Dominick's is a wonderful restaurant for massive amounts of great Italian food! The decor is nice and comfortable. A blend of classy, and interestingly rustic. We had dinner reservations for after a show at the Aurora Theatre in town, so it was nice to park in the free parking deck, then take a short stroll over to the restaurant. Dana C was our server, and she took wonderful care of us. It had been several years since I'd dined here, but my wife and I were prepared to order each menu item that what we wanted to eat, knowing that we'd have plenty of leftovers to take back with us. Italian food and pasta is always better over the next few days out of the fridge, right? After tasty glasses of the house merlot for her and chianti for me, we started with their fried calamari appetizer and 2 loaves of garlic bread that were covered in olive oil and sliced, blanched fresh garlic. Very tasty. My wife had their stuffed pork chops entree which came out on a massive bed of pasta. It was all delicious. I had the Veal Parmesan which was served with a side order of spaghetti marinara. The flavors were fantastic! We ordered the "Full" portions on purpose, but we easily would have still had leftovers had we ordered the "half" portions. We made sure to save room for dessert so she could have their tiramisi and I had the cannoli. We did finish all of our sweets, lol. As an after-dinner drink, I had a sambuca which was properly served with the traditional 3 coffee beans. We left this fantastic dining experience pleasantly full, and with bags of take-home containers so we could continue to enjoy the food for days afterwards. It was bad. I've sat down and ordered it plenty of times I really wanted to come back and get a refund but it was too far from me. It was bland and was done too quick so I should have known something was wrong and I only got 4 shrimps . Not worth $40 at all and never tasted so bland I was confused and disappointed. read more

The food was good overall. The calamari was good. I was given a terrible salad. All of the leaves were brown but they quickly corrected the issue. I was given a fresh head lettuce in my salad. The chicken scarpariello stole the show with the various proteins, spice level and potatoes. The service was good. And the ambiance was a nice quiet vibe with an early 90s feel. read more

My adult daughter chose Dominick's on the Square in Lawrenceville for her birthday dinner, and since it had been a while since our last visit, I was looking forward to it -- and it did not disappoint! We arrived just before 5 PM and were seated immediately, as we were the first customers for dinner. Our server, Sally, was super friendly and very helpful in answering our questions. She explained the portion sizes for both half and full plates -- even the half portions were generous and definitely large enough for leftovers. Our group of three shared a full-size Caesar salad to start. I had the lasagna, my wife had the spinach and sun-dried tomato manicotti, and the birthday girl went with the chicken parm. All three dishes were absolutely delicious. To top it off, the restaurant treated us to a birthday cannoli -- the real deal and as good as any you'd find in NYC or Boston. My girlfriend and I came here for a date night, and while the service was genuinely great, the food really missed the mark this time. Our server (I believe her name was Sally, or something starting with an S) was super kind, attentive, and clearly doing her best. She was honestly the highlight of the experience and the main reason this isn't a one-star review. Unfortunately, the food was awful. I ordered the Alfredo, and it came out extremely watery--no creaminess at all. The noodles were basically naked, swimming in thin liquid instead of sauce. My girlfriend's marinara was also watery and very bland, with almost no flavor. I did ask for another Alfredo, and while they were quick to bring out a replacement, it was just as watery as the first one. At that point, I didn't want to keep sending food back, especially since our server had already been so nice. What made this even more disappointing is that I've been to Dominik's before at a different location for a date night, and the food there was amazing. That's why we chose to come here and expected a similar experience. We're a young couple in our early 20s, and this was supposed to be a nice night out, but the food quality just wasn't there. This was the first bad experience in eating at Dominick's in over 20 years. The appetizers were spot on as usual, everyone was disappointed with their entrees, the taste was a little off! Sort of like utilizing inferior products than the norm! I will give it another chance, I hope the ridiculous price of ingredients has not ruined a great establishment by them trying to keep their pricing down for its customers. read more

