I really wasn't sure I was going to like this place as much as I did but OMG did they exceed what I was expecting!! First off, we came 40 minutes before closing so if they went above and beyond when it's that close to closing, I wonder how superior their service is during the day. FOOD: We ordered a Ramen, poke bowl and French fries and look at my pics. Look at them... The food was incredible! And dangg that ramen was seething hot (still!) once we got home. The French fries were some of the best I've ever had! It had like red seasoning on it (not Cajun but something else) so it had more flavor than just sea salt. The poke had tuna and salmon, cucumber, red onion, green onion, seaweed, mango, brown rice, spicy aioli, garlic crisps, avocado and I forgot the name of the little orange balls but that's ALWAYS my go to order for any poke and it was delicious and fresh when we got home. I didn't try the Ramen but my husband loved it and he don't really care for ramen like that so, must've been really good. And freaking hot still after the drive home! THE SPACE: Self order Kiosks we're very convenient! While they were making our order, they (2 employees inside) didn't have to stop to take more orders since there was a kiosk for anyone who came in. It's kind of small in there but there was plenty of seating. Area was clean too. But what really caught me off guard was the nice, sturdy and reusable bags they gave us for our to go food! I have drove by Domoishi many times when I shop at Royal Oaks H-E-B. I only noticed it recent month. One day, I walked in and saw the friendly menu items smiling at me. I couldn't resist to try something. This restaurant is actually the second one in Houston, UH has it before here. The small footprint reminds me of campus-style food vendor. Talking about all-in-one fast-food joint, they serve Hawaiian poké, Japanese Ramen & rice bowls, Taiwanese boba teas and other finger food, including my favorite Korean style wings. I couldn't find any other places that serves all my favorites at one location. I feel home away from home, Domoishi has become a must-have during my grocery shopping trip. I had a quick chat with the manager. I heard the company is expanding and we're going to see more Domoishi in Houston area in coming years. This chain originated in Richmond Virginia in 2019 by restauranteur Sam Huang, who also founded Sushi King. I like the concept and uniform interior style. You can order at the cashier, self-serve counter, or from an app. My food is normally takeout. I rarely sit in there because I would want to order more food. My favorite is the Poké Bowl. There are so many different ways to make the bowl. They are equally delicious. The shrimps are bigger than other poké restaurants that I've been. They tasted natural and no additive. Rices are cooked perfectly for me. The prices are reasonable for this economy. Food quality and customer service exceeded my normal experience from Houston Chinatown. read more

This place is always fresh and fast. They give large portions. I particularly like that since I appreciate leftovers. I ordered a vegetarian bowl and it came with so many options! I decided not to get corn in mine, but it has seaweed, edamame, greens.... you name it. Lots of fresh ingredients. I also ordered the crab salad. It came with some fish eggs on top (I might not do that the next time), but it was absolutely delicious and fresh as well. Nice tiny place, portions are large but for sushi rice is rather a bit wet which is a no on in any Asian cooking. Add on with the sauces and this thing is like gumbo. Don't get me wrong, the flavors are good but the texture once mixing everything is not so nice. Then you might argue and say why the hell you added all that sauce on? Your meal becomes rather bland and you don't have much choice since you place your order thru a kiosk unless I guess you request to have them put it on the side which becomes a interference with the person working who has to take care of a bunch orders. I think this place attempts to be a jack of all trades and ends up being a master of none. The cashier was nice, and we were given free drinks as part of their grand opening special. They have several things on their menu, but I think they could benefit from focusing on quality over quantity of items. The drinks we got were pretty good. The beef curry was a bit disappointing. At first sight, I was a bit nervous to eat it because the color was off. It wasn't bad in flavor. It tasted like those premade curry mixes. The rice portion was way too much in comparison to the amount of curry you get. The egg was also still cold when I bit into it which was not pleasant. The ramen's broth was very bland. The noodle was surprisingly good though. It had a lot of seasoning on it. The pork was very thin. The wings actually were pretty good! Better than soho chicken's Korean fried chicken. came back with my fiance this time and we decided to get a snack and some drinks. the service was fast, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is lovely. the pork cha shu bun is appealing to look at and delicious. the bun itself is sweet and there is a perfect amount of sauce and green onions on it. the rose yogurt tea is nice--i expected it to be more like a yakult, but it's still wonderful. the fresh fruit is a nice touch, too. the takoyaki is well made and flavorful. it's not overly under cooked and batter-like on the inside either, like most takoyaki around here seems to be. there are a lot of bonito flakes on top so if that's not your thing ask for less. the oolong milk tea is a perfect milk tea--not overpoweringly sweet and the boba is a great, chewy texture. the service here is wonderful, employees are kind and patient and i am glad to come back a second time! read more

