Food gets 5 Stars for sure. I had the lasagna. It was unique but not enough to lose the authentic lasagna style. The flavor was beyond what I anticipated. Amazing! The sauce is a wonderful balance of a delicious marinara with a bit a a creamy texture and flavor wich just put it in my best flavor category. The restaurant is a unique and fun atmosphere. With windows looking into the kitchen, which was very clean. The downfall for me and my guest was the way ordering is done. As a first time patron it took a little bit for us to get the hang of it. Especially since only one of us had a phone with us to see the menu. We just took turns looking at my phone. Dined at PennePazze on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at around 1 pm. I was intrigued by the black to-go boxes when my family ordered delivery that I had to stop by in-person. The restaurant looked like a clean fast-casual establishment, kinda reminds me of Vapiano's with the open kitchen. Despite the limited service, I thought it was super convenient to order through the app and pay. And the server was super friendly. I had the nonna Paula, which is a campanelle pasta with pesto sauce. I thought this dish tasted authentic and the pesto was freshly made. I did add on shrimp, which were tasted overcooked to mush. They do validate parking so wait until you get inside to scan the QR code for that. Now let's get down to my favorite part, the food. I have never had a bad tasting item here. I found this place on yelp after my daughter said she wanted pasta and I'm so glad we went. I ordered shrimp carbonara pazza and chicken risotto Al funghi. Wow, the flavors were amazing! The food is nice and I didn't mind paying what we did for it -- it's pricey. For that price ($110+ for a family of four and 1 wine glass), I would absolutely expect a full service experience. Maybe I'm becoming old and grumpy, but "Scan this and order for your whole family on the phone, kbye" is a service concept that is simply below the quality of the food and price tag here. Beyond that, the web form just isn't great. Add a comments field for changes/substitutions? I had to get up and find a server to ask about half/half toppings on a pizza. Later I saw the call button, but come on... I hope servers are paid well here; I can see them being undertipped often since they're only really working as food runners. This is by far the best Italian food I've had in the Boro. I lived in Italy for a year and of course this restaurant is different from the ones I frequented in Italy, this is good stuff. I went during the pre-grand opening and there were two Italian guys training the cooks on ingredients, cooking process, and cooking time. The pasta is delicious and the pizza is as well. Yes, you guessed it; that's what we had. We split the food so I was able to taste both. The restaurant is located in The Fountains. The Fountains is a small conglomerate of restaurants. There is a public parking lot with ample parking. The restaurant has QR codes on the table that leads you to the menu if you prefer that method. We were passing through and needed Pasta. We found PennePazze after a quick online search. It's tucked away in an upscale multiplex. Sierra welcomed us and explained everything. She was amazing! We are picky about what eat and she was very accommodating. We enjoyed a great vibe while we watched the meals being prepared through the glass. Our entrees arrived hot and delicious with our customizations honored. Both dishes were flavorful, rich and a bit complex. (Maybe some simple options could be added to the menu, hmmm?) There are some unique sodas for those who abstain from you know what. This is a great place to eat, but it is pricey. It was worth it. We were thrilled to discover PennePazze. This one is definitely going for a post-millennial vibe. The food was OK, what I'd call semi pre prep but appetizing in its way. Menu variety was a bit limited. Customization of your dish through browser interface on my phone was novel, but it does reduce interaction with wait staff, which I found a bit less ambient for my experience than antiseptic. Though I will have to put some of that on the wait staff themselves, as their table side manner was about as lukewarm as the water they served. The bread puffs we ordered as an app were good. First visit to Penne Pazze Murfreesboro last night with my daughter, not very busy and Ellie at the register was very nice explaining the various dishes to us. I went with the Ragu & Funghi which is a meat sauce with porcini mushrooms and a splash of cream. My daughter selected the Pinsa Pazza and added the onion jam and for dessert a cannoli filled with Nutella and ricotta. We sat outside and I received a text to go inside and pick up our orders. For me the pasta was just OK...the flavors were very muted and while I love mushrooms the overall flavor of the dish was mushroom. The pasta was al-dente and while the sauce was a red meat sauce with a splash of cream but you really could not discern the flavors. The pizza (Pinsa Pazza) had a nice crust...very crispy and the onion jam with the burrata cheese made for a flavorful combination. The tomato sauce and mozzarella were very mild, you almost did not taste them as a part of the pizza with the other items making the big flavor statement. As for the cannoli...I am not a Nutella fan, but my daughter made it totally disappear and loved it. I ordered a beer but was told they are still only serving wine and some mixed drinks. I did enjoy the Stubborn soda fountain options, they were very refreshing and I loved the citrus hibiscus orange. Overall the folks there were very nice...one of the chefs and Ellie came outside to see how we were doing. I've seen some not like the counter order and pick-up system, did not bother me as it seems efficient.