This place is AMAZING. I mean, I think it might be the BEST Italian food I've ever tasted. First we ordered the garlic bread. It was chewy and warm and the garlic was freshly shaved. We ate the loaf in like five minutes. After that delicious expierience, we had to order the house bread. This time, the bread was soft and squishy and perfectly seasoned with the parmesan cheese. I also love how they gave a side of marinara sauce. Then, we got the main course, lasagna. It was huge and delicious. I couldn't stop eating. This restaurant was definitely five stars. Everything was fantastic after we were acknowledged! Reservations at 4:30 seated then ignored for 10 minutes while staff was instructed for the night, I guess. Adrienne was our server and she was wonderful. She checked on us just the right amount and gave us awesome food options in her opinion. We started with the half antipasto salad which was excellent along with their delicious light and fluffy bread. Next my friend had the spicy chicken and sausage penned which looked divine and tasted exceptional per him. The half plate was huge enough that he has dinner tomorrow. I had the Dominick's ravioli which is pasta sheets filled with cheese topped with cheese and the most delicious Alfredo sauce then baked to perfection. It came with 8 raviolis and I took home 6 because I saved room for creme Brule with coffee and I'm so happy I did! The ambiance was beautiful which is why so many prom goers choose to have dinner here plus it is across from the historic courthouse. Many prom goers were taking pictures there. My husband and I were so looking forward to going only to be met with letdowns. Started with having to send his old fashioned back, it was awful, like they just added sweetener to the woodford. My aperol spritz was mediocre. I ordered the linguini and mussels, a good bit of them hadn't opened, cracked shell pieces mixed in with the pasta, and the sauce was beyond watery and bland. I sent what was left back. The small side of linguini with Alfredo I got as the replacement was just as disappointing. Noodles in a puddle of watery sauce. I had to add half the bottle of Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper to thicken it and add flavor. My husband had to do the same with his side of Alfredo pasta. His chicken parm looked awesome, but was so bland. Final disappointment of the night was the tiramisu. They slapped a bunch of Hershey syrup on it. So bad. For what dinner costs to eat there, we definitely expected a better experience. It's a shame the food doesn't match the service. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. I ordered almost 80 dollars worth of food and ended up throwing it all away. Everything was lukewarm when it was delivered but I had preheated my oven so I was kind of expected that with any delivery order. But I wasn't expecting to have to dislike all the items. I started with the stuffed mushrooms and the filling was mushy and other than the sauce, there was no seasoning. After about two of those, I gave up and moved on to the lasagna and the side of meatballs that I ordered. I tried the garlic bread and that was okay but not the best. Everything I had seemed like it was old and reheated and not fresh, no seasoning just wasn't good. I won't be ordering from them again. read more

My husband and I have eaten at this restaurant 3 times and they always sit us in the same spot, at a table for 4 at the center back of the restaurant, usually across from the only other Black couple in there, seated between the windows at a 2 seater in the wall (God forbid, anybody walking by should see some Black people in there). They also need to not charge $10 for a non-alcoholic drink that is a bad cultural appropriation of Jamaican hibiscus punch "sorrel" . We're not going back. So when my sister came to visit fro out of town and was craving Italian food I said "hey get Dominick's". Bad idea. Bc the food was not good at all. She ordered to go, garlic cheese bread- it wasn't cooked all the way, yet all the garlic and cheese was burnt; shrimp scampi-no flavor whatsoever and some of the shrimp was over cooked; chicken Alfredo- there was barely any sauce and the chicken wasn't even seasoned and it was frozen chicken not fresh; calamari- it was ok; Cesar salad- the only good thing. Visited the location on 6/11/25 around 6pm with two others. Izzy our waitress, was great and is the sole reason I'm giving two stars instead of one star. Both fettuccine alfredo dishes the table ordered had no sauce and the one that had chicken was served with the chicken having no color, tasting raw and tough too chew with pieces of bones inside. I'm not saying that Dominick's is bad but if you want microwaved protein that could lead to food poisoning they might be your best bet. read more
