The food is magnificent but please be wary of the location. It is not necessarily in the safest area and the parking is nearly impossible to find nearby. With that being said, the food is magnificent and the quality is great. They have a little area for kids to play and they do offer a bathroom near the kitchen where they work. Don't know where to start but to be quick and honest, I was extremely let down by this place and also mislead by all the reviews saying this is the best ceviche in LA. For starters, the menu doesn't have any prices other than a picture of what the "food" will look like; very similar to what you would find in a Chinese fast food restaurant. Secondly the micheladas they serve are ok but taste like 75% Clamato and the rest beer. They also drench their ceviche in lime juice which I usually don't mind but it got to the point where I felt and even heard my teeth start to squeak because of all the acidity. At this point I was eh whatever I'll get over it but here's the best part! Apparently they serve "regular" or "cocido" style ceviche which I thought was weird cause to my understanding every ceviche dish is typically cooked even if you're eating aguachiles because the lime in them would essentially, "cook" them. But the lady served us some raw as shrimp ceviche that was not cooked whatsoever. It seemed like they actually went to the fish market bought a pound of shrimp MAYBE washed out the excess gunk, peeled them, threw them in their citrus overload mixture and served them to us. Oh and they also do not give you tostadas with your ceviche they just give you a mountain of oily chips that you can buy in bulk @ El Super or something. Every single bite was all lime and slimy as shrimp, hands down the worst ceviche I've ever had Idk maybe I got a bad batch or maybe they cook just wasn't feeling it today but nonetheless the food was not even slightly good and not to mention overpriced. $22 for 1 Michelada and 1 "tostada" de ceviche de camaron. I'm used to paying insane prices for food but my meal was absolutely terrible and could not justify paying that much for RAW shrimp that wasn't even aguachiles smh. Catch me at 4 vientos or mariscos el bigoton any other day. P.s The only reason why I'm giving it a 1 star is because of the little green sauce they give with your chips; other that idk. read more

I've been to Coni'Seafood by Vicente Chente Cossio with Mexican Mariscos/seafood from Nayarit in their backyard patio where the huge tree trunk is painted white just like in tropical Mexico. The food there is good, but I find the food at Mariscos Doña Mary to be more compelling. At Doña Mary there is more of the personal touch, pride of ownership, caring, hospitalidad that shows forth. This is closer to exhaulted food coming from the heart & hearth of a wonderful family meal where you are one of the few to find entrée because you are a relative or family member. So hood! But trust me when I say it's gooooood! Family ran business with an interesting yet homely, warm, fuzzy feel. This place has been on my bucket list for 7 years, and finally for my birthday, I pulled my loved ones together to join me on this culinary experience. My poor mother was so confused, she thought I was having a birthday party at a friends house and she actually knocked on the front door and said she was here for my birthday party... Well the guy was nice enough to direct her to the back where we all anxiously waited to try Doña Mary's famous Culichi. I recommend taking an uber, lyft or bicycle since the streets are very narrow and parking is scarce. Come with an open mind, empty stomach and some tip money- this family deserves some extra love because they are happy to serve you in their home. I wish I had a place like this in Silver Lake.
