    Spicy Tuna

We ordered almost $70 worth of sushi and got 90% rice. Nearly no tuna in the 3 rolls we ordered. Not worth the steep price tag. Plenty of better sushi places in the Short North to try instead.

Domo has been one of my favorite sushi spots. I love the cozy vibes in there. Service is quick and I've never had a bad waiter/waitress there. The food comes out pretty quick considering they are making the sushi by order. I love their sushi options. If I can, I'll get the otoro (fatty tuna) and it's some of the best around Columbus that I've tried so far. They also have delicious cocktails that are well balanced. The only downside is trying to find parking since it's in the Short North. If you're lucky, you can snag a street parking spot near the restaurant.

Honestly, this was one of the best meals I have had in a while. I only ordered 2 appetizers, the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the Wagyu Yaki Tori with a hot green tea, but the flavor of everything was incredible. The crispy rice was actually crunchy which is what I hope for every time I order it, and I was very impressed with the quality of the steak for the Yaki Tori. I was in town for an event and came across Domo and it was a great experience. They were playing really good EDM music in the restaurant too, so it was a total vibe. The prices were fair as well!

Domo is one of the best sushi restaurants in Columbus! No matter what you order here, it will always be delicious. The sushi and sashimi are made fresh to order in front of you at the sushi bar, and their other entrees like the bento box or calamari are all fantastic as well! The service is spot on and it's a great atmosphere for a casual meal with friends or a nice date. I highly recommend checking this place out the next time you're in the mood for sushi, and don't sleep on their Tokyo Cafe (espresso) Martini either!

I have been eyeing this place for a while now since I've heard that this is the best sushi in Columbus. It's certainly rivals the best! This place was great! Great location. We were able to find parking off High Street with no issue. They certainly cram people in like sardines at this location. We waited a little bit for the next table to leave as they had us ready to sit next to the doorway which seemed a little chaotic. The service had no issue with that. We ordered a bottle of wine and the crab rangoon. I can't believe how good it was. I would have ordered two more orders and not thought twice about it. I also tried sashimi for the first time and it was excellent. I tried the Yellow as it was recommended to me. We also went with three sushi rolls: spider roll, arigato roll, and the Sakura. They were all excellent. All the food was delicious.

Everything is always so good here! Love the staff! Legit best espresso martinis in the city! Fun ambiance, but not too loud.

Update: Never mind on the 5 star review. Unfortunately, I had diarrhea and woke up in puddles of sweat this morning & this is the only thing I ate last night. So, unless you want to lose a few pounds from potential food poisoning, maybe stay away from here for a little while. Original review was 5/5 stars: I came here for takeout & ordered 2 rolls + miso. The rolls were perfect sizes & I was super full after finishing. I would go back. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I'd say it was close to Akai Hana/Sushi Ten quality, but not quite as large or tight rolls. Parking for pickup was a little tough on a Thursday night. I had to go around a few blocks to find a spot to then pickup my order. When ordering, it asks for a make and model / color of car, but they don't bring the food out to you. Indoor seating. There were quite a few people there.

A lychee cocktail (I don't remember the name) but it was pretty and strong but not overpowering.

I had a good experience at Domo. I went on a Saturday afternoon with a reservation. We were seated immediately and enjoyed refreshing cocktails. The food was served hot and delicious. Its a small restaurant but didn't feel over crowded. I will be back for happy hour.

I love their happy hour! The rolls are so cheap, but my favorite thing is their Kitchen Donburi Bowl. Additionally, can't go wrong with any of their drinks - I always get a Lychee martini. The staff are always so kind and it is super cute inside.

I went to Domo for a friend's birthday dinner and enjoyed my time overall. I'm giving my experience a 4/5 stars for the following reasons. The decor/ambiance is fairly upscale and I really appreciated the tableware (unfortunately I failed to take photos). It's a smaller dining room and can become quite loud, so be prepared if you're looking for a more relaxed or expansive environment. Their drink selection is great. We enjoyed several different cocktails, a refreshing Japanese seltzer, and, of course, soju. The menu is huge and has all of the sushi staples you'd expect. My spicy salmon and hamachi rolls tasted fresh and weren't overly pricey. Our server was very friendly and gave us good guidance on what to order; however, I did feel that the visits to the table took longer than they should have. Those at our table who ordered hot food waited much longer than I would have expected. Some items beyond the traditional rolls can become pricey. It's not like your strip mall sushi spot. Be prepared for a bigger bill. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality, ambiance, and experience. If they can adjust their service slightly, they will be successful.

What a cool spot to join the Short North family! I live down the street and have both dined in and ordered takeout from Domo. My takeout experience wasn't the best but my dining experience was awesome so I'm going to focus on that. My takeout order was shortly after they opened and I have doubt they were still working out the kinks every new restaurant experiences. My three neighbors and I like to go to dinner together every few months and based on the interior alone, we had to check Domo out. It's really beautiful inside... exposed brick, cherry blossoms and large koi fish lanterns hanging from the ceiling, art on the walls, a large open kitchen with a sushi bar, and a couple televisions. The service was also top notch. We had a reservation and were seated right away and our server was friendly, attentive, and kindly answered any questions we had. We decided to share the veggie gyoza and it made for a great starter. I had ordered this when I got my meal to go and the dine in version was definitely better. I wanted to try a variety of their menu items so I ordered the tofu bento box and let me tell you, it was so much food, I couldn't finish it all. It came with crispy tofu, stir fry veggies, a california roll, miso soup, a house salad, two shrimp, veggie tempura, spicy cucumber, potato bokkeum (pan fried potatoes), and a spring roll. All of this was only $19.95. Holy cow! The miso soup, salad, shrimp, veggie tempura, and spring roll were my favorite. This spot would be great for a date or night out with friends and I will definitely be coming back!

I went here for the first time because I heard about the happy hour on Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday. I had to get my sushi fix but as a college student it's hard to find it for the right price. At Domo I was able to get 3 rolls that ranged from $3-6 each. Also two glasses of wine! I came here solo and the ambiance and service was very welcoming. I will definitely be going here from now on!

We were there around noon on a Sunday so they were not very busy but that was okay with us. I had made a Resy reservation because they recommended it. The interior is decorated very well and the light is slightly dimmed for a nice ambiance! They have really nice, and solid, dinnerware and glassware. We started with the crab rangoon tarts, 3 in an order, and the edamame. The tart shells were so buttery and the filling was the usual luscious crab mix. The edamame comes with salt or spicy, we chose salt. There was enough for all 3 of us. The drinks we chose were the Gin & Tea and the Lychee Martini. Both were delicious and the foam on both were handshaken and so creamy. The Gin & Tea was a surprise winner and I highly recommend it. We ordered 5 rolls. The Naruto, Center, Fantastic, Tiger and Dancing Salmon. I love Naruto rolls without the rice and nori, instead wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber. This one was well made and stayed together when using my chopsticks. It allows the fish to shine! The Center Roll had spicy tuna and a topping of avocado, masago and spicy mayo. It's what you would expect and well done. The Tiger Roll has a mix inside and on top. Each bite was a little different and delicious. The Fantastic Roll was just that! It had a lobster salad inside and slightly scorched Japanese scallops on top. The smokiness of the scallop was surprising and delicate and complemented the sweeter lobster salad. The Dancing Salmon roll had eel inside and salmon outside. I'm not a huge eel fan but this roll I ate and enjoyed. I hadn't had good restaurant sushi since NYC and this was up there with it. The quality of the fish, the server, the host and the overall atmosphere will bring go me back!!

And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. A cool place to hang out, not far from campus, and drink, and eat good food till you're stuffed.

Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.
