I'm not Mexican, don't hail from Southern California and don't get too snobby about tortillas, but DB is an oasis of really solid food in an otherwise barren hood. Everything is done right, from the very polite telephone manner, friendly and fast delivery and excellent at quality food at a very good price. I order from here once a week and it's always spot on. The al pastor is delicious in a burrito, as a fajita or tacos. The steak is also great. They do melt cheese over the burritos which some people don't like. Okay Don Burrito is by far the mexican food i've had to date. It's a tradition for me and my friends to go every possible sunday night we can. They have $4 Coronas and I highly suggest the Enchiladas Poblanos, but they make a mean quesadilla too if you're not into slightly spicy. Definitely check it out! read more

The owner is rude & nasty. I called to place an order (In Spanish, for those who claim better service for Spanish speakers you are dead wrong the terrible treatment is the same) the owner asked me several times if I was sure I was using MY credit card (implying I stole it), I said yes, it is MY card. She ran my card and claimed the security code was wrong, I offered to re-read the entire number, she raised her voice and said "NO, I'm telling you the security code is wrong!" After a frustrating back and forth she said she would run my card without the code to see if it went through, then she hung up on me. I called my bank to see if there were issues with my card and they said there was absolutely no problem with my card and the purchase had been charged. Food is so so if you are in a bind, but honestly, not worth dealing with that awful woman. read more

This is a lovely neighborhood spot. The ambiance is cozy, the prices are very reasonable, the sangria goes down easy, the food is yummy, and everything starts with homemade chips and salsa. I would definitely recommended this place to anyone in the area for a nice, but affordable meal. read more

I ate here only because my son liked their food. My son has grown and moved out of Brooklyn. Thank god for that because I don't have to go here any more now!! First, the lady, I think she is the wife of the owner, has no manner, no respect, no courtesy, stand-off'ish, stuck up, ego ridden, unprofessional with horrible customer service. Sometimes, we waited over 45 minutes for our food. I recall one incident where I asked for my food after 40 minutes, the lady got mad, and yelled something toward the kitchen, and our food never came. One other time, I ordered beef fajita. It came all burnt with black coal all over, I sent it back, and had to wait 40 minutes for a replacement. I stopped ordering food over the phone because I didn't want to deal with that horrible woman and they never could get my order right. Only when people stop giving them business, that woman will change her bad attitude. Don't go here, you will regret it! read more

Holy crap! I had the best Burrito of my life here. $7 for El Mexicano Burrito. It is hands down one of the best things i have ever tasted, if you find yourself in the area (It's right next to the Train Station) then go for it. The staff was eh But the Burrito was delicious, they were even kind enough to provide chips and salsa during the wait. I have dined in and gotten takeout from this restaurant many times. The food is pretty good, the service is pretty slow, and the TV playing telenovelas is pretty annoying. I had a vexing experience last night, which I now understand from reading D.B's review. I called in an order, and got home to discover they had gotten it wrong. When I called to complain, the woman I spoke to insisted that I had indeed ordered chicken (which would be a strange thing for a vegetarian to do) and started to yell at me. Apparently this woman is the proprietor, and knows little about customer service. The rest of the staff are friendly and pleasant, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere. nope. and that is a sad "nope". i wanted desperately to like this place, especially since my former "go to" spot for mexican (la guadalupana, formerly on coney island avenue at turner place) has been closed : ( but i'm sorry, it was just terrible. we ordered a burrito, it was just "meh". no flavors, nothing really great. there was melted cheese on the top and it wasn't even tasty. the salsa that came on the side was ok, nothing special. the rice and beans were just mediocre. we got 2 tostadas too, which were also just okay. i can't help but compare to both la guadalupana and cinco de mayo, where the food is actually ACTUAL - this feels like mexican mcdonalds with no dollar menu! if i'm gonna get crappy, pared down mexican food, at least give me cheap. i could've had a beautiful, huge, and actually flavorful burrito from either guadalupana (well, okay not from guadalupana anymore, but you know what i'm saying) or cinco de mayo for the same price. a cinco burrito is good for a meal and a snack later on - this one is gone and i'm still like where's the beef? : ( read more

I love this place! there aren't many options in this area for any food, but this is definitely one of my top choices. it is home cooking, better then the basic Mexican fare. i order out mostly, but despite the location, it has it's charm and the owners definitely take pride of their place. it is colorful and always clean. the Enchilada Verdes are amazing, you must try it!! read more

Called to place an order for delivery. After placing my order I noticed the subtotal was higher than usual. They were charging me extra $ for hot sauce and when I asked why? I was lectured about how nothing is free in a rude manner. The food here while cheap is mediocre, charging me 3$ for hot sauce was preposterous. I ended up cancelling my order. read more

Easy place to walk past without noticing, but it would be your massive loss. The food is always tasty and impressively inexpensive. A table for four, with appetizers, entrees and drinks, barely makes a dent in the wallet - no need to dread the bill. Totally recommending the fajitas - sizzling and flavorful! The burrito Verde is also a perennial favorite - never seen anyone try it and not like it. Thank God I found this place. I was craving Mexican food after I moved to Ditmas Park and all I found was that awful Cinco De Mayo. Then I found Don Burrito...Praise God...It was wonderful. The chicken mole was outstanding and my husband loved the tacos al pastor. I love swinging by and having a plate of yummy nachos with some delicious dos equis amber. Great food, good prices, excellent variety. The food is delicious and they are so friendly. I go to this place usually with friends or family. I think sometime I should go just with my boyfriend since the food is so yummy. The portions are very generous so you may even end up taking some food home with you. Like other reviewers have said, the guacamole is amazing. I also really like their horchata and it's something I try to order everytime I go there. My only peeve is that you can wait a really long time after placing an order but I suppose that is because they make everything fresh. read more
