I just discovered Don Tito for Taco Tuesday and I've been back about three times since then. The food is good and the wait was never long. My service wasn't the best last time but I would still return again. The prices are a little high but they serve fancy tacos, so I'm not surprised. My fave taco is the shrimp taco. It would be nice if they could restrict the number of people allowed inside, because when I visited in June, we were all crammed like sardines. The food is pretty good too. I came for brunch to watch the World Cup with friends on the rooftop and enjoyed the breakfast tacos and the $2 blood orange mimosa which was tart and refreshing. Last week I hit up Don Tito for the first time with friends who were visiting from out of town. Even though I work right down the street, this was the first time I had gone to Don Tito's. The vibe there is chill. They have a variety of seating across three spacious floors. They even have a rooftop bar that is perfect for happy hour cocktails. We sat on the second (middle) floor in a booth. The booths are cozy, and the volume is not too bad. Definitely a place people more so go for drinks, than dinner, so note that if you're looking for a quiet family dinner. We timed our visit for happy hour, that way we could hit up the happy hour menu. Two of my friends got the house margaritas, another got modelo, and I got a glass of red wine (per usual). The drinks were okay, its happy hour, and they're cheap so you can't really expect anything special. For dinner we all just ordered apps. We had chicken quesadillas, loaded chicken nachos, empanadas, and tacos. The food was all a hit. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with Mexican for happy hour. read more

A welcomed addition to the neighborhood - glad there's variety in Clarendon now. Came in here after work to get a late night dinner, wasn't in the mood to sit so decided to take get some takeout. Be forewarned, after 10:00PM the limited menu kicks in, so your only option is tacos. I felt bad because the bartender who took my order got reprimanded for sending in an order that was non-taco, and he himself didn't know. In any case for $22 I got 4 tacos, definitely weren't the size of a Taco Bamba or Charrito taco, though small, they were good. Yet I kinda wish something more came with the tacos. On a hot Saturday in August, my roommate and I were in search for cool drinks and cool vibes. Don Tito answered our call. We went for afternoon happy hour on the rooftop, which was lively without being overly crowded or loud. The mango margarita was good and strong. I tried the Surf and Turf tacos, mainly because I had never seen it on a menu before and it was a great price point at $10 for 2 tacos. Delicious small bite! Each taco came with 1 fried jumbo shrimp on top, which was enough to balance out the steak. Great Clarendon views and convenient street parking right next to the building. Only 4 stars because they were slightly short staffed, and their elevator was broken so we had to climb 5 flights of steps to get to the rooftop. Happy hour was Ok but not great as most restaurants/bars nearby haver similar/better happy hour. Taco was ok but not great. I would just go to casual Taco places for better taco. At least I had it at 50% off on Taco tuesday but if I paid the full price, I would have been very unhappy. Not worth the full price. Small and two tacos only. My favorite go to bar in the Clarendon area. I love this spot the drinks are soooo good. Especially the margarita's they have so many flavors. The vibes are nice the staff and bartenders are friendly. I will pick this place out of all the others bars on that strip. There's a upstairs dance floor but you can party on both levels. The bathrooms are clean with an attendant. You should definitely try the food it is good. I haven't had a bad bite yet. The best nights to go are on Friday and Saturday. You can go on Sunday if you're looking for a more reserved spot to just have a quick drink. Overall, it's a good spot to go to alone or with friends. You're guaranteed to have a good time. This is the perfect upscale Mexican restaurant I have been to. It features food that is delicious, served by professional waiters and a fun setting. My husband and I went during Happy Hour and not only enjoyed half off cocktails (the blood orange margarita was delicious) but great food. We had tacos that were filled with meat, yummy fried plantains, wings, salad and more. They serve warm Tortilla chips with salsa and the tortilla chips were freshly made, so thin you could almost see through them, and delicious salsa. Best happy hour in Clarendon, personally. Goes until 8pm, it's never too crowded but still lively. The margaritas are delicious (I usually get the "grande" size which is a very generous portion, but worth it if you are going to end up getting more than one regular sized drink). Tacos are nothing crazy but they're good. The chips are great and salsa, queso and guacamole are very very good too. Turns into a nightclub past ~11 which is a whole different situation but I love coming here to start the night, hang out for a bit and then head somewhere else. read more

