Apparently I was here 9 years ago! I knew they had multiple locations but wasn't sure if this was the same one. I popped for an early morning visit two mornings during a recent work trip. Along with trying their delicious honey cinnamon latte, I picked up a bag of beans to take home. The lattes were delicious both days and the staff was down to business and efficient. The space was clean, filled with natural light and featured a large pup-friendly patio out front. The location is equidistant between Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile. They also offered a spread of baked treats like donuts and muffins that appeared to be from a fellow local business. The donuts looked so good! The front cooler case also featured kombucha, local chai tea and other on-the-go beverages. Overall, a swift and positive experience. read more

With the onsite of working from home and not being allowed to go into your normal office building for those couple of years, I really really missed getting my favorite drink from here. Once you find your go-to drink, it's hard to stray away from that! The Mexican mocha with Oatmilk (since has been renamed...will update later with new name) was so delicious and just as I remembered. Came back 8 years later and they're still doing great! This is a bright, high-ceiling coffee shop with a small grocery type section of snacks and drinks. They have a small menu of various espresso, tea, and coffee options. They have some snacks that are gluten-free (rice Krispy treats, gummies, dried fruit, chips, pop corn, etc.). I ordered an oat milk cortado that came out piping hot in a for-here glass and saucer. They seem to default to to-go containers so stress whether you want a mug/glass if you're staying. The have typical coffee shop jams on low. With lots of seating and plugs or extension cords, it's a great place to work. The ambient noise was loud for a Zoom call so I went into a hallway off their side entrance with no trouble. Also wifi is listed near the bar. They have a single all-gender bathroom that needs a code to use. Next time: let's not wait for another 8 years! read more

Cute coffee shop in Chicago with the main draw (for me) that they carry vegan doughnuts from Beacon Doughnuts!! They carry a variety of flavors and not just 1 token vegan doughnut. I tried the raised glazed brioche, birthday cake and apple fritter- all amazing!!! Some of the best vegan donuts I've tried. Also looks like their menu has other vegan pastries that I did not try. Coffee-wise, they have the standard offerings of espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos etc.), drip coffee. They also have some specialty drinks such as pumpkin chai (seasonal?), nutella mocha, Chicago smaug (earl grey latte), and fresh pour over coffee. Tried the pumpkin chai (homemade chai) with oat milk which I am told is vegan with no honey. WOW! Delicious chai. It is on the spicy side with more ginger than other chai I've had. I enjoyed the gingery kick myself! It went very well with the pumpkin and was a rich drink. I added a shot of espresso to make it dirty. I tried their drip coffee the next day-- also very good! They have a variety of refrigerated drinks that seem local, such as kombucha, iced chai, and also sell jenni's ice cream! They also have some merchandise such as Dollop branded mugs/ tumblers, and coffee beans. The store is brightly lit with high ceilings, and lots of sitting space between the long window seats and large tables (long banquet style), and a cozy couch/lounge area. Came two days in a row on a Friday and Saturday morning and both were equally busy, and despite lots of seating it was mostly full and taken up. Definitely a popular spot in this part of town! There was a line for coffee so give some extra time when getting your coffee/pastry. Overall, a solid coffee spot with great coffee and delicious treats, and very vegan-friendly :) read more

Best dark chocolate donut I've had in a long time. Even though we were visiting, I loved they had work spaces and a pay as you go printer for their customers. You want to bring your work to this lovely coffee shop and just sit for a few hours. They serve a variety of drinks and do offer a limited selection of food items. Pre-pandemic they had more baked goods, snacks, sandwiches, etc but now the food menu has really been trimmed to be very minimal. My go to drinks are their honey cinnamon latte (when I need caffeine) and turmeric chai (when I don't need as much caffeine). They have the best prints on their cups, completely Chicago and totally adorable. Their sizes are more of the European variety, so a small is truly a small. Their lattes are very strong. I drink coffee daily and a small honey cinnamon latte from Dollop will keep me going for an extra few hours. read more

First time in Chicago and while walking from Union Station I saw this lovely coffee & tea shop. The name was inviting and drew me right in. Upon entering the Dollop I noticed how spotless this Cafe is. I was greeted right away by an employee behind the counter and he engaged with me immediately. His customer service was incredible as he made my coffee order he asked about my day and offered popular places to see in the area. I ordered a 12oz coffee with cream. The flavor was so smooth and the temperature was perfect. Thank you so much for providing such an amazing customer experience. BRAVO....I will definitely be back when I visit Chicago again. Meh, it was ok. They could use a better system of organizing the drinks and when they come out. They just shout the order "iced latte" or whatever specialty drink they have, which causes a lot of confusion. If they just shouted out people's names, or order numbers it would prob be better. The build your own bagels were ok. Cream cheese was good and I added tomatoes and avocados. The bagel did end up getting really hard in some parts, but I ate around it. The coffee was a let down. The iced latte was just so watery. The way the mixed the espresso and the ice just made it really meh, even though I had additional espresso shots in it, it still didn't taste very strong. Eek. If it weren't for their misleading menu prices, I'd give this place five stars as it has everything I look for in a cafe: interesting menu, wifi, outlets (soo many outlets!), and seating. They clearly lean into being a co-working space as there's even a printer for use. Unfortunately the prices on their menu are incorrect and not updated, and there's no signage that indicates otherwise. The $4.99 iced lavender vanilla latte seemed too good to be true and it was: my total came to $7. The cashier told me the discrepancy was due to not being able to get someone to update the boards--I won't fault them for that, but they should at least put up a piece of paper near it saying so or have a correct menu somewhere. read more

