The restaurant has a to go/order at the counter side and a sit down and eat area on th other side. They serve pizza, sandwich's and entrees. I've been here a few times. I once was really into meatball sandwiches and I remember I ordered one from nearly all the places in town that had it an this place was one of the top ones I liked. I visited this place the other day and saw that they have daily specials Monday thru Friday. Friday was tuna and I wasn't really craving a meatball sandwich so I got the daily specials it's $13 for a small sandwich a small bag of chips and a can of soda. The small sandwich is actually a good size. I've also had their pizzas. The pies and slices are pretty big. They put a lot of cheese on them so if you like cheese, come here! I ate half a slice of two different joints and I was stuffed! The customer service is usually pretty friendly so I can't complain. I'll probably come back for their daily specials. Mondays are meatball so I might come back in a Monday. read more

Last night I ordered cheese ravioli dinner (salad & garlic bread)from this restaurant through Uber eats... order was completed at 8:48 PM... And I received the order around 9:15 PM... What I received looked like spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread... at first I thought the driver made a mistake... But the bag had my name on it on a Sorrento's receipt... so clearly the mistake was made by the restaurant. By the time I called the restaurant, it was closed down. So no dinner and I'm fasting today for religious purposes. I call the restaurant today to let them know what happened and to see if I could bring back what they sent me and they can give me my cheese ravioli for dinner tonight... After being on hold for three minutes... I called back and spoke to three different people and the third person basically told me that I had to go through Uber Eats... Mind you I wasn't upset initially ...I'm in the hospitality business... I understand mistakes can happen. What I was told was to go through Uber Eats so I can get a refund, that if I had ordered directly through them they would have exchanged. The fault clearly here is of their store on not packing the food I ordered... I don't leave reviews definitely not bad reviews but this one just really irritated me... Where is the customer service? You messed up... I'm giving you a chance to fix what you messed up. No apologies were made. Just a straight contact Uber Eats. Well, you lost a customer! Came here during lunch, asked cashier to give me her favorite sandwich and she suggested a Philly cheese steak with mustard and jalapeño. I have to say this is the best Philly I've had by far. Bread is soft, steak is really good . For the price I'd get it every time, paid about 18$ for both sandwich and some chips. The ambience is warm and it was pretty packed in the dining area. I was craving pizza and had mistakenly placed an Uber Eats order for this "Sorrento's Restaurant" in San Pedro rather than a different Sorrento's establishment located near my house. Aside from the initial confusion and longer wait time due to the delivery driver's commute, this had turned out to be a wonderful mistake. The medium-sized pizza I ordered was generously piled with toppings under the cheese. The pizza itself was delicious and the marinara sauce was super flavorful! I also ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were fortunately still edible by the time my order had arrived. In fact, they were actually still quite good. My boyfriend ordered a small chicken parm sandwich and he scarfed it down immediately. It's safe to say we both loved the food from this establishment and I'm looking forward to actually dining in sometime in the future. We arrived in San Pedro to enjoy a day at the beach. After a wonderful day, we found ourselves craving pizza. We checked Yelp and discovered Sorrentos. The food photos looked amazing, so we decided to give it a shot, and oh my goodness, we are so glad we did! The pizza was absolutely perfect. The sauce was delicious, and the pizza was incredibly cheesy. We also ordered the lasagna dinner, which we shared, and it was more than enough for three people, leaving us with leftovers. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere, and our server was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly. I wish we lived closer because this would definitely be our go-to spot. My friend treated me for dinner and we had a good experience. She usually gets a pizza but I swayed her to share an entree and appetizer. It may have been a special but the lasagna came with meatballs in addition to salad and bread. I particularly liked the salad because it included garbanzo beans and kidney beans. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our experience. We brought our kids, and there was an older gentleman who was working there and every time our kids had a question for him, he really appeared to be incredibly inconvenienced by them, which was disappointing. It also felt extremely outdated to have a massive surcharge for using credit cards. Lastly, I would say only 33% of the food we ordered tasted delicious. The rest either didn't taste good or were neutral. Our family won't be coming back again. read more

Used to get our pizza here 12-13 years ago when we lived in the area. Unfortunately I think our tastes have changed, because this was a little too much cheese for me. Service was fine, restaurant has an "older charm." I also tried the chicken Alfredo which was a bit bland. Garlic bread was a little mushy too, we like ours crispy on the outside. It was just after Yom Kippur services and we were starving. Every place in Palos Verdes closes at 8, and they're not very good anyway. So after a few unsuccessful bids there, we drove down into San Pedro. Sorrento's closes at 8 also, but the very nice people there saw we were desperate and stayed open for us. I'm so glad they did. The food is stick to your ribs good, and the portions are enormous. It started off with a beautiful salad with ripe tomatoes, garbanzos, beans, shredded carrots and fresh greens. I would have liked some cucumber for a little crunch, but I can't complain about it. For my main, I got the chicken parm, and they gave me two huge breasts and a giant mound of spaghetti. I couldn't eat all that on my best day, so next time I'll tell them just to leave half of it off. I don't like wasting food like that. I don't mind paying even if they leave off half of what they normally serve. The service was friendly, and the food was good. Can't really ask for much more. read more

Went to Sorrento's today for lunch with family. Used to love the Meatball Sandwiches here many years ago. Had high expectations. Not impressed today, ordered a large meatball sandwich, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Seafood Pasta. Prices were quite high in our opinion. The meatball sandwich was good but not great as my memory tells me it used to be. The pastas were both subpar. The actual pasta in the dishes was overcooked, not al dente, and the sauces seemed like they were not freshly prepared. Honestly, the dishes came out way too fast to have been made fresh. It seems as if the pasta dishes had been warmed up by microwave. We likely will not return to Sorrento's. It's just not what it used to be. read more

Just had lunch here after church. I've been going to Sorrentos for more than fifty years, so perhaps I'm biased. My wife and I shared a meatball sandwich and salad. Being from South Shores, Sorrentos was always a go to. Even after moving and the price hikes, was still a go to. However, after my sit in late lunch/early dinner tonight, I can say I hear and understand why there are so many complaints about the food. It is a bit high, however as a business owner, judging a business should not be based solely on pricing.... I still gave Sorrentos a good star score as I still enjoy Sorrentos. But tonight, I found a hair in the pizza - the hair was under the cheese so I didn't see it... luckily I tend to use a fork and knife for Sorrentos, especially when it is hot. I was told that I should have told the wait staff before I told them about the hair and that the cook staff did not have long hair, which I agree with about the cook staff not having long hair BUT the dishwasher had very long hair. We just wanted to let the staff know - we weren't looking for anything for free (like many others do), nor did we want the offered ice cream... just wanted it known. The manager should have come to talk to us instead of having the waitress be the telephone. Will I be back? Sure, probably not for a while... this visit left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

That didn't disappoint and everyone else enjoyed their choice of pasta dinners. The portions are large and we all had something to take home. The garlic bread was a hit too. The prices are high but what isn't these days. Service was good but their selection of desserts posted on a board didn't reflect that they were out of spumoni and another item. An Italian restaurant out of spumoni, that's just not right. I knew about the surcharge for not paying cash because there is a small sign notifying customers of this as you walk in. Based on some of the high prices on the menu, it appears they adjusted for having to deal with credit card fees. It does feel like I got taken twice. read more

The whole staff is incredible, and deeply cares about you and your food. And I really do mean the whole staff, especially the line cooks who have known me since I was in diapers.
