Mexican Coke and their house salsas

This is the old halal guys in Countryside turned into a taqueria. The concept is you order at the counter then it will serve to you or will call your receipt number. They have a complimentary Achara (pickled carrots and cauliflower), on one of the counter - serve yourself. It's nice of them to have this and this is delicious, the sourness of vinegar is just right. We ordered 3 kinds of Tacos (carnitas, ground beef and steak), topped with onion and cilantro. They make their own tortilla (they own a tortilla factory, too). All are good and you can taste the quality of meats. For $3.95 each this a good deal. In-house salsas on a squeeze bottle, their hottest jalapeno salsa is not that hot, actually. I enjoyed the mild green salsa on my tacos. Inside is very casual and communal. You can share the long table with others. Parking can be bad on a busy day. Will I go back, Yes!

Two steak tacos with a variety of hot salsa and pickled carrots cauliflower and green onion to help yourself delicious.

Food was delicious. I only had two steak tacos, but the meat was deliciously flavored tender moist. I requested to have my tacos with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cilantro. I was not charged extra for the lettuce in the tomato. The tacos were about four something each total cost for two tacos no drink no anything else. Just two tacos was $9.08 tax included.. service was great very pleasant and they bring the food out to your table along with hot salsas. The ambience feels like a fast food restaurant, but it's great for In-N-Out type of eating you can come in with your family. I rate this four out of five stars. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars was because the tacos were a little small for the cost, but overall experience excellent

    Steak Burrito?

Expensive for the size of the meat given. Mostly filler in the steak burrito. Not a lot of taste. Might as well have called it a lettuce flavored burrito. Chicken was underwhelming as well little flavor. Fries undercooked and no fountain drinks, just cans. Good Service, Nice surroundings. That's why they got two stars

Don Javi Taco Grill is easily one of the best new additions to the Countryside area. We're in the neighborhood often and were excited to try it when it opened on La Grange Road--and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Although they're part of a small local chain, the restaurant feels anything but corporate. Knowing they make their tortillas in‑house at their own factory in Stone Park really shows in the quality of the food. The restaurant is a freestanding building with a drive‑thru and easy parking. Inside, it's clean, modern, and welcoming, with sealed concrete floors, an open ceiling with exposed black ductwork, and a relaxed neighborhood vibe. The only downside was the hard plastic chairs, which weren't the most comfortable--but that was a minor issue in an otherwise great experience. Ordering is done at the counter, with food and drinks brought directly to your table. There's no self‑serve soda fountain, but refills were offered without hesitation. They also have a nice selection of bottled and canned Mexican and American beverages. The service truly stood out. The staff was genuinely friendly from the moment we walked in, and the chef/manager stopped by our table twice to check on us and make sure everything was perfect. That level of attentiveness says a lot about how much they care. The food was excellent across the board. We started with chips and queso, and the queso was rich, creamy, and far better than anything mass‑produced. I ordered the Mexican‑style steak--thinly sliced steak with onions and peppers served with their fresh, house‑made tortillas. It was flavorful and perfect for building fajita‑style tacos. My husband had the thin salted beef with rice, beans, and tortillas, while our third diner chose three tacos: fish, asada, and pastor. The fish taco was the clear favorite, but all three were well prepared and satisfying. We also appreciated that all meats are cooked mild by default, with spice levels easily customized. We finished with an unforgettable dessert: chocolate cake topped with flan. Each layer could stand on its own, but together they were outstanding--the flan in particular was silky, rich, and not overly sweet. From the warm service to the fresh tortillas and consistently great food, Don Javi Taco Grill is a fantastic addition to the area. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Highly recommend.

This one needs a Michelin star for mastering the art of Fast Food ! Excellent overall. Very nice location. Easy to find. Very nice signage. Beautiful designed place. Bathrooms clean and have a baby station. They pack a big punch in Fast Food. It's all in the details, which they forgot= none. I had their Steak Torta. Fresh ingredients, portions were spot on. I liked that it was toasted , added another dimension to the sandwich. They had 4 Salsas to try ; I found the Medium Green Sauce was the most enjoyable for the Torta. Best flavor compliment the sandwich, IMO. The Extra Hot packs a big punch. The Hot was accurate as well. The Horchata . So good, look no further, it's perfect Horchata. They offer catering and sweets as well. They make their own tortillas . Polite staff. 5's here no doubt.

The food was prepared fresh and came out delicious. It didn't take very long, which I wouldn't have minded since it isn't fast food anyway. I got a chorizo torta and it was amazing, toasted to perfection and all. I will say it was a bit more greasy than I prefer but I didn't kin. The inside of the restaurant was a bit empty but quiet and well decorated, pleasant on the eyes. I really enjoyed the chiles en vinagre they had for us to grab! Always makes a meal complete for me. I'm definitely coming back.

