I really wanted to love this place :/ Don't get me wrong Domenicos seems to be a murfreesboro favorite. Tom of foot traffic and people coming in to get sandwiches. I just think they can elevate it a bit over there. Bread was very disappointing and the portion size for what you're paying for was a little off. It was a good sandwich, but I would order something different to try next time since it didn't wow me. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of my sandwich tonight because I thought I was doing an update. I ordered dessert for the first time ever and it was AMAZING!!! It was the chocolate fudge gluten free cake. It looks like cheesecake but felt like a silky smooth truffle. It was perfectly sweet and rich without being overloaded with sweetness that would dry out your mouth. Pretty sure this will be an item I get every time now. Can't believe I've been missing out. I used the online order feature and without realizing that they added $1.00 convenience fee and defaulted a $3.00 tip so my $13 sandwich (the soprano) was now $18. The online order said ready AT 12:38 so I decided to go a little early got there about 12:30 sat until 12:45 no one called my name (they had been calling others) so I decided to ask. The sandwich was already ready and workers noticed me sitting but didn't think to ask if I was there for pickup (sandwich was not even at the pickup counter). So now I'm eating a room temp soggy sandwich I spent almost $20 on. Sandwich was.... okay. Not worth the $12 and Definitely not the $18 I spent. Overall very bad experience. Great old school Italian Deli feel with some seating inside. Very clean. I got a hot club sandwich from here and it was great, very filling. You can order one of their regular sandwiches or have them make a custom one for you. Great customer service too. Some great side options and if your lucky, some desert treats too! I was a bit disappointed with Domenico's Italian deli today when I went in for the first time. Being Italian, I miss the traditional Italian delis with the smell of fresh Italian breads like: focaccia, ciabatta, pane sciocco, Bruschetta, a nice variety of cheeses, deli meats, sides like caponata, and other veggie and pasta dishes in the deli case. I miss the hanging meats, the olive oils, the boxes of pasta, the peppers, the Prosciutto Cotto, the Prosciutto de Parma, the Prosciutto Crudo, the homemade Gelato, the tiramisu, Cannoli, Biscotti and everything else Italian... I'm really not trying to dog this place out, but in my personal opinion, this is a glorified subway sandwich shop posing as an Italian deli. There's nothing really "Italian Deli" about it other than the name. And to serve prepackaged dressing is a joke! My grandmother would roll over in her grave then get out and beat someone's ass if she saw that. Come on now! Homemade dressing is simple, cheap, and so much better! read more

Best sandwiches in Murfreesboro! I used to go to the original Domenico's in Alameda, CA which was run by the grandparents, and I loved it. I love this version as much, everything I have had has been fantastic, the Italian combo and the Chicago style Italian beef are my favorites and I always get potato salad with them. I was craving a quality club sandwich, and based off the reviews, we decided to give this place a shot and man am I glad we did. This is a small place with just a handful of inside seating, but even being small, it's a really nice spot. There's enough sandwich options, but not too many to have someone stressed with all the choices. The service was great, and the young man taking our order had great suggestions. The meats on each sandwich were extremely fresh, as well as the cheese. Overall, both sandwiches were extremely flavorful! They also gave a small selection of sweets, which they make in house. The only (very minimal) downfall is that they don't have fountain drinks, it's all bottled sodas/water, however, they did have a good selection of different drinks in their refrigerator.
