The coconut flakes flavour tasted exactly like the Chinese coconut cream bun, unique for cupcake but nothing special! The raspberry flavour was just alright for me but the bf loved it! Delicous! Stopped in today with a work colleague to pick up some cupcakes for our co-workers birthday. The shop itself is so pretty and smelled incredible. The lady that helped us choose flavours was super sweet. Each of the cupcakes were so beautifully decorated, they all looked perfect. My friend bought a box of cupcakes for me. She traveled all the way from Mississauga. When she opened the box, we all gasped because the cupcakes had toppled over and the icing was splattered, Pollock-style. I have to say that these cupcakes can last quite a long time. We salvaged what was left of the cupcakes and rushed them to the fridge for CPR. After 1-2 days, the cake part was still really moist. The icing was okay, probably hardened a bit since it wasn't fresh. Overall, they didn't taste stale and I think for what it is - Dolled Up Cupcakes held up to title of being the best (in Sauga). I'm so glad I discovered Dolled Up Cupcakes 2 years ago! This is my go to spot for cupcakes and any occasion that calls for sweets. I love that they are not located in any "downtown" district (ie. Toronto, Port Credit) as it is a pain to drive all the way down there sometimes. This is pretty local and easy to access for me. They are always consistent with their texture, moisture, sweetness, everything! I always check their Instagram to see what flavours they will have on what day during the week. This helps a lot! This was our go to location when celebrating an event. This changed after we were charge a fee for some small decorations that were previously included with pricing. This is a fancy cupcake premises and we already pay a premium for the delicious cupcakes, but I am no longer paying for something that was previously free. There's nothing sadder than dry cupcakes. This review is based on a drop-in, grab-and-go order. In my hunt for a cupcake spot in the west end, I discovered the Yelp reviews for this place, and visited on a weekday mid-afternoon. First of all, the decor is elegant and absolutely lovely. When you walk in, you feel like you stepped into a fairytale. Wonderful ambiance. However, when we visited, there wasn't much selection (I guess that comes with dropping by on a random afternoon). We ordered a few of the mini cupakes just to try - and unfortunately, they were incredibly dry. Zero to none moisture to the point that they tasted stale. The flavour was definitely there but unfortunately, and sadly, they weren't as fresh as you would hope. Perhaps I visited at the wrong time of day. Or, perhaps the cupcakes are better on a made-to-order basis. But regardless, they weren't the best cupcakes I've had. Overall, 3 stars = for decor, reasonable price point, and friendly staff. Whenever someone mentions mini-cupcakes, I immediately think of Kevin Malone (from The Office) saying, "Mini-cupcakes? As in the mini version of regular cupcakes? Which is already a mini version of cake? Honestly, where does it end with you people?" My future sister-in-law had me run in to Dolled Up Cupcakes (DUC) and get fifteen mini-cupcakes. I kept asking, "Are you sure you want the mini? Not the regular? You're sure? I mean, how sure are you sure? Because they're really... Mini." But she wanted her mini-cupcakes. The prices are comparable to everywhere else I suppose (I don't really know about GTA cupcake prices, but they're similar to what I've seen in other cities). It was $1ish ($1.30 or thereabouts) for a mini-cupcake. I ended up ordering eighteen. Because they were so mini. I picked various flavors in multiples of three (Red Velvet, Hint of Mint, Raspberry Bliss, and a few others that I can't remember). I didn't get to try each of the flavors that I purchased, but I was impressed with the three (or four... or five) I did try. Stop judging me! They were mini! They're sweet, but not overly so. Not super dense or as moist as I normally prefer my cake to be, but not dried out and crusty either. They were soft, light, and the flavors were on point. And they looked nice. And mini, so in my mind, it was healthy. And since I had three (or four... or five) of them, I was really healthy that day. Honestly, I can't think of anything to complain about DUC. They accept credit cards, which made me very happy because I don't have one of those Interac cards that you Canucks use for everything. The owner was a really chill guy; my friend and I ended up conversing with him for a bit about his business, and how/why he moved to Toronto from America. It was because of a girl. It always is. Nice guy. He made the experience even more enjoyable. Anything involving dessert (mini or otherwise) is already enjoyable, so his customer service was just... [puts on sunglasses] Icing on the cake. Love love love this place! There are not many cupcake/cake places in Mississauga and Dolled up has definitely been my 'go-to' especially when I cannot travel outside of the the city. They have weekly standard flavours along with daily flavour specials- you can find their updates on their Facebook page. There were a few special occasions and birthdays this summer and for the majority I have bought cupcakes from Dolled up. I also recently got cupcakes for my birthday as well. The cupcakes are all perfectly decorated with the nice buttercream swirl. The cake itself were moist every time I had a cupcake. In the past, my fiancee has bought me custom printed Hello Kitty cupcake cake- it was