I was looking for something warm and flavorful after a long day, and chicken fajitas seemed like the perfect choice. I also ordered a side of rice and sour cream, but upon seeing how large of an amount of food was delivered, I think I may have been able to get by without the additional sides! The chicken fajitas meal included a generous amount of seasoned chicken, refried beans, rice, sour cream, lettuce, a flavorful side sauce, and flour tortillas. There were enough ingredients to make many delicious wraps! The best part of this dish was the chicken, extremely flavorful and well cooked! The flavors all blended together and everything tasted fresh and enjoyable. The tortillas, the flavor of the chicken and the standard sides created a very scrumptious meal! The only downside was that the delivery of my Uber Eats was a bit longer than I expected. However, the food was still great and enjoyed upon arrival. I would definitely be willing to order from Fajitas Mexican Restaurant again, however, I believe I would try dining in on the next occasion to enjoy the meal fresh from the kitchen!

This is an updated review, and unfortunately I'm writing this with a great deal of disappointment…read morebecause my previous experiences at La Cabanita had always been enjoyable. The food is normally very good and we've had many great visits over the years. This time, however, things were different. The experience itself wasn't up to the standards I've come to expect, but what really left me stunned happened afterward. Like many people, I was reconciling my monthly expense report and happened to compare my receipt to what was actually charged to my card. My signed receipt, including tip, clearly showed $69.99. However, when I checked my statement, I was charged $72.78. Now, we're not talking about some life-changing amount of money. It's only a few dollars. But that's almost what makes it worse. It wasn't some outrageous charge that immediately jumps out at you. It felt... sneaky. Maybe there's an explanation, and I sincerely hope there is, because it appears that Jose added a little something extra for himself after the fact. I honestly don't even know what to do. The amount isn't going to bankrupt me, but that's not really the point. When you trust a restaurant with your card, you expect the amount you signed for and the amount you're charged to be exactly the same. That's a pretty basic expectation. What makes this especially disappointing is that La Cabina Villa has always been one of my go-to places. I've recommended it to family and friends and have had many enjoyable meals there. A bad night in the kitchen can happen. Service issues can happen. But losing trust is much harder to recover from. At this point, I'm less angry than I am genuinely disappointed and confused. I never thought I'd find myself double-checking charges from a place I've enjoyed for years. Hopefully management can investigate this situation and provide some answers, because right now this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Burritos the size of a half loaf of bread…read more In looking around Brookfield for a place to eat at before we hit up Galloping Ghost Arcade, every online comment pointed to trying Taco Azteca. My dad was down for some tacos so we hit up Taco Azteca before we got to gaming. I actually drove by the place, missing the turn to get there due to the strange parking lot situation. After a loop around the block, we pull in to the shared parking lot and headed inside. My dad was looking at the menu on the drive up and was waffling between a taco salad and a burrito. Once I placed my order for a beef burrito, my dad followed up with the same thing. We tried to find a place to sit but the place isn't too conducive to eating in with the few tables they had were either taken or dirty from the prior visitor. The staff was super nice and friendly in trying to get a table cleaned up for us. We ended up snagging one and were promptly served tortilla chips with some of the best guacamole I have ever had. I'm not big on guac as I find it to taste too similar to pumpkin (everyone I tell this looks at me like I am crazy) but this stuff was delicious and had a nice kick to it. My dad found the sauce in one of the bottles to be spicy as hell and passed on using more of it. I found them to be quite yummy but I love me some heat. We nearly devoured half the chips by the time the food came out. They were that good and the food came out that fast. I'm used to Mexican-sized burritos but these might take the cake. They were MASSIVE. I showed everyone I know and their eyes got huge when they saw how big it was. The fries that came with it were those with the little bits of batter on them and I knew they were going to be good. I knew we were in for a good time. How do you even eat something that big? Very slowly and somewhat messy, that's how. I devoured half my tasty fries to free up space on my plate just in case I made a mess. Luckily, this burrito held itself together rather nicely. The burrito was super tasty but I do feel like maybe a chicken or pork version would've been better. I like beef but wasn't in the mood for it when I ate my burrito. That's on me though for not paying attention when ordering and accidentally getting beef. My dad loved his burrito and was able to put the whole thing down since he didn't eat breakfast. I had breakfast so I was only able to put down a little over half. My bottomless pit of a stomach isn't so bottomless now that I am almost 40 (a week shy of 39 during this visit). Overall, Taco Azteca lived up to the hype and was worth every bite. I really wanted to get some of the guac to go. My only warning is that the parking lot is shared and can be tight as well as the seats inside. This place serves better for carry-out if it's busy like it was when we were there.

This ties into the excellent service, as the food came out relatively quickly. The staff was friendly and engaged in conversation. One standout employee, Jose, continually checked to ensure that we had everything we needed and addressed any issues we had promptly. The ambience was clean, with staff wearing gloves while cooking. They were consistently cleaning, wiping down tables, and sweeping the floors. These are just a few aspects I look for when visiting a restaurant or food establishment.