I am definitely a fan of Don Tito's. If you are coming here on the weekends at night, I definitely recommend arriving around 9 so you won't have to worry about waiting in line; even at this time, the place is lively. The bartenders are very quick to serve, even when the place is packed with people. They all definitely made sure all those at the bar were comfortable and served if they needed something. The place is huge as there are three floors with the rooftop bar being the third. There is a separate line for the rooftop when it reaches maximum capacity. The line starts at the side door outside the building. Additionally, you have to have separate tabs for each floor, but if you are at the rooftop bar, you can use the same tab for both the bars. When it comes to the music, it is very upbeat as they play the top pop and hip-hop songs and some throwbacks in the mix. Overall, this is definitely the best spot in Clarendon, but because it is highly popular, it can get packed. I have been coming to this place for a couple years now... I love their short rib tacos and margaritas but unfortunately I had a recent bad experience on Sunday (Halloween night). I decided to join in the Halloween festivities, arrived to don Tito's around 12-12:15am for their rooftop party which wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. So I ordered round of drinks and shots for myself and three other friends.. the bartender placed my order on top of the bar and as I was waiting to pay for my order the person that was next to me that was also waiting to order had accidentally bumped her elbow on one of my drinks which led it to spill over the counter. I let the bartender know and apologized since it was a complete accident. The bartender gave me no type of response and as she started moving the stuff on the bar (the box that contains the napkins/straws), wiping the counter she started shaking her head with an attitude. Then she slammed the container of napkins and straws back to the same spot. Now I understand that she may have had a long day due to the overwhelming crowd during her shift but I do not believe this was the acceptable response from her part. I was completely uncomfortable that we decided to finish our first round of drinks and head to another bar. I love Don Tito's for taco Tuesday and Sunday brunch but lately their service hasn't been as great as it was before. read more

So I have been here twice. First time I went was right after it opened and I dined for brunch. That dining experience was ok. Tonight, I had a craving for a taco so we popped in on a Thursday. We were told it would be a 30-60 minute wait, totally expected with a nice night so we sat at the bar. Our bartender was super sweet and no issue on service. Ordered guacamole and it came out with massive (literally half an avocado) chunks of avocado in it and I had to send it back for some mashing. Chips tasted stale. I don't like sending food back ever. The guacamole return was simply because there was no guacamole to eat because the chunks consumed it. Wine list? Terrible! They were out of everything and what wines they did have were conveniently the ones being produced by the restaurant owner. All in all the wine list is just not their thing. Beer menu is sub par if you are a craft beer guru. Ordered Baja fish tacos - meh. Nothing wow about the flavor. Pulled pork - were good. I would do that again. Steak - not impressed and left me feeling queezy. The restaurant was a total sausage fest. I mean, my boyfriend and I were there so I didn't really care but it was like every guy in Arlington was hanging out at DT's. We were there at 830pm. It feels like they have had one too many late nights and it does not feel or look very cleanly to me. Behind the bar looked like it went through a 2am last call. Overall this experience was just not pleasant. If you want a taco - go to the famous taco truck on Yelps top 100 in the country. It parks near Rhodes street. If you are looking for a guy in relatively good shape and single ready to mingle? Then I would give it five stars. All in all, I just didn't feel right after this experience and I ended up getting sick. Probably would never eat here again. Sad because the rooftop is good. read more

Fantastic brunch buffet! I've only been here for brunch, so can't say what meals at other times would be like, but if brunch is any indication, the food will likely be good. The brunch buffet here offers diners a vast array of delicious choices: for meat-eaters, nicely grilled lamb chops, flank steak, roast beef and more, all of which is juicy, very well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. Like seafood? You can choose paella, ceviche, grilled shrimp, etc. Also lots of different fruit and vegetable salads, a nacho station, a quesadilla station, traditional breakfast choices like made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc., and lots of desserts as well, including freshly-prepared churros with (if you so choose) delicious chocolate sauce as a topping. So many choices, and (importantly), they're all tasty and well-prepared. All this can be yours for $30 a person, which is fair given all that you're getting. The coffee is also notably good here: dark and strong, and a bit thicker-bodied. I didn't ask, but it seems like it's probably made via French press, or maybe a moka pot, as opposed to drip. Service - both tableside from the waiters and waitresses, as well as from the staff who work the buffet stations - has always been attentive, gracious and friendly. And finally, there is plenty of seating! If you've ever waited seemingly forever for a table at Sunday brunch (I'm looking at you, Tupelo Honey), then you'll appreciate this last point. Don Tito's does take reservations, but even at high noon on Sunday, tables are usually available here, so you can waltz right in and get started! read more