awesome! If you happen to stumble in when they have the Green Tea cupcake- give it a try, it is yummy:) I also recommend their blueberry cupcake and for the coffee lovers, try the chocolate macchiato. The interior of the store is a purple theme and it is fairly spacious. The shop itself is simple with a few sample pieces of work and a table I am guessing for cake consultations. They sell regular and mini sized cupcakes as well as cakepops. The sample pieces of custom cakes are so pretty. I must add that the baker/owner, she is lovely! I made a visit one day and finally met her. She is very nice and of course incredibly talented. The bakery is located in the Meadowvale plaza with a Goodlife, supermarket and other stores- so be sure to grab a sweet treat before you leave! Dolled Up Cupcakes is one of the best bakeries in the GTA...and it's nut-free. Since my first visit in April, I've been coming here every once in a while to treat myself and whenever I have a gathering with friends/family. The shop is nicely decorated and it feels very welcoming. Mike is always there to greet his customers with a smile. I love that you can always check on their Facebook page to see what flavours are available that day and you can call them ahead of time to reserve whatever you like. Their cupcakes are very moist, and their butter cream/frosting is always nice and fluffy. Best of all, it's not too sweet. (I have an incredibly sweet tooth but I still find a lot of other bakeries make their cupcakes way too sweet.) I've tried about half their flavours and so far, my favourite is green tea...no doubt. Cookies & cream, s'mores please, piña colada, and pumpkin spice are worth mentioning too. It may be a little pricey but it's truly a nice treat every now and then. (If it was less expensive, I may visit Dolled Up Cupcakes a little more than my wallet and body would like me to...) It's also nice to know that whatever is left at the end of the day is donated to local shelters (and I believe after-school programs too). read more

I give the customer service 4 stars but the products a rather lower rating due to the dry cupcakes that I tasted. Cousin ordered a dozen and they looked lovely but it was quite dry and slightly hard on the outside. It was a tad disappointing but the flavour was good just perhaps they were not fresh. My other rating is for a custom order of their vanilla push pops for my daughter's birthday party. They were beautiful and exactly the light pink but I found the actual cake itself to be on the dryer side. It may be a personal preference as I'm used to top notch bakeries around the city and surely Dolled Up Cupcakes doesn't compare on the same league but I agree with other reviewers that it's likely one of Mississauga's best. My favourites are baileys chocolate (didn't know you can have alcohol in your cupcakes. It's awesome.), rainbow bright, hint of mint and red velvet. Their cupcakes got both the look and taste. It is always great to stop by dolled up cupcakes as I venture through Mississauga. Firstly the owners Jane and Mike are amazing people who take great pride in their product and quality ingredients they use to make their cupcakes. I have been here many times, they have made my wedding cake and been part of many other special occasions for me and my wife . The cupcakes are delicious. Favourites would have to be the strawberry (with real strawberry bits in it) and the chocolate mint (mint butter cream really comes thru). My wife's favourite would be the green tea. The other flavours that they have are delicious, but to many to name. The good thing is that they are very active on facebook and new flavours come out every week. Sometimes bringing back old favourites and sometimes new creations. This is definitely a must visit in Mississauga. read more

I love that they have mini cupcakes (they come in boxes of 12) as well as the normal sized ones (box of 6). If you are going to a dinner or lunch gathering or need to bring a treat into the office for your team, this is my new "go-to". The box and the bag that they come in are very pretty too. Like many others, I went here because of the nut-free kitchen. Luckily, they are able to accommodate those with other allergies as well. They have helped me out a few times when I needed to order special cupcakes with little notice. They are a very "yes" attitude bakery, but the only time I got denied is when I needed a birthday cake for the next day and they told me no, they couldn't, but they could do cupcakes for the next day which wasn't my first choice, but hey I was still grateful they could help me at all. Established about 2 years ago, I've seen the popularity of Dolled Up Cupcakes sky rocket to a level where they are churning out hundreds of cupcakes a day only to be sold out by the day's end. On my most recent visit, I saw a few stacks of big boxes that could hold a few dozens of cupcakes at a time for a customer corporate order. And it's very apparent as to why the moment one bites into a cupcake from this cupcake shop. Light, fluffy and decadent, with none too much of grease that plagues other cupcake bakeries. The frosting, fresh and perfectly balanced that it does not overwhelm you. The classic, red velvet and cookies and cream, the best I ever had. A lot of care has gone into baking these fresh treats daily, and it shows. No matter what flavor you choose, you are guaranteed to enjoy it. Lastly, their chocolate cupcakes, somehow is just balanced with the right amount of sweetness and chocolate taste. I could eat these for days and not get tired of them.
