Asada and pastor plate (I took a couple bites already)

Sometimes the street food stalls do it better than any brick and mortar shop. The place has crunchy chilaquiles made to order. The green sauce packs some heat, so get that horchata ready. The combo come with 2 eggs. $16 can get you lunch and dinner.

    Red Chilaquiles with Al Pastor

Saw a post hyping up this establishment and honestly the video did make the Chilaquiles look pretty good that it made me want to go try them out. For a place to be called Don Chilaquiles I feel you have to really live up to the name. I was so disappointed with the whole experience from the get go. The cashier taking my order was let's just say thinking of something else and not work that day. I had to repeat my order multiple times. I almost thought she was playing with me on how times I had to repeat my order. The cooks were pretty busy and moving fast trying to get the orders out as quickly as possible. Good sense of urgency on behalf of the cooks was the only positive thing from this place. Their salsa bar was a little messy and they were out of raw onions. I asked the cashier if they had more onions and she said no, whatever was there is all they had. Chilaquiles with no onions? Now let me get to the Chilaquiles. I bought some red with Al Pastor & some green with Carne Asada. My order to go so I asked for the salsa on the side so my chips wouldn't get soggy. Green sauce was just ok and the red sauce was not it. Meats were just okay. So overall on taste a 3 out of 5. Again live up to your name and with that being said won't be driving 20-25 minutes back to this place again. Correction on the positives from Don Chilaquiles. The Agua de Maracuya was delicious. If their name was Don Aguas de Maracuya I would say yes crown yourself.

We ordered the American breakfast, which is supposed to come with: eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Instead we got eggs, bacon, potatoes, beans and a pancake that was a mix between a cookie and dry corn bread. The orange juice is freshly squeezed with fresh SEEDS included. The over easy eggs were swimming in oil as well as the potatoes. Everything was just oily. They advertise their daily agua frescas on a hand written menu but when we ask for horchata they said "not today". Should've gone to the burger joint down the block instead. Waste of time and money. I'm giving it 2 stars because of good coffee and friendly servers.

It's the type of place that I would be stoked finding it, if I was on a road trip driving from California through Texas (and through New Mexico). It just has that certain quality of authenticity or how you would imagine a Mexican spot like you see in the movies or something. I came in for a late lunch so I was the only one in the restaurant so the service was pretty quick. The menu is full of those combination classics that you would see at certain Mexican restaurants. I ended up ordering the three tacos dorados combo. I thought the food was great. Because it wasn't busy at the time parking was easy to find on the street. I parked right out front.
