Grilled Black Pastrami was excellent! There was a TON of meat. The marbled rye was delicious. The Tasty Pig was also a treat. I loved the bread that it came with! Finally checked Depasquale's At Night Caps Corner off the list. It was very good above average food, sadly it didn't blow me away. I had higher expectations for this place after looking at the photos. I had my food delivered via Uber Eats. Very fast delivery under 30 minutes., good and bad. I thought it was a bit to fast. and it kinda showed in the food. First The Fries.. large portion but soggy, lifeless, Bland & luke warm. I got 4 of the most Popular Subs according to Yelp. All the Subs were above average with higher quality ingredients. The food was just OK for me. I would order from here again. There is now so many Sub Shops in my area that are just as good if not better. The prices are very affordable and on par with my area. My Gripes with the Subs to heavy on the bread and not enough filling. Also my hot subs were not hot. The food was luke warm. and I felt the food was just kinda slapped together. This is my current favorite lunch takeout. Classic subs are all on-point, salads are big, fresh, and not an afterthought. There are some other places nearby that are nowhere near the quality of Depasquales. The shop doesn't do pizza pies or French fries, but if you're looking for sandwiches or salads, this place sets the standard, imo. And there are other things, like coffee, desserts, Sicilian pizza by the slice, meatballs, etc. I get really basic stuff most of the time (steak and cheese, Greek salad with chicken), but the few specials I've had were delicious. I got the steak and cheese sub. Well seasoned, cheesy in a soft fresh sub roll, I'd order it again and get it with the bomb option for $1.50 more. Hubby got the chicken parm. Cheese was not melted since the chicken wasn't hot enough and it looks like they used chicken breast which was a little on the dry side. He'll try something else next time. They've been open almost 2 weeks, I think, embarrassingly I've been there about 4 times for lunch or dinner when I work late. I'm SO PICKY- I was first impressed with the tomatoes - so fresh and delicious on the caprese salad! Tomatoes from take out places have been crap lately. Also people rave about the aranchini, I have yet to try them. My boyfriend loves the Gino sub, my son loves the sweet sausage. The pasta salad is also yummy, not too much salt or vinegar its just enough. Its a very clean, nice place to sit and eat. The staff are all friendly and accommodating.
