Been a customer of Bouno's since high school when I would go down to 15th & Gaffey to buy a slice of their squared pizza during lunch break. I'm in my 50s. I'm elated to see them relocate to a great corner spot in downtown San Pedro. And I understand costs for upgrading falls on our shoulders with what we're now paying for to support our local businesses. However, what's disappointing is the reduction in portions while the prices have increased. When I picked up my sandwich, something I normally order, it seemed a little lighter. When I opened it up, I discovered there was less meat. Subway provides more turkey meat! It's like Bouno's put their sandwiches on Ozempic. read more

Did a pickup order of a personal pepperoni pizza with garlic. The pizza was pretty good, but (personal preference) it would have tasted better with whole garlic opposed to diced garlic. I've been wanting to try out Buono's Buffet for quite some time- so a few months ago- I did just that. At the time of my visit it was $14.50+ Tax (exclusive of a beverage). Buffet is Wed thru Fri from 11:00am - 2:00pm I had pizza, pasta, salad and Oh So- tasty Garlic Bread Rolls (I'm a big fan of their Garlic Bread but the rolls- took it to another level). One item that I don't normally try was the following on their Buffet that day (Ziti S.D. Tomatoes & Mushroom)- it was divine. The service provided by Heather and the interaction from the kitchen staff (Hugo, etc.) was exceptional. Along with a nice ambiance in dining- whilst looking at numerous photos/pictures on the walls. As a consumer and if it's convenient- you can spend roughly $15 or so here for the Buffet or about the same price for a decent size Burger Combo elsewhere- for me I'd rather spend my money here for the price comparisons. read more

Always on the search for a good happy hour and Buono's delivered! See my photo for happy hour menu and hours. Stopped by with my daughter around 5pm. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside, and the patio was empty, which I appreciate with a noisy little girl! We ordered pizza, mozzarella sticks and garlic parm fries. I also got a beer, all of this was $30 with the happy hour, amazing! My favorite was the mozzarella sticks, great breading. The pizza was good too but a little too much fluffy dough for my liking, but some may prefer this so I'll mention it! The garlic parm fries were good but not the best I've had. They gave us a complimentary bruschetta too, so kind! Their sauce portions were great, I'm a sauce lover so I appreciate this. They also did not charge me for ranch! Another win for Buonos! Went to Buono's this past weekend while attending the Downtown San Pedro Dia De Los Muertos celebration. The location was a prime corner spot which made it easy to get to. I liked the classic decor and the staff was extremely friendly. The menu has a lot of great choices and the Happy Hour menu was also full of great choices, I ended up going with the Pepperoni Pizza. Well folks, if Pepperoni Pizza is your thing, then get your butt on over to Buono's today and grab a pie! The sauce was rich, flavorful and had that old school authentic flavor. The cheese was very tasty and plentiful, and the pepperoni was DELISIOUS! And we cant forget about the perfectly baked crust....All in all a 10 out of 10 Pepperoni Pizza Pie. Food is solid...but not something I'd go out of my way for. I live close so it's convenient. I would recommend their pizzas here. They have pasta as well that are decent. They have a good daily happy hour 3-6pm with offerings from 5-8 dollars, along with a Wednesday-Friday lunch buffet from 11-2 that is about $15. The buffet is good if you're really hungry or just trying to eat a variety of things. They had pepperoni pizza, fries/wedges, meatballs, a soup, 3 pastas (marinara w penne, bacon mushroom creamy rigatoni, chicken broccoli alfredo), garlic knots and a salad bar when I went. Everything was decent... I prob wouldn't go again for the buffet as I only cared for one pasta (mushroom one)... the pizza was decent and of course the salad bar is always good. The pastas got soggy over time so I would recommend getting there closer to 11am if you want the buffet. They also have a lunch special that I would prob opt for instead... not sure the price but most likely less than the buffet. A slice of cheese pizza, a trip to the salad bar and a drink. Fantastic Pizza, Service, and Ambiance. We loved this place. My wife is allergic to dairy and she was able to get her pizza with goat cheese. My daughter has a gluten allergy and was able to have gluten free crust, for me, the pizza was Hawaiian with green peppers and was simply fantastic all around. Perfect spot for a group we were 20 people celebrating our Sailing team victory. I spoke with the manager in advance Joey and he went out of his way to plan my menu and customize it for just what we needed. We had 12 adults 11 teenagers and we wanted to make sure we had the right combination of food and we didn't have that much time that we were going to be there so was working with Joey. He planned to shut down their typical buffet and turned it into a private buffet just for us we customized a red sauce spaghetti a white sauce, fettuccine garlic knots we substituted a third pasta for the meat lasagna and then we ordered Margarita pizza, cheese, pizza, and pepperoni pizza. We topped the meal off with lemon cello gelato, chocolate chip gelato and hazelnut gelato. It was a big hit I booked the reservation. I took care of giving them the credit card in advance. I ordered a couple Caesar salad salads for the tables so when we arrive, people could immediately start eating and then help themselves to the food that was piping hot and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch in particular with Joey. Our weight staff was kind but left us alone so we had the ability to talk amongst our ourselves. The restaurant was busy, but we were still kept to one section so it felt very private. I highly recommend it. The food was great. We will make sure every time we come back to this area from San Diego to San pedro we will stop and make this where we have all team dinners well done. read more

