Ali's has Guatemalan food prepared to order or from the steam table. Kitchen was busy, so I chose from the steam table. Chicken stew, rice, beans, and some veggies. First time I've had lunch served by the pound from a Spanish place! Food was fresh & tasty but it cost more than expected at $7.99/lb. Got two house made tortillas as well. Would stop in again.

The food turned out to be utterly delicious - we got the Guatemalan chicken stew kind of dish (pollo guisado), rice, 2 kinds of black beans, and plantains. The chicken dish was so fresh, and surprisingly light and very flavorful. The black bean paste was tasty too. The lady running the place asked if we wanted tortillas. So glad we said yes. They were thicker than Mexican tortillas, but light and slightly spongey and not dry. They were making them fresh inside, I watched them make these. I haven't had tortillas this tasty since we vacationed in Guatemala some years ago. The horchata was good too, not too sweet. Families were coming in, it was a very authentic kind of place and the food had a home-cooked taste. Theres's pre-made food, but you can also order from the menu. We were there on Saturday, around 11:30am, so the food was just being prepared for the day, but I think they cook throughout the day. Must say also a very friendly and gracious kind of place. A really fantastic surprise! Wish this place would open a location in Manhattan.

The menu offered a wide variety of choices and the only difficulty we had was deciding what we wanted to try. We took home beef, spinach, chicken, and mac and cheese empanadas. We also ordered rice and maduras ... Tanya even threw us a sweet potato as a sample to try. We found the food to be fresh and flavorful. The prices were reasonable. We were able to enjoy this food for three days! We were very pleased and will definitely return.

All the empanadas arrived hot, and the french fries warm. This was great because my order was coming from a few towns over via delivery. I was going back and forth in my mind in reference to the amount of stars. The beef empanadas were delicious. Filled with plenty of beef, crusty and flaky crust. However, the cheese didnt have the pull I expected. The dessert churro empanada I couldnt really tell what the filling was supposed to be. However, it had plenty of cinnamon sugar on the outside. **My one clause for this review is give Alotta a chance**. As I will be doing the same. Ordering via a delivery service like Doordash its Very hard to have the full experience as if You dined, in or picked up the order yourself.

They even pop into the grocery store next door to them frequently to buy fresh ingredients as they prepare food, nothing frozen or sub-quality. Almost unheard of in the dining experience today. The chef who prepares the food is always making the most mouth watering, addicting meals and appetizers. The food looks equally delicious. It smells amazing. All made to order and the portions are generous. They are so friendly. We have literally never had a bad experience with them in over 4 years. Even if a mistake was made on an order, they have always been courteous and apologetic, they immediately remedy the problem in which everyone is happy. I just love the owners...I think Brewster is very lucky to have them in their town. We have several favorites on their menu but honesty, we haven't found a dud yet. Their hollandaise sauce is scrumptious and addictive!! I could eat it on an apple. The salads are fresh and creative. The specials are always a treat. For the prices, which seem a little high....i don't think they are. They provide fresh food, prepared by a legit professional who has common sense and a great knowledge of flavors and flavor combos. They give generous potions and you never feel like you were ripped off when devouring their creations. I would eat here daily if we could. I love supporting small local business and I love supporting good people just as much. They are the best. I'm getting hungry thinking about the waffles, chili and hollandaise sauce.

Tip number 2) Water should be brought to the table as soon as possible, especially if a coughing customer requests it. Don't snap at the customer because she made a simple request. Prices have gone up and customer service has gone down, so we will like pass on this place from now on.
