuff! :) The workers were nice and pleasant. If you're like me, and one of your primary goals in life is to comparison shop and find affordable items, on the daily, then you, too, are in love with Dollar Tree. This place is amazing, and as the commercials advertise, everything is one dollar (exceptions apply to single-serve candy, which is typically cheaper)! Where else can you find name brand items (Comet, Sunbeam, Shasta [does Shasta count?], Betty Crocker, Palmolive, Windex, Air Wick, etc.) for only $1? I've always been skeptical of purchasing some of their refrigerated products (not sure if this location has a freezer/fridge section since I was there for school and hair supplies) but I'm content with the boxed goodies like cookies, candy, Cheetos and all the other delicious, preservative packed snacks. This location was exceptionally clean, bright and neat. They seemed a little understaffed, then again, I entered about 30 minutes after the store opened. I wasn't able to find one (a sleeping bonnet) of the five items I needed, but they receive five stars anyway for such a clean shopping experience, friendly checkout service and offering me products for at least three times less than other stores would charge. I really like getting a bargain. And you can usually find some sort of bargain here. The store has a selection of goods. I like their party supplies. Paper plates, decorations, plastic ware. Yes, you are not getting the same quality that you might get at another store. But this stuff gets thrown out after a party. During each holiday, I can always find some sort of decorations to buy and take home or to the office. I can usually find some sore of plastic storage containers here to keep my small trinkets. Whenever I stop at a Dollar Store, I have to try to limit myself to spending $10 or I can go crazy and come home with a bunch of stuff that I didn't need because it was easy to justify buying it since it was ONLY $1!! read more

This Dollar Tree has a refrigerated/frozen section which makes it better but also somehow more depressing than all the other Dollar Trees, due to the fact that you can now make yourself a non shelf stable meal completely with Dollar Tree ingredients. I got the beef chorizo and it was as good as any other beef chorizo I've bought. That's because it's the same exact brand as other places, except a little smaller, a lot cheaper, and an infinite amount sadder. When I got to the register I kept asking the nice guy working how much everything was. He even entertained me by saying "one dollar" multiple times until I finally asked "is everything here a dollar?" to which he pleasantly replied "yes." I also bought multiple Cliff bars for a dollar each (they usually cost $2.50 each). All in all this store and it's employees were so pleasant that it might actually be the most depressing Dollar Tree I've ever been to, because it's still a Dollar Tree. read more

Usually have pleasant interactions with employees even when the lines are long. On this particular day (Wednesday 3/11) Connie was the only cashier, the line was outrageously long due to people stocking up and clearing shelves on essentials (most likely because of the virus). When it became my turn I asked if she was the only one working. She replied "no, but California state law says people need breaks and lunches". A simple "yes, but they're on their break" would have been acceptable even with the frustrated attitude. Of course no apology or gratitude for patience (the ridiculous wait or poor staff scheduling is not the customer's issue). read more

Horrible wait!! 2 cashiers and when doesnt even have her light on and then one ladies in line buying all this stuff chatting with the cashier the whole time, making me wait... then she wants to order cases of donuts making us wait longer forgets her money in the car and makes us wait longer and the other line this lady is going back and forth, back and forth picking out balloons for thus customer give me a break!!! I would give the place five stars, but there's an unpleasant smell in the store and I don't know what that is. Before it was a Dollar Tree-it was a rundown thrift shop-so maybe something that is still in the vents. Other than that, you can buy a bag of frozen fruit to make smoothies, big boxes of tissues and napkins and office/art supplies for a dollar each. They also sell gallon water for a buck. I stop by, at least once a week. Unlike other dollar type stores-there are not items... that sell at more than a dollar. read more

This is one of the newer Dollar Trees here in San Diego. Inside, it is like all the other ones... almost down to a T. I brought my four year old dauhgter for the first time and she was AMAZED by all the items one could purchase for just a dollar. I will have to remember this when it comes to rewarding her for good behavior. Outside, parking is a bit rough but I was able to find some close. I personally won't be coming back to this one because it is out of my way, but it's good to know it is here in case I am in the neighborhood. read more

I came here looking for plastic food storage containers and they had a lot more than most dollar trees i've been to have. And i've been to quite a few. The customer service is awesome. They had a pretty good selection of other things, although i was in a rush and just looked through the food aisle and food storage/houseware items aisle. read more