Just ate lunch here after not having it for a while & honestly it didn't disappoint! The pizza is solid & the wings were actually decent! Our server Mia was very sweet & attentive to us which I always appreciate! My only issue was with the salad bar, it's usually all really good but my party and I just noticed that maybe some of the toppings weren't super fresh, but other than that we really enjoyed our meal & experience. Ahh, molto buono! (Very good!) This review is based on being a fortunate recipient of leftovers on separate occasions. Months ago, my hubby brought home the Buono's Special which was one of extra pizzas his work event had. The Special lives up to its name- pepperoni, sausage, ham, salami, mushrooms, olives, green peppers, and sweet onion. A solid, tasty pizza! I did not write a review at the time since it was just my first time having their pizza. The hubby had another event which was happy hour. He brought me back some goodies-- pepperoni slice, small roast beef and cheese sandwich, and a mozzarella stick. My favorite of the 3 is the mozzarella stick. Just perfect. Other items are A-OK. I also have a cheese slice that I have not tried yet. Would love to check Buono's out in person one of these days. I have heard so many good things about them. They also have 2 locations in Long Beach in addition to this one. For now, 4 stars for the limited experiences I've had. Again, molto buono! read more

This restaurant has always been a staple to many in our community and was even voted best pizza in San Pedro through an unofficial blind pizza tasting contest. While the prices are not cheap, the amount of food you get for what you pay is absolutely worth it. I do think they do much better with their red sauces than that white/ creamy sauces when it comes to pasta. There is a server here, a younger girl, who always provides amazing customer service and is very friendly. While it is partially self serve, they have still managed to provide a substantial level of service. The restaurant itself is consistently clean and you'll see a lot of people with their dogs on the outside patio. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect on the sunnier days. Overall, this is a great choice and is one of our go tos for a nice date night for happy hour. read more

The good: I stumbled upon this place unplanned because I was in the area for the Dia de Los Muertos event. I got a bbq chicken pizza in a medium. It was enough for 3 people. I liked the fluffy crust and the flavor of the sweet bbq sauce. The chicken was tender and moist. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with heat lamps. You order at a counter and grab a number to bring to your table. I like the casual atmosphere and the straight forward and classic menu. They also have a self-serve salad bar. The bad: Parking is tricky because this is downtown. I parked in a nearby garage for free however. The cashier seemed new because he didn't know answers to my questions. He didn't know which price referred to what size pizza. He forgot to give us our drink cups. He seemed flustered and inexperienced. We weren't told where plates or utensils were located. I prefer a thinner and crispier crust but this one was good in its own way. I wish there were more pizza flavors. The interesting: They have 2 other locations in Long Beach. My wife and I were looking for something good last Friday, 3/3/23. Since we are currently in Lent, we needed something without meat. After tossing around a few ideas, we decided on pizza, and this was the perfect one. The toppings were shrimp scampi, spinach, and capers. The shrimp and spinach were really good, and the capers gave us that slightly briny flavor that went great with this. We got it for pickup, and the cashier was very nice. The place has some very nice, almost floor to ceiling windows that give you a nice view of people walking around. There is parking on the street, but you might have to circle a time or two trying to find a spot. read more

