While there wasn't as much shrimp on it as there has been in the past, I would have loved two or three shrimps on each slice, the flavor was still excellent. My son and I are absolutely hooked on their tortas and tacos. Don't be fooled by the pizza. We haven't tried that yet. They have Torta de Cabeza and Torta de Lengua. You can also get them as tacos. First time visit and kept it simple with 4 tacos, 2 tostadas and a chicken roll to share lunch, a different kinda combo. Everything was fresh and delicious. Especially the towering tostadas with generous helpings of cheese and avocado chunks, along with salsa verde and lime. My advice when trying this place out; go for the marinated steak and chicken tinga, says spicy but it's just flavorful. As a bonus, their two main hot sauces are Valentina's red and El Yucateco green chili habenero, great choices. Understand going in, this is a very simple and down to earth establishment. Basic table and chair setup with an eat & go atmosphere. Though I expect with all the new residents and business coming, we'll see some upgrades soon. Credit cards accepted via advanced POS system. They have been in business for over 20 years, the staff are very welcoming and the food is delicious and affordable. They also deliver. This is an great Mexican eatery, disguised as a pizzeria in the heart of Glen Cove. Easily the best tacos and tostadas around. I cannot wait to try the Bistec Encebollado (steak & onions), giant soups and more next time. This is a great take out place, it's a small family owned business and the tacos are authentic and delicious. I've come here on numerous occasions and it's consistently good. I get the steak and chorizo, I add avocado on my tacos most of the time. The guac is always delicious and you can tell it's made in house, the chips have recently changed ,I think they're store bought but still tasty. The salsa verde tamales are really spicy and good I l love that they have shredded chicken, they're a little on the dry side but still good so I recommend salsa verde on the side. I have been coming here since I was a little girl as I grew up in glen cove and now as an adult don't but still make the trip regularly for the best, authentic Mexican tacos you will find on Long Island. My personal favorites are al pastor (marinated pulled steak), bistec (grilled steak) and lengua (cow tongue- might deter some but trust me they are THE BEST!) The tacos are served with onion, limes, cilantro and the most delicious spicy green tomatillo sauce. I like to order a side pico de Gallo and extra tomatillo sauce. Their guacamole is also very good and the best part about this place is that everything is made to order so it is very fresh! They do also serve pizza and it's not half bad. Have to admit that we were a bit skeptic about trying Mexican food from a Pizzeria, but decided to give it a shot. So glad we did. Hands down probably the best authentic Mexican food we've had outside of NYC and Queens. The Tacos were all DELICIOUS, would recommend that anyone try the tocos al pastor, tacos de cabeza, tacos de pollo and tacos de lengua. The meat in all the taco's was so tasty and tender. The tostadas and rice and beans were also fantastic. We plan on making this a regular stop and exploring more of the menu. The staff was nice and it seems to be family run. Service was pretty quick. I have been looking for good, fresh and authentic tacos since moving to Locust Valley about two years ago with no luck. The only options were Puerto Vallarta and Cactus Cafe; both are pretty terrible. Luckily, I found this place. Tacos are great but the service is extremely slow. Maybe it's because I'm a gringo because non-gringos who came in after me were getting their orders before me and they weren't phone-ins. And the guys working the register/taking orders were just standing around, shooting the breeze with their buddies who were eating slices at the end of the counter. This place has basically owned my soul for the last 15 years. Although they have "pizza" in their name, this place is all about the Mexican food. The beef (bistec) taco's are far and away the best I have ever had. I first had them back in high school and never can stay away when I'm in town. I've lived in Brooklyn for going on a decade now and I have not been able to find anything that can come close to how good they are. They are small taco's (I usually get six) with a shredded and lightly crisped braised beef covered in onion and cilantro. You put some lime and verde salsa on them and boom! it's the best thing you've ever eaten. I can't emphasize this enough. They are beyond stellar. This place is one of those often overlooked smaller restaurants but they bring delicious authentic big flavored Mexican cuisine to the table. The inside of the place could use a real make over though. I have never eaten in but I have had take out and delivery several times. Great Food, Great Service! Dominik Pizza has some pretty damn good pizza & their mexican food is out of this world. The mini tacos with the chorizo are definitely my favorite. I also love the Tortas they make! The only thing that really concerns me is that they were in the news for having some MAJOR violations from the Health Department. So, for that reason I am giving this a 4/5 and not a 5/5. If I didn't come here regularly and they weren't nice - I probably would have to give this place a 2 star. However, I try to see the good in local businesses and the food does taste amazing, its just the thought that it could lack cleanliness bothers me.