First coffee on the first day here in Chicago for the weekend! My wife had the Honey Cinnamon Latte for obvious reasons (she loves both those things lol). I had just a black coffee (as recommended by the barista). The Coffee was not really good, personally. I can see how a lot of people would enjoy it for the smooth "cold brew"-like taste. But it's just not my cup-o-coffee, if you feel me. The Honey Cinnamon latte, however, was fire. It was pretty dang good & im not really a sweets person. They even added a nice heart latte art for added flare. The interior decor is amazing. I loved the brightness and natural light that just comes through the whole cafe. A very nice & modern feel that I'm accustomed to. Little to no wait to order and find a seat. (Came at 10am). Prices are very low as compared to New York coffee ($4.65 for Honey Cinnamon Latte & $2.60 for a medium coffee). I'd come back again and maybe try their specialty drinks. Skip the coffee if you're an avid Starbucks black coffee drinker like me. read more

You know when you're in the mood for something a little special? Not a drip coffee, but maybe a half sweet mocha with oat milk? That's when I go to Dollop. The inside is bright and hip - you'll usually find people working on their laptops or catching up. The chairs are actually really uncomfortable, so I tend not to stay for too long. They have free WiFi and outlets too. They have a nice selection of speciality beverages - I have to say Dollop was an early adopter of offering oat milk and the origin of where my love for oat milk started. Their drip coffee and cold brew can run on the pricier side so I usually choose to splurge on a *fun* latte or chai. A hack! They have great pastries and a few bites. I create my own bagel with an everything bagel, hummus, avo, and tomato and it's just around $5. So good! Depending on the day, the wait can be a little while to get your drink, but I notice they've been staffing better and getting faster at this. This is one of my favorite neighborhood go-to coffee spots. I have tried the honey vanilla latter, cherry almond latte, and my favorite the lavender latte and the coffee never disappoints. The pastries are also very good and I enjoy the kale cheddar biscuit and spinach cheese danish the most. They usually sell out of these by early afternoon, so I try to grab one when I can. The ambiance is conducive to studying and remote work with tables and chairs taking up the bulk of the space. It usually isn't too noisy and has excellent open lighting. My kind of coffee shop. After my morning run around Navy Pier, a quick search on Yelp brought me to Dollop Coffee & Tea. I got in some photos before my phone died on me, which left me a little uneasy because I was worried about how I would get back to my hotel. Thankfully, I remembered the way back. Dollop has a delicious and strong cold brew. I also had an Almond Croissant. Great quality stuff in here, and for a reasonable price. The offerings are quite large. I sat outside on one of the tables and enjoyed the people watching and beautiful summer weather. There is plenty of seating inside and outside of Dollop. Probably one of the biggest coffee shops I've ever been to. They're not often this big. The décor, spacious seating, and overall attractive qualities would keep me coming back....If I lived in Chicago. On a Thursday morning, my husband and I decided to visit the Navy Pier and make our way to The Art Institute. We decided to find a coffee place nearby this are and came across Dollop Coffee. I read in reviews that the Mexican Mocha was worth trying. Being a lover of hot chocolate and still jet lagged, this drink was made for me!! I got this hot as it was chilly being next to the lake, and my husband got himself an Iced Vanilla Latte. He found his drink having a very good taste of lavender. It wasn't very sweet but the bartender expertly adjusted the taste to his liking. She also was very good at making my latte art! Inside this coffee shop is a roomy environment filled with greens and browns. It was filled with quite a bit of people who were just hanging around and enjoying their coffee, or doing some work off their laptop. It wasn't too packed where there were no available seats, but a healthy level of people were in the building for 11AM. If we lived here, I could see ourselves visiting this spot often for our usual and doing some work there! read more

Came here to get work done and kill some time while in the city. The space is wonderful, naturally lit during the daytime from huge glass windows. The furniture and decor is modern with succulents and wood accents throughout the coffee shop. It was fairly quiet, making it easy to get work done. Plus, there are some comfy black couches in the corner for those that want to relax a little. While I was there, I decided to try their honey cinnamon latte. It was $4.10 for a small, which was fairly expensive compared to their other options. The coffee itself was bold and on the bitter side. I couldn't taste the honey or the cinnamon which was disappointing. I enjoyed the coffee but it seemed I could have gotten a normal coffee and it likely would have tasted the same. I wasn't particularly impressed with their coffee but did enjoy the environment. This is a great place to get some work done while in the Streeterville area. read more

Coffee isn't made right here. Watched as the barista making my drink missed the cup as she poured the espresso, milk was also poorly steamed. They all seemed busy talking to one another. Additionally, the front desk lady yelled at me when I asked where the bathroom was and obnoxiously waved her arms saying it was a guest area-- as if I was trespassing.
