They meet you at the door with fast gracious service with smiles. Plenty of waitresses. Great diner food professionally prepared. Floors and tables are noticeably spotless from top to bottom. Tourists coming through always being met by friendly locals who give their recommendations on what to order. All you can eat spaghetti on Tuesdays after 4pm. Unbelievable desserts also. Dolly's is a classic diner that serves really good comfort food. We had breakfast here today and it was very good. The bacon, egg and cheese breakfast hoagie and Little Bopper breakfast are good, and the portions are decent size. The service was fantastic (big shout out to Sabrina our server). This place was amazing! I got a double bacon mushroom swiss burger; it was probably one of the best burgers I've had. I also got a milkshake and it was so good, thick and creamy! Our waitress was very sweet and helped us when we were unsure of what to get since the menu is a little big. Everything my family and I got was great. We were traveling home from Indiana to our home in NC. For dinner, we usually stop at a place to sit down and get out of the car. This diner had great reviews, so we gave it a shot. We arrived at about 6:30pm on a Wednesday. They were slammed. Luckily, there was a larger table available for our party of five. The service was good with the waitress checking on us and refilling drinks often. The food was okay. We had to wait quite a bit probably because they were busy. The sausage, burger, and pancakes were all a bit over cooked. We ate most everything, but it wasn't stellar food. Still, if we have the chance to eat here again, I think we would stop. read more

Awesome diner! Real homemade food! We travel thru Princeton a bit and don't know how we missed it. My husband had a cheesesteak omelet with hash browns, I had a cheesesteak hoagie with hash browns. We had no room for dessert. Next time will, they all looked delicious. Thanks Dolly!!! read more

We were ecstatic to find a busy diner in West Virginia that apparently is well loved by the community. It reminded me of a much larger Waffle House with better food. It's a nostalgic little place that incorporates 50s terminology on their menu. They have plenty of staff milling about, some working extremely hard, others? Not so much. Namely, our waitress. She came to our table at least 3 times to start our ticket, but walked away as we started to speak. The table behind us asked for more water, another time the cook called out that an order was ready...she never said anything, just walked away. She never greeted us, never told us her name, no pleasantries at all. When she finally came back to take our order, she just looked at us, never apologized. It was strange. She was spied sneaking off to eat or drink a few times, while just repeating " I'm working on it" whenever we asked for something. This place clearly is very busy and perhaps it was nearing the end of her shift, because her attitude wasn't seen in the rest of the staff, who all seemed very busy, but understood the customer experience. The food was good. The fries with their branded seasoning were delicious. The salad looked fresh. The portion sizes were plentiful. I don't regret stopping in for lunch, just hope that server gets it together. read more

Stopped for lunch on our way to Tennessee. Got there around 12:30 and the friendly hostess took our phone number because there was a wait. We we called within 10 minutes. Not bad considering they were only seating half the diner due to Covid. Our server was very nice and took our order quickly. We both got cheeseburgers and they were great. We were really excited about visiting this place after reading the great reviews but left feeling disappointed. The place was slammed because it was Father's Day and our server was working hard. The food was your average diner fare but our waitress told us up front that "we're out of grits, no gravy, can't make Rueben's, out of green beans and fried cauliflower". We ordered fish with a baked potato and hamburger steak with a baked potato. We both had side salads which were shredded lettuce with a few tomatoes. When the fish arrived it was with a plate of fries. The fish portion was standard sized and had come fresh from the freezer. My hamburger steak was okay and the baked potato, while small, was fluffy. The food was uninspired but ok. Where Dolly's shines is at dessert and while I didn't see the strawberry rhubarb desserts I was hoping for on the dessert list, the Lemon Lush we got to share delightfully delicious. All the desserts we saw looked amazing. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. Like most diners, the kitchen is open and you could hear the frustration in the cook's voice as the flow of people/orders just kept coming. Not sure I would return for meal but would go for coffee and a dessert anytime. read more

Update: The only small "ding" that I noted in my first review was about the bun for the cheese steak. Now I'm sure the change had zip to do with my first post, but they sure did correct the issue in a big way. That deep fried bun will change your life!!! Really over rated, yes its a diner. I understand expectations shouldn't be high. But I was excited as it reminded me of my hoke in Ga (I live in Pa now). But for all the positive ratings and how packed it was, it was not worth the price of almost $50 for 2 people in an old school diner. The service was eh and as someone with an allergy, I wasn't reassured. I ordered the cheesy grits and strawberry and cream waffle. The waffle itself was cold. No heat to it at all.