I just noticed this place for the first time sipping at HEB this morning figured I'd come back once they open and give them a try & I'm soo happy I did. It quite small but plenty dining space for a quick bite. You order at the kiosk as soon as you walk in and the order is announced on your side as well as behind the register where they start prepping immediately. The woman who served me was really nice and made sure to give me my drink while I waited. For the drink I got the Peach Oolong with passion fruit boba (I drank most of it before I could snap a shot. & for food I got double Spicy tuna and this bowl was soo delicious! First and foremost I'd like to thank my cousin Kathleen for this recommendation. I had a great first time experience. So when I first arrived I just wanted a bowl but my cousin said I had to try the wings. The store front stands out but nothing like the inside. It's got vibrant colors and a fun atmosphere. So my poke bowl was the 2 protein bowl - spicy tuna and shrimp I went with cucumber, green onions, jalapeños, red onions, seaweed, salad, fish, egg. And for my sauces I want me to combination of the spicy pokey and Sriracha mayo, garnish with crispy garlic and dried seaweed. For the wings I went with the six piece Korean style wings just with the spicy, soy garlic sauce. Now I know I'm used to larger variety of poke ingredients but DOMOISHI offers so much. From poke to and wings to snacks and shakes. This is definitely one of this places you gotta come back to cause you can't try enough combinations of foods and dishes. For the taste test- LET ME TELL YOU!!! The wings are so crisp and well coated. The spicy soy garlic sauce is sooooo delicious I want a chicken sandwich made with this sauce. The poke bowl ( of course my build) was delicious but here's what DOMO got that all other places don't. SIZE !!! The way they win is by doing everything big. Each scoop of ingredients Big. The slices of veggies Big. Flavors Big. And you get a dope reusable bag to match you order size. That to me is Big. I have never left a yelp review. Today is that day. We paid $56 to have two beef curry bowls and tea delivered. That's fine. But when it showed up, both drinks were made wrong- (we ordered two different drinks, both were the same and both had the wrong boba.). The worst part is the beef curry bowl is basically inedible and made completely differently than as described and shown online. We tried to call and talk to someone- phones never get answered. $56 down the drain and no one to explain why. read more

We went here for ramen since it has 4.5 stars in yelp- was disappointed. Everything is ala carte- you pay for the soup base then if you want to add toppings, they're extra.. even if you want to lessen the spice they charge you .50 cents.. broth is too thin for tonkatsu and noodles is not thick like the ones we had from other Japanese eateries. I am surprised this place has so many good reviews. It was very disappointing. First, it's a tiny place. There was only one person working who was taking orders, making orders, serving orders and answering the phone, so service was very slow. And this was at lunch time. You can order and pay at a kiosk, which I did. And you have to get your own drink out of a cooler. Then the lady tried to make pay for a drink that I'd already paid for at the kiosk. She then tried to get me to sit at a table that had cell phone plugged into the wall sitting on it. I tried to give her the phone because I thought it was hers or someone left it. She wouldn't take the phone and told me to go talk to the the phone's owner at a different table if I didn't want to have his phone at my table. Keep in mind the tables are the tiniest tables ever. I ended up having to sit at an even smaller side table at the end of the service counter. The food was not any better. I had bulgogi beef bun and Korean wings. The beef was definitely not bulgogi beef and was simply shaved beef that is used in the ramen. It was bland and tasted microwaved. Frankly, it was terrible. The wings were ok. They were decent sized and hot and crispy. But there was very little sauce or seasoning so they too lacked flavor and mostly just tasted fried. My order was $20 which I thought was extremely over priced for what I got. read more
