Not too bad for an authentic Italian restaurant in Carson. The location is kind of weird, next to a train track and across from a mechanic shop. Inside is really dim and the older lady who works there, possibly the owner, isn't too friendly. We ordered pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, and salad from there. All of which were really good. During lunch, unless you plan on taking some home, try the smaller portions because their plates are HUGE. The only thing I wasn't happy about was when we ordered take out for 13 people, they tried to convince us that we needed 13 orders of spaghetti AND 13 orders of lasagna. Five stars for not giving a shit about special Yelpers precious feelings. Sure, the place looks like it's about to fall over and the staff looks like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world but the food is good and the vibe is as throwback as it gets. My parents would bring us to Domenick's as kids and even though everyone's doing their own thing we try to continue the tradition and take our kids. They like the pizza, Ma and the wifeys like the lasagna, Pops likes the blue cheese dressing, I like it all. Often times I won't even order and just mooch off of everybody since the portions are huge. The steak with mushrooms and onions is classic, the pork chops with lemon butter and capers delicious, the linguine with clams is so good it makes you want to slap a stoolie. Domenick's is a classic Italian/American red sauce joint. Dom takes pride in his home made meatballs. Like most everything on the menu the gravy (sauce) is good but not great (nothing like mama mia!) - pizza is decent. The sausages are very good - some of the best in the area. The sirloin is also very good. Great atmosphere with Dom himself in the house most of the time. Old school feel with red vinyl booths and lacquered tables (dont see these any longer). The first time I went here with my husband it was pretty so-so, but I thought it was great because the lady that served us was so sweet that it just made the taste a little better. (Weird I know) But then I thought it would be a good idea to bring my family here....I was so wrong. The first time I brought them there the waitress lady was a bit rude, she mostly ignored us while she greeted everyone else who came in like they were closely related to her. But we still tipped pretty well because we thought well maybe shes just having a bad day. So not to long ago I wanted pizza and since this place isn't TOO far from my house and the pizza isn't too bad my family and I decided to stop her again. It was the same lady again and this time her attitude wasn't as hidden as before. She asked for our order like we were her worst enemy. And on my way to the bathroom I caught her talking rudely about us (or so I believe because the look on her face is one of when someone gets caught, talking well crap). When I went back I to the table I mentioned it but since I was waiting for my brother to come we stuck it out. When my brother finally arrived he brought my little nieces with him. When I was holding on to my little niece the rude waitress came back and started to set the table. My brother was standing at the end of the table getting ready to leave, but when the waitress walked around him she looked up at him like he was the plague. It was a look that was so ugly we all decided to leave. But that's not the real reason for the low score that was just an experience I had. So about the food... The pizza was pretty good but once it goes cold it's pretty gross. I don't get it really usually that happens with cheap cheese. The pasta I ordered was not so great as well, the noodles were extremely soggy both times I ordered any kind of pasta. But however I will say that their ravioli is good. The worst of the worst though is the meat and cheese salad. It had luncheon meat cut up into strips with mozzarella cheese and garbanzo beans swimming in oil and vinegar with a hint of lettuce. I was hoping that it would be better since I paid about 5 dollars for it but I was let down. So that's my review to break it down bad waitress, pretty good pizza and evil meat and cheese salad. I would definitely not come back here. I ordered the medium pizza with pepperoni and olives. The tasted spongy and not much flavor. It does get you full, but the flavor is blah (if I wanted to just get full, I could go to ceasers). The price is way to high for the quality, and they only allow one refill. The service is lazy and they like to stare at you while they sit down. Kinda sad, I remember this place being good when I was a kid. It's a shame they went down so bad. read more

I bought a large pizza to go here last weekend, and in a word it was - Horrible!. I called ahead and the lady said it would be ready in 20 mins. (I live about 15 mins away). When I got there, there were two people in front of me at the pickup line, and the first one was having a hard time deciding what she wanted to order. It was probably another 15 mins before I was waited on. The pizza looked ok, but the pizza box was a soggy on the bottom, so I placed napkins under it on the way home. When I took out the first piece, it drooped down and all the toppings slid off! It was then that I noticed that the toppings were all in the center of the pizza, with a large border around the outside with just sauce and cheese. It looked like the cook had mixed all the ingredients in a bowl and then dumped them in the middle and spread them out some. Then put cheese on top to cover everything. Each slice was soaked all the way through with oil or something, making each piece too soggy to pick up. I ate one and a half slices, then threw the rest in the dumpster. The combination of the soggy crust and the tasteless mash of ingredients made it not worth eating. I know this place gets lots of business, so maybe the other dishes are better prepared, but I will not be ordering a pizza from them again. read more