This dollar tree is smaller than other dollar trees. They don't have as much decorations. They do have a fridge and freezer. Their ice creams are awesome! Anyways , I came here looking for holiday decor and there were mostly leftovers . Overall u would come again of course.. Who doesn't love dollar tree! read more

One of the cleanest dollar tree stores I've ever been in! It's never too busy, even around the holiday season. They have their staples of school supplies, birthday decorations, and basic kitchen and household necessities. When you walk in they usually have their seasonal items too. Best. Place. Ever. This is my go-to place for party supplies and BALLOONS. $1 for each helium-filled Mylar balloon. A large selection too! I've been to other locations and they've been out of most balloons or didn't check the balloons to make sure they filled correctly. The result -- a deflated balloon a few hours later. The guy who helped me tonight at this location made sure that all four balloons filled and stayed filled. And when one was rapidly loosing air, he immediately filled a new one without me having to ask. Their shelves are well organized and well stocked compared to other locations too. And it's right off the 163 so even though it's not in my 'hood, it's super convenient. read more

While yes they have a cold food section I am not a fan of this store. Most of the times I have gone to this location, they don't have what I am looking for. Worst dollar tree I've ever been too. I usually go to the one in Mira Mesa but I was close to this one. Just stopped by to get balloons and the girl said she had to ring me up first. That is understandable but I had no idea which balloons I wanted and she didn't even give me a template to choose. After ringing up I had to go to the balloon section and I stepped over one of their carts which they wheel stuff with. The lady said it was a hazard, this is definitely on me (cause it is a hazard), I should've have walked over it. After she blew up my balloons she gave me attitude saying that she'll move the cart for me to leave, and I said I can just go around since she made it such a big deal before. After I said that she said it was really cluttered and messy on that side and there was no place to walk. Very confused why she was giving me attitude, when it wasn't my fault the store was messy. read more

The store itself is as expected: typical merchandise and clean. However, I had a bad customer service experience. The young male in his 20's ringing everyone up had a really terrible attitude: One customer behind me asked him to call another cashier because of the long line and he would not stop making disparaging and degrading comments about her to the other customers. It made us very uncomfortable. Clearly he shouldn't be in customer service (Dollar Tree should be very concerned about what he might do should a real problem occur). read more

I walked in with my son, walking aisle to aisle, over the intercom the cashier goes "attention customers please watch your children as they are not allowed to be unattended." I am a frequent shopper at Dollar Tree, and have been since they opened in Southern California. There is a female that works there that had voiding privileges, blonde hair, and on the larger, taller skde. She is extremely, rude. I don't know what her position is, and I could care less. But, the way she huffed about having to void something that was mistakingly wrung up by a male employee. She actually wanted to argue with me about it. Very very unprofessional. Just a terrible attitude for such a minute task. I will definitely spread the word about the service here. I have seen other employees here in the past give customers bad attitudes. I was up that way for a visit to children's hospital for my daughter afterwards we decided to to stop at dollar tree to get the ingredients to make slime. We were looking for activator my daughter (11 years old) went up to the "Manager on duty" (as he called himself) D.J. And asked if they had detergent or eye drops he turned to her and let out a sigh as if he were bothered by her question and simply pointed down a few isles so my 7 year old then asked because he didn't answer he only pointed he looked at her and said "you didn't hear I said over there" I left it alone and went on about my business we went to pay for our things and he happened to be behind the register again my daughter spoke to him and Thanked him for his help he just looked at her and said nothing never even acknowledged her so I said to him she is thanking you for your help he completely ignored me I know he heard me because I said it 2xs and the second time he looked up at me. I then asked him if I could speak with the manager he slammed his hand down and said with a grin "I am the manager on duty" I said when does the next manager come on duty? He said he couldn't give me that information. I then asked another cashier that was there and another customer that obviously had a complaint about him as well said the district manager was briana and she was also putting a complaint because he was extremely rude to them as well there were 2 other groups of people that said the same thing. I am glad this was a one time visit to this store he needs some extra managerial training and training on how to deal with customers or look for a desk job where he doesn't have to deal people because he is extremely rude! If I could leave 0 stars I would. He also didn't bag everything but charged us for it all! read more
