Nice service personnel. Good food, great variety. Clean and not terribly pricey. We will come again.

Old School Flair!…read more The Prohibition Hub brings the look and feel of an underground speakeasy to a modern-day level. Pretty slick-looking rustic bar greet you when you walk in. Not huge, but not a hole-in-the-wall either. The back wall informing customers of the bottles that they have behind the bar as well as the food offerings. Fantastic selection of bourbon for all brown liquor enthusiasts. Really, just about something for everyone, and more. Then, there's the aspect That You Don't See as much anymore. The cigar bar offering. A great selection of stogies to light ones fire for a relaxing drink and a slow smoke. But where to smoke this fine crafted cigar? Out on the smoking patio, but of course. Located just outside the bar, this intimate rooftop smoking section invites you just to sit and chill and relax with a few friends. Individual tables are integrated with cushioned seating areas that surround small fire pit tables. Offering a quiet warm place to relax and enjoy a very effortless night with Friends. Would I go back? Definitely. This was a favorite with a group of us that came out here after dinner one night. Great staff, good time was had by all and absolutely plan on visiting again.

Below the Union Hotel is a tavern called Mona's which is connected and an addition to The Union Hotel restaurant/12 room hotel. There's parking along the Main Street, as well as lots of spots in the back of the building. You can enter from the main entrance of the hotel and take the elevator down or you can head down the steps in the back to enter. Doesn't matter which way, just get here. We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package. If you live anywhere within an hour or even two, come here!! You won't regret this decision. Scrumptious!!!!

Crispy skin and great flavor. My only criticism is I got four snap peas; that's it. A few more veggies would have been nice. My wife enjoyed her burger a lot. It was a quick trip, so we managed to keep our little ones entertained. Frontier Tavern is a great option if you have kids since it's the more casual restaurant on property and has a variety of seating with a more lively atmosphere. They also offer an extensive kids menu with crayons so they can color and stay entertained. The main issue we had here was that the service wasn't really the best. We ordered our son's meal and repeated it at least 3 times since we've been working on getting our son to talk to servers. However, our son's meal came out first and it was completely wrong. The server was apologetic, but it also made it hard when the rest of the meals came and he had to watch us eat ours. The main entrees for me and my partner also came out cold. My partner got the shaved steak and cheese sandwich, which was soggy and just okay. My meal was also okay, the pulled pork sandwich but felt like it was drowning in sauce and was also served cold. Our daughter ordered the French Onion soup and she also didn't love it since it didn't taste as good as others. I'm not sure what that means! She is only 5 but clearly has elevated tastes! Finally, we asked for some other sides and our server pretty much forgot all that we asked. He was friendly but just not the most attentive. In the end, it was an okay experience and we'd probably go again. But it's a high price point for this area and had much better service at the other restaurants on property.

I want to start by saying that our server, Lydia, was fantastic. She was attentive, responsive, and…read moregenuinely seemed to care about our experience--especially when the food fell far short. In my view, good service deserves to be recognized regardless of kitchen performance, and Lydia absolutely earned that. This was our second visit. My wife and I enjoy oysters and were excited to find a nearby spot offering fresh half shells--especially with their $1 oyster special on Tuesday nights. On our first visit, we tried the "double D" oysters, which were large, plump, and fresh--exactly what we were hoping for. They were the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the lobster rolls didn't live up to the same standard. At that price point, they should be more substantial, and the bread should be appropriate for the dish. Instead, the roll was dry and the lobster portion was underwhelming. I'd recommend skipping it. That said, Lydia's service that night was excellent. Last night, however, was a different experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by someone who appeared to be the floor manager, who made seating two people without a reservation feel like an inconvenience--despite several open tables and a largely empty outdoor area. Not a great first impression. Once seated, we struck up a conversation with a nearby table and ordered an appetizer, a dozen mixed oysters, and entrees. I went with the flank steak sandwich featured on the menu, while my wife ordered the paella. The iced tea was good, and my wife's cocktail was well-made and generously poured--no complaints there. The salmon bite appetizer, while tasty, felt overpriced for what it was: essentially broiled salmon on lettuce with a maple glaze. When my sandwich arrived, it came with exactly three overcooked, limp asparagus spears--I should've gone for the tots. The sandwich itself was even more underwhelming: a small bun with maybe three ounces of meat, a few mushy onions, and some cheese. My first bite was mostly gristle and fat. I understand flank steak isn't a lean cut, but when served as a sandwich, it should be properly trimmed and sliced. There's no excuse for a $20 sandwich to be that poorly prepared. The overwhelming taste of black pepper didn't help either. I ended up sending it back after one bite. Lydia handled it as professionally as possible, but I declined a replacement. As for the paella, it raised a different issue--how do you end up with overcooked shrimp and undercooked scallops in the same hot dish? It doesn't make much sense. While the flavor was decent overall, the execution didn't justify the price. To summarize: Lydia is excellent--if you go, take care of her. The oysters remain a strong point: fresh, plump, and enjoyable, though they could be more generous with the horseradish and cocktail sauce. The biggest disappointment was the lack of accountability from management. There was no visit from the floor manager (Mr. Inconvenienced from earlier) or anyone from the kitchen to address the issues, leaving Lydia to handle everything herself. The wait staff deserves better. If you're going for oysters, it's worth a visit. If you're planning a full dinner, be prepared for high prices, small portions, and inconsistent execution. The service staff and menu have potential--but the kitchen needs to step up. One final note: if you're charging $36 for a pour of WhistlePig whiskey, it should be served properly--with a clean glass and appropriate ice. Serving it with debris floating in the glass is unacceptable. You lost that customer too. Lydia is the ONLY reason why this is rated above one star. Kitchen needs to step up. Big. You're going to start losing servers.