Introducing a brunch from 11am to 3 pm with bottomless munchies of tacos, quesdillas, churros (ate 4), omelet bar, shrimp, roast beef, fried Mac balls, huevos rancheros and so, so, so much more. All I can say is WOW! I went yesterday afternoon with my family, and it was sooo delicious! I got the grande breakfast burrito and it was soooo delicious. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwhich/burger and he loved it! He said its the best chicken sandwhich/burger he has ever had! My sister and her boyfriend got the brunch, which was obviously delicious as well. Came to celebrate a friend's birthday with Sunday brunch and was not disappointed! Although their menu isn't a typical unlimited plates & alcohol type of structure, their food items are just enough as to not confuse your hungry brain with what to eat. The food choices vary from blueberry lemon pancakes, breakfast burrito, chipotle wings, huevos Mexicano, street tacos, and many more but those were the selections we ended up ordering. Food came out within 30 minutes, the waitstaff were attentive but not bothersome. Although this restaurant isn't fine dining, food were plated nicely, piping hot, and may I add quite delicious. My breakfast burrito was flavorful & soo packed with stuffing, my friends wings were crispy & covered with just enough sauce to not lose its chicken flavor. Sadly, the street tacos weren't up to par, it was dry, not flavorful, and for the amount of food definitely not worth $13. Everything else was yum. read more

Came here for taco Tuesday back in April (before I started yelping) when the restaurant was relatively new. My girlfriend and I shared the queso with chorizo to start and I got the surf a turn tacos which were only 5$ since it was half off taco night. The queso was good until I got sever stomach pains. Let me preface that I am lactose intolerant but usually not too affected by cheese. For some reason the combo of gooey cheese and greasy Chorizo just didn't do my stomach well. I left the restaurant unable to stand up straight form severe stomach pains. It did however taste good though for those with stomachs like rocks. The surf and turf tacos were fab! They came with a generous portion of steak (although that was kind of cold), bacon bits, and a huge piece of battered shrimp along with fresh cilantro and Sriracha mayo. SO GOOD. I would have these again once I can get past how sick I got last time. Second time I went I just got chips and salads, a margarita, and a port city beer. Chips and salsa were great, exactly what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant but the marg had too much mixer in it. Way too sweet for 8$. read more

I've been to Don Tito's a few times now and have had mostly good experiences! Here are a few of my takeaways so far-- Location: 5 stars. Pretty much in the middle of the Clarendon bar scene-- right next to a bunch of other bars and the Clarendon metro! Food/Drinks: 4 stars. I came once for dinner and got some pretty good tacos. I've heard taco Tuesdays during happy hour is a great time so I'll definitely have to come back for that! Drinks to me seemed pretty average-ish for the Clarendon area. Ambiance/atmosphere: 3.5 stars. This is where I think Don T's both sets itself apart and yet has room to grow. The bar is separated into 3 levels. The rooftop bar is great when it's nice out, but you have to know that (at least on the weekends) you can ONLY get there by the side staircase on the N Hudson St. entrance. (Side note-- the handrails of this staircase are sticky and gross. Use only if you need them.) If you go in the first floor main entrance you'll see another line to go up the stairs. This will only take you to the second floor where they have another bar but it's pretty much the same as the first floor. They will NOT let you go to the rooftop from here (seriously???). So basically, either pick the rooftop and start there, or just stay on the first floor. Overall the bar has a really fun vibe for going out on the weekends and I'll definitely be back! Would've given 5 stars if it weren't for the miscommunication about the lines and sticky handrails! Edit: came here again and the line situation was just awful. Seriously. If you get here late on a weekend night be prepared to spend the majority of your night waiting in various lines. read more

Went to Don Titos for the first time with my boyfriend on Thursday night. The second floor is decidedly my favourite, with a more club atmosphere and music. First floor is more of a lounge experience, and third floor has an open rooftop. DT seems like a favourite for the slightly older crowd, with lots of professional attire and work bags in the booths. Bartenders are responsive, drinks are normal price My only gripe is the smell. It is as if the HVAC system doesn't circulate nearly as much as it should - the 2-3 fl had serious sweat and body odour, as it had twice as many people as it did. read more

Don Tito's Taco Tuesday owes me nothing. Me and a rather large group of friends went to Don Tito's for dinner and had a Ball. I got there in time for Happy Hour so I was able to enjoy $5 Margaritas which although not very strong they were tasty ESPECIALLY for $5. I had 3 tacos the pollo Asada, el pastor, and surf & turf taco. All 3 were good but the star of the show was the surf and turf taco which came with tender steak and a fried shrimp on top and it was absolutely delicious. I also had some wings which were very tasty. After 8 they have a DJ so taco Tuesday becomes lit. The DJ was really good spinning a variety of music to keep the crowd jumping. I throughly enjoyed Taco Tuesday and I will DEFINITELY be going back. read more