My favorite location is the one on Ocean Avenue in downtown Long Beach. they have a really good salad bar and a really good pizza

It's been over 10 years since we came here. It isn't because we had a bad experience either. We moved, life got busy w/endless activities and we have been going to places that are 5 minutes away. I have been complaining about pizza places skimping on toppings and couldn't think of a pizza place that didn't skimp. It wasn't until I was checking my email and came across Buono's! Pizza is so good. I love that the crust is fluffy and thick. My husband has a gluten-allergy and he loves that there are different sizes available All of the pizza places we've been to usually offer small or personal size. The best part, the pizza toppings were generous! A bite of a slice should always be a mouthful of the toppings with the crust and cheese. There is a salad bar and it has a good variety of salad ingredients. It is a one time trip so we ordered a large and I was able to make it big enough for 3 of us to share. Dressing choices were good! The italian was Girard's. The Ranch was thick & buttermilky! It is perfect for dipping buffalo wings without the dressing sliding off. The restaurant is set up like counter service. When we arrived we headed to the counter to order but the girl said to pick a table and a server will take our order. Service was good, a little slow, but we weren't in dire need for anything right away. My son refilled his soda since the patrons eating in the patio came in and out to refill their drinks. Our server got pretty busy with a 2nd big group. The other workers were pretty good about helping him out and coming to check on us too. There is a lunch buffet from Wed - Friday. We would love to come back to check it out. Restaurant is great for families and families with a dog. The patio area can definitely accommodate furry family members. A group with teens and littles can be accomodated inside and out. Can't wait to come back to try the lunch buffet. Next time I will take photos of the delicious food. We're glad we came back. I don't like writing bad reviews, but I feel drawn to here. I ordered the lasagna from Uber Eats. It came nice and hot so I know that it was still fresh. The lasagna was so greasy and disgusting that I took a couple of bites and threw it out. I could see the pooled grease and oil at the top of the food. It completely took away my appetite and made the whole thing unappealing. I hope this was just a one-off bad experience, but I'll never know because I won't get food from here again. read more

Love this place great food family run business. Also, it's the only all you can eat Italian buffet that's not some crap like Olive Garden. Sorry if you like Olive Garden but for around $15 you can get all you can eat salad pasta, and pizza sometimes they do meatballs, or Italian, sausage they change it up and they constantly have different pizzas and spaghetti and usually a choice of different pasta fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli is awesome. I have very bad news for you; after eating Buono's Pizzeria pizza, it will be nearly impossible to eat any other pizza from Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, and the likes! We've eaten at Buono's 4 times in a 2 week period (1 time at Ocean Blvd in LB, 2 times at Willow St in LB, and 1 time at the San Pedro location) bringing family members with me to promote this locally family owned business. We've ordered different kinds of pastas and pizzas and I can guarantee you that you cannot go wrong with any choices you make. My favorite must be the salad bar. They only use quality ingredients that you can taste in every bite. I want to highlight the San Pedro location. Visited this establishment on Mother's Day 5/11/2025 at 11 A.M. We were pleasantly served by Mia. Mia was very friendly and double checked with the kitchen regarding allergen concerns we had. I didn't get the other crew members' names but everyone appeared pleasant, neat, and approachable. We had ordered a family feast that came with 1 family size pizza of your choice, 1 family size pasta of your choice, garlic bread, and 5 small salad trips to the salad bar. We had also ordered buffalo wings and drinks on the side. We had plenty of left overs after our meal and we were stuffed. My grandson and I just love Buono's. There are 3 I think, but this one in San Pedro is the best. It is in the cutest area of San Pedro and right near the Grand Warner Theater if you are there for a play. The service is so friendly and they will get to you straight away. You can eat there, have take out, or just call for delivery. We love eating there. The staff is just so sweet. Everything there is great, but they are known for their pizza and it is the best in the City. You will be happy with any type you choose. It is made just for you and comes out hot and delicious. They also have a full menu of other Italian dishes and we have yet to have something we did not love. Any pasta they have, get it. It does sometimes change. Wow, this place is so hit or miss. I always order the same dish -- Linguini Gamberi e Vongole -- and when it's made right with the spicy red sauce, it's honestly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had.