I haven't tasted the pizza yet so I may update this if I ever go back to try it. This is a pretty small, hole in the wall type joint. The interior is really old school looking but has interesting and funny pictures/articles on the walls. I came here with my mom and brother. My mom had dined her previously and thought the food was ok so we decided to try it. First off, the service was terrible. We sat there for 15 minutes before anyone came over to see if we wanted drinks. After that it was another 15 minutes of waiting for someone to come back to take our order even though we said we were ready when we ordered our drinks. The waitress was friendly enough but rarely checked on us- before or after we received our food. We started out with salads which were just normal salads however I have to say they have awful ranch dressing. It definitely has an out of the bottle taste- very sour and displeasing. Yuck! I did my best to eat around the dressing. I ordered the fettucine alfredo with chicken and broccoli, my mom ordered the lassagna and my brother ordered the raviolis. We also ordered a couple meatballs on the side. My portion of fettucine was MASSIVE! It came on a huge serving platter that could have fed 4 people at least. I was excited, it smelled really good! Unfortunately, the sauce was terrible! Very bland and tasted like flour paste. There was also hardly and chicken or broccoli at all. My mom's lasagna was tiny- one tiny little piece! There was so much sauce in the lasagna that she couldn't taste anything else and wasn't even sure if there were really noodles and cheese there. My brother's ravioli's were a larger portion and he thought they were decent. The meatballs were really delicious! We were also given a basket of cheese bread with our meal that was scumptious! If I ever go back I would definitely just order the meatballs and bread! If it wasn't for the meatballs and bread I definitely would have given this place 1-2 stars but they were good enough that I bumped it up. I also had tons of fettucine leftover and was able to make my own sauce at home to use with the leftovers and it was much better. I would try them again to see how the pizza is. read more

I have been patronizing Domenick's ever since it opened in 1955! As I recall, my boyfriend's father sold Domenick some of his property in order to build the restaurant. I watched it being built and was at the grand opening. Since then, my boyfriend and I broke up but I have continued to go to Domenick's Pizza House every now and then ever since. A few years ago I went in to order pizza for a family gathering. I hadn't been there in awhile and when I saw who looked like Domenick, I was shocked. He looked so young... As you probably guessed, it was Domenick's son. I approached him and told him who I was and he sat with me for a few minutes and we talked about ''those days' and how he would actually make the pizzas as a kid. My family has been coming here since before I was born and I am 25! The late Domenick Sr., waitress Barbara and the now owner Domenick Jr. have become like family over the years. The pizza is loaded and just so delicious! Linguini with clam sauce is my favorite. Salad is really good, lots of garlic so be prepared. Domenicks is just a homey place to go for GREAT comfort food. Decent pizza, I just wish the xtra large pizza had more than 10 slices. Slices are big (not as big as costco pizza slices) but they're filling. It can be a bit expensive but the pizza is good. Great ma and pa restaurant, its been around for a long time. The pepperoni pizza is great, good amount of pepperoni slices and lots of cheese. I also tried the meat ravioli, good pasta dish. I first went to Dominick's in the mid-'60. The best pizza I have ever eaten and it has not changed. The green salid is to die for. I have also gone to their location on Western in Rancho Palos Verdes and the food is same, thank goodness. Teresa will adopt you and share everything the prepare. I came here because I was craving pizza! So i ordered a medium special pizza which came with onions, green peppers, pepperonis, mushrooms, and other stuff and I also ordered a pepperoni calzone! Both of them came out to be like $32 which is pretty expensive! They pretty much put as many toppings as possible on the pizza that I was full with 1 slice, and the calzone was ginormous too! and very delicious! Food is horribly bland and tasteless. Wish I read reviews before going there. I wanted to treat my Mom and Dad to an italian restaurant. I ordered clam linguini (lacked flavor and too much sand) my Father ordered spaghetti (no taste he said he could make a better sauce at home-that's saying something since my dad rarely cooks) and my Mom ordered a sausage sandwich, they both agreed that was pretty good.
