SHIFT HAPPENS!!!!!…read more I don't mean to be dramatic, but Newport saved my life. When I was admitted, I was on a path that would have ended my life before it had even truly begun. Newport changed that. They tailor treatment to specifically target the areas that need improvement for each client. All of the staff are wonderful people, and I felt that they really cared about me as an individual. There is a good variety of groups, including yoga, adventure therapy, and several forms of expression groups (art, music, crafts, etc.) as well as individual and family therapy. They have clinicians on call nearly around the clock and the facilities are VERY nice. Newport feels more like a home than a treatment facility. Newport will always come highly recommended by me!!

I'd give Lighthouse 10 stars if I could. I don't know where to begin on how thankful I am for this…read morepeace of heaven on earth. Being my first time in treatment, I didn't know what to expect or what I had committed myself to but, Lighthouse was there for me every step of the way. From detox to completion of treatment, I received nothing but love, support and respect being as broken as I was. They treated me with compassion, understanding and operated within God's grace while taking care of me every step of the way. Through their help and programming, I was able to not just rehabilitate my health. They helped to rehabilitate my mind. They were able to do for me in 3 months what I was incapable of doing for myself. Because of Lighthouse, I have my life back. My marriage is back on track, my kids have their father back but most importantly I restored my relationship with God during my stay. I couldn't have done this without their help or support. I was failing on my own. Lighthouse made it so that I was able to focus on healing myself from the inside out. Thank you so much for church, gym, yoga, offsite meetings and all the extras like game night and movie night. It was the first time I had done (or was able to do) any of those things sober in YEARS. Thank you so much for the clinical groups, motivational speakers and panels. It opened my eyes to a difference in perspective and understanding when it came to addiction and how much people need to be loved. Truly humbling. A special thank you to Tyler and Teresa for doing such a great job at the facility. Between staff and taking a look around, it really does show how much they care about what they do. Thank you to everyone at intake, the front office and administration. With all your patience and calm demeanors, you make it look easy. Shout out to kitchen staff for all their hard work and making sure everyone there was always well fed (miss the food for sure). Taco Tuesdays were the best! Thank you to the nurses and doctors. You always made sure we had what we needed when we needed it. When it comes to staff, it's extremely difficult for me to pick favorites. They are ALL great. It's apparent that going above and beyond is their standard mode of operation. With that being said... Special thanks to: *Candice. The most bad a$$, straight forward, sweetest person I've ever met. Thank you for your honesty, positivity, caring and being straightforward about everything. *Edmund. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and wisdom when it came to the reality of dealing with real life circumstances. *Mike! FAFO, don't be late! Thank you for the discipline you incorporated into the program and showing how much you cared that we all succeeded. *Austin. Thank you for being so down to earth and taking the awkwardness out of being honest about addiction. I'll never forget the game "In My Addiction." It shined new light on how I wasn't alone in the struggle and helped me to be more open about myself. *Alfonso. Thank you so much for having those real, heart to heart conversations with myself and the group, sharing how the dynamics of our behavior shapes our habits which influences our lives (no loitering!). *Joey. Thank you for all your encouraging, compassionate declamations amongst the groups showing kindness is alive and well. *Rob. Thank you for your constant, positively radiant attitude and the diligence you incorporate into all you do. *Kaylee. Honestly, thanks for being awesome with everything and everyone. *Liz. Sooooo good. Thank you for educating me on my blood pressure and the importance of the numbers and what they signify. Your energy was always fun to be around. *Ronnie. Thank you for always trying to help a brotha' out. *Timmy. Thank you for your patience with me while making sure I was taken care of in detox. *Paddy. Thank you so much for your sweet, caring demeanor and the encouragement you gave me in detox. Lighthouse was truly my home away from home. Their hearts are in everything they do. Thank you tremendously for everything. Keep up the great the work and God bless you. -Samuel Sa

My man is Michael. I'm a 42 year old man on methadone maintenance that has struggled with a panic…read moredisorder since high school. In my teenage years and my early twenties I had a severe addiction to short acting opiates. Mostly OxyContin. I was also prescribed 6mg of Xanax daily for the majority of my life. I was dropped from my provider and left in a dire situation. I was familiar with Dr. B as I had been following his content for years and had used several of his videos as teaching aids. I never thought that I would get the chance to ACTUALLY work with him. I'll forever be grateful for the care and compassion of Dr. B and his treatment team. I've never met anyone as knowledgeable about addiction, pharmacokinetics, and human behavior as this man. He's not just intelligent either. He's extremely kind and has an amazing bedside manner. Meeting him was a surreal experience for me. It's like meeting one of your heroes. I am so used to being treated like a second-class citizen and having my opinions and experience dismissed. This was absolutely not the case here. It was completely different. I had recently titrated down to 4mg-5mg daily from 6mg of Xanax. I arrived in California with no medication. I met with Dr. B and his team at Zephyr Medical Group. After an evaluation he said; "I have a sneaking suspicion that I can stabilize you on 1mg Klonopin T.I.D. I would've doubted anyone else. However, I trusted Dr. B and agreed to his plan. At this point I was at the height of benzodiazepine withdrawal. I was on day two with no medication and I looked like the walking dead. Despite my prescription being written the pharmacy downstairs was unable to fill it. I was able to get ahold of Dr. B's assistant Nichole (who is an amazing human being and a large part of this company's success) who relayed that information to Dr. B. I was able to speak with the P.A.'s who tried to find another pharmacy CLOSE BY for me to pick up my medication. I got to the pharmacy only to be told that I would have to wait 24 hours as it was a controlled medication. I could not wait 24 hours. I called Nichole back in a state of panic. She was able to calm me down and assured me that Dr. B would fix this and was on his way to a pharmacy. She said he would be in touch in 30 minutes. Sure enough, he was! He PHYSICALLY left his office and drove 45 minutes away (to a compounding pharmacy he works with) and informed them that I would be coming and explained my situation. He was actually going to deliver the meds to me IN PERSON! Which would've been another 45 minutes out of his way. This type of stuff never happens. Especially to a lowly methadone patient. I don't care who you are, this type of care is rarely seen (if ever) and deserves to be recognized. I'm not joking when I say that I thought that last Uber ride to the pharmacy might actually be my last. That's the severity I'm talking about. Since I've been here, Dr. B has met with me several times and is constantly checking in to make sure that I'm doing alright. The way that he does things is far different and much more personal than anything I'VE experienced or anything I've even SEEN. He believed in me when I wasn't sure that I could believe in myself. Of course he was right. I've stabilized on 3mg of Klonopin. Significantly lower than the 6mg of Xanax AND I'm getting better medication coverage. I don't have that horrible feeling in between doses either. I'll never forget the care I've received here. Dr. B is not just an amazing and talented doctor he's a wonderful human being. He surrounds himself with people that aren't just knowledgeable but people that actually CARE. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to work with Dr. B and his team and for the personalized care that he delivered. He's one of the good ones. He understands addiction and he won't judge you. I don't believe you'll find anywhere NEAR the level of expertise and compassion that I've found here. Thank you Dr. B! Thank you Nichole! I will never forget the kindness that you both have shown me and others LIKE me.

I am blessed to have Dr. B treating me and managing my medication. Dr. B gets it and he is very…read moreknowledgeable when it comes to these types of medications and drugs/alcohol abuse. I was an executive professional using Xanax, for 10+ years straight every day taking 15-20mg a day. I also drank a lot of alcohol and for about 2-3 years I added Oxy to my addiction that I had no idea it was laced with fentanyl and morphine. (Oxy was introduced to me when I learned I had two collapsed disc in my neck). Long story short, when I went to get help my PCP referred me to Dr. B because my PCP actually attended one of Dr. B's events. My PCP even told me that "Dr. B is the best in Orange County, CA." I was already going through detox hard so before I saw Dr. B, I found another doctor that I thought could help me a lot faster like that very day. Medication wise it felt like that doctor stripped everything away too quickly and they were also changing my psych dosages because I was getting really weird symptoms like body jerking/horrific muscle spasms, brain felt like it was shaking or trembling, skin felt like it was on fire at times, seeing flashing lights and the terrible list goes on with the highest anxiety I have ever felt (anxiety, and panic attacks was how I got introduced to Xanax by the way) When I met Dr. B, he knew exactly what to do, knew exactly what I was going through. I honestly believe, God put Dr. B in my life to help SAVE my life. I live a completely different life now, and I have over seven months sober. I can't thank Dr. B enough. Anytime I'm with Dr. B, I feel safe, and I know that he understands me and passes no judgment against me. I highly recommend other doctor's, physicians to listen and follow Dr. B's ways of thinking and ways of treatments. The world would be in a much better place if there were more Dr. B's out there lol.. I have gone through several years of doctors/physicians/ER doctors/ anyone who worked in medicine treating me like I was nothing , I didn't matter, I'm a bum, trash etc., but there were several times where I really wanted help and these doctors cast a judgment on me really fast seems like I had a label on my forehead and never got the help I needed. again thank you Dr. B. You are a miracle and I am so grateful for you. And I know I am not the only one he has helped, this man I know has helped probably more than thousands of people in his lifetime so far!

I was on a path of self-destruction and was able to right myself towards a path of recovery wholly due to the care, compassion, counseling, therapy, and education imparted by the Lighthouse Leadership Team and Staff. This is a truly an exceptional program focused on a holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery. All facets crucial to a healthy and successful launch to recovery are carefully addressed, focused on restoring physical, mental, and emotional states of well-being. Physical health is carefully monitored and medical needs are addressed and met by a competent and compassionate medical team. In addition to 24 hour access to snacks and beverages, nutritional needs are met by an outstanding kitchen staff, where healthy, well-balanced, freshly prepared and delicious meals are provided three times a day. Psychological education essential to the recovery process is imparted by well-trained and empathetic personnel whose compassion and dedication is readily apparent from day one. Both a licensed counselor and therapist are personally assigned to each client for one-on-one weekly meetings, who also have an open door policy to effectively address any needs related to your treatment progress.
