So, maybe I'm lazy. Maybe I'm just crazy busy, but I avoid my laundry at all costs. Take the dogs for a walk, go grocery shopping, even visit my parents in the 'burbs. Avoidance is my specialty when it comes to doing laundry. Last week, my in-unit washer/dryer broke--NOOOOOOOOOO. This meant that I was going to have to walk my hella-ton laundry basket down four flights of steps (which wouldn't have been THAT bad), but that meant that I would have had to walk my hella-ton laundry basket back UP four flights of stairs--that would have sucked. So, being the resourceful gal that I am I did some Yelp-search to see what kinda options I had. I was leaning to go towards drop off/pick up service, but with the crazy life style I lead, it's hard to be there at dead lines. Then, I found Dolphin. (can you hear the angel voices singing?!) Yes, it's expensive, but the whole hassle of packing the car up, lugging the laundry up and down 4 flights of stairs is eliminated. On your first order, you get 25% off, and a bag that they FOLD your laundry up when you have it returned. Only down side is that pick up and delivery is from 8-12 in the AM (M-Sat). If you're not home, it kinda sucks, unless if you're comfortable leaving it out on the back porch. read more

I have to agree with some of the reviews on here. For a couple of months I used Dolphin and i twas fine, but the quality of their service went majorly downhill. I started getting things that weren't mine, some of my clothes started missing. The absolute worst was when I sent a batch of clothes and the clothes I got back were all stained hot pink (I don't even own pink clothes). Not just that, three shirts had burn holes in them (how does that even happen?), two other shirts had ripped sleeves. In total about 23 tops / pants were completely destroyed. To make things worse, I've been trying to get in touch with their management about this, and there is no way to get in touch with anyone at this company. I've sent countless emails, calls, voicemails, and to date the only response i've received is "we'll call you soon". That was 2 weeks ago. I think they've gone out of business? We've used them for several years for my work, and they've mostly been great. Sometimes slow, but always reliable. About a year ago it started to go downhill. They notified us that we hadn't been billed for all our past services - some of which were a year prior! I started to have a hard time scheduling pick ups. And recently, I couldn't get through to anyone at all - nor can our accounting department! I hate to do it, but I'll have to start looking for a new cleaning service. :( read more

I've had the same experience as other Yelpers here -- had GREAT service from Dolphin for two years, but in early 2013 I started having problems. They wouldn't pick up on time, and then wouldn't pick up at all unless I called them. In the past five weeks, they've picked up on time only once. I've emailed and left phone messages with zero response. At the moment I have been calling them every day just to try to get my keys back from them and their voicemail isn't working. Will definitely be cancelling my service with them....as soon as I can talk to an actual person. read more

I love Dolphin laundry!!! I leave the laundry in my apartment building package room and less than 48 hours later it's all clean, perfectly folded (how do they get things so flat is beyond me as well) and every time I call to arrange for a pickup, the nice lady on the phone knows exactly who is calling and what apartment building I live in before I even tell her. I know...caller ID, yet still, she's got a great memory! read more

Dear Yelp Community, I write this notice to explain to you the absolutely horrid experience that my wife and I had with Dolphin Laundry service. To preface my story, let me explain that my wife and I were loyal customers of Dolphin for nearly all of 2012. In December, we dropped off a hefty bag of clothing for pickup. The next day, to our disappointment, our clothing was not returned. After 3 (please note that all of my counts are accurate, not exaggerations) phone calls and two voicemails to the company, we finally spoke with a representative. The rep told us that there must have been a mix up, and that they would look into the issue. Days went by with no response, and I followed up with another 3 phone calls and set of voicemails. After nearly 3 weeks of no response, I finally was able to get in touch with someone on the management team. The manager admitted that Dolphin had lost our clothing, and that they would reimburse us for our lost clothing. Great! I thought, finally this issue will be resolved. The manager said that the check was issued, and that we should receive payment in a few weeks. I waited a few weeks, and received no check. AGAIN, I was forced to make more follow-up phone calls to Dolphin... After 5 more phone calls, I finally was able to get in touch with a manager at Dolphin, who apparently had never heard of me, or my lost clothing issue. As I walked this person through the challenges I've had, they dismissed me, and told me that the other manager did not have the authority to tell us that we would be reimbursed. I probably had another 10 phone calls into the Dolphin owner and management, with no response. This organization truly treated me poorly, and I was very insulted by the lack of response and customer service. As a small business, it's important for an organization to know when they make mistakes, and should have the integrity to rectify their wrongs. In addition to the costliness of lost clothing, losing a bag of laundry is seriously annoying. The icing on the cake is the 5+ hrs of wasted time and aggravation following up with these guys... I caution any person to work with this organization. Their customer service was atrocious and their business integrity is seriously lacking. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the customer service associate who answered when I called for pickup was very courteous and informative. It's just too bad I have no idea if any of the things he told me were true, because no one ever showed up to pick up my laundry. It's really hard to find laundry pickup in my neighborhood; I guess everyone thinks that coming here will get them shot. There's a laundromat just down the street from my apartment, but thanks to work I can never make it during the day--and okay, maybe there's a point about getting shot, since I don't feel safe going at night. So I was pretty happy to find Dolphin. I called them up, got a nice guy (I think his name was Josh?), and talked through how they prefer to do things, what their turnaround time is, pricing, how the laundry's handled, etc. He told me when pickup times were in my area, and gave me a window for the following day. No one came. Not in that window, not before it, not after. I tried calling. That day, the next day, and the day after--no one picked up the phone. I even triple-checked their business hours to make sure I wasn't somehow calling during the one hour when they refuse to answer the phone for lunch, or something. Nope. Just completely ignoring the phone, and apparently ignoring their customers. How are they supposed to make money if they just never show up to do the work? I'm just really glad I never gave them any credit card information. read more

I used Dolphin Laundry for the first time when the laundry room in my apartment building was closed for remodeling. Service was good, my clothes came back clean and on-time. However, I used them recently this past week and when I went to pick up my laundry bag, my clothes were not it, they belonged to somebody else. When i called to find out where my laundry was, I was immediately frustrated by the fact that you have to leave a message. A "live" person does not answer the phone -- ever! I got a call back, and I got the feeling that looking for my clothes was not a priority. I asked to speak to a manager, and did so. He was confident that my laundry would be found and delivered the next day. He also promised that he would call the next day to check in and let me know the status. But, he did not call the next day. I left two messages for him with no call back. I then had to leave another message on the main office answering machine and finally received a call back about 2:30. I was told that my laundry was found, but it was in different places and they had to piece my order together! I was also told that my laundry would be delivered by 5:00 pm. Not surprisingly, it was not delivered. My laundry was finally delivered at 7:00 pm in a clear plastic bag with a few holes in it. I never received a clear explanation on what happened, nor did I receive a sincere apology. After all of this, they still charged me! I later found out that another woman in my building had her laundry lost and it took over one week to find it! Dolphin Laundry has terrible customer service and does not live up to its promises. I will never use their service again and I will make sure to let my neighbors know what happened to me. read more

This laundry service was great for a couple years, but something happened to their level of service the past few months and it is no longer possible to speak to anyone in management. After I started noticing a decline in service (items missing, items received that were not ours, socks no longer mated, etc) I called several days in a row to discuss it with management and no one ever returned my calls. Finally I had no choice but to discontinue the service and go elsewhere. read more

I love the idea of a dry cleaning and laundry delivery service--more dry cleaners should offer it. However, I just received back a large amount of dry cleaning from Dolphin that clearly was not really cleaned and still had animal hair, fuzz and/or small food particles or stains on it. My clothes didn't smell clean and were stretched out and wrinkled (issues that clothes that were actually cleaned do not have). Substantive issues with their cleaning aside, I was told my order would be ready in a week, and it took more than 2 weeks, at which time they dropped about 1/5 of my order in a puddle and had to redo it (and did so poorly). When I complained, they offered me a 5% discount on future orders--wow, way to offer an appealing solution. I will not be back. read more

Update: I was sincerely hoping that Dolphin would clean up their act, but they have actually gotten worse. It's taken longer and longer to get stuff back. When it does come back, I've had other people's items in my laundry (and assume I'm missing things as well). I've returned the items to them in a separate bag with a note, only to have those same items returned back to me again in the laundry. Recently I've heard of people having their entire bag of laundry lost. I was afraid that happened to me when our clothes went MIA for about 4 days. Of course, you can never get anyone on the phone and no one ever calls back. One woman in my building actually drove to the facility to find out what was going on and she got no answers. Basically, the people that work there just do NOT care, and it shows. I was hoping they can get their act together and be the great company they once were, but it's just not worth the risk and aggravation. I will not be using this service again. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! I began using Dolphin Services about 4 years ago. At first they were great; however, they have gotten horribly out of control. I have my laundry picked up and delivered the same times every week for 4 years! The past couple years the service is very irregular and normally I have to call. When I call to find out if they are coming I first have to leave a voice mail, secondly, IF they call back they always have an excuse "drivers sick," "trucks broke down," "I was in meetings all day" ect. NOT PROFESSIONAL at all. More and more my pieces of clothing are missing or I end up with someone else's stuff. According to their site they wash only your items at a time so there is no mix up but YEP this is happening. THERE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE--they need new management! read more

This is a GREAT service- highly recommended! I moved into an apartment that did not have laundry on site, and after a few months of taking my clothes to the local laundromat I decided to try out the Dolphin delivery service to save some time. It's hard to imagine how I got along without it! The staff is very friendly, and all I have to do is leave my dirty clothes by the door and the next day they come back completely clean and neatly folded. For anyone who doesn't have time to do laundry or just hates doing it themselves I would definitely go with this place! read more
