The food was very good, as was the customer service. The only issue I have is with the drinks. Apparently, they discontinued their fountain drinks. As a result, if you are dining in and order a Coke/Pepsi, you get a bottled drink. This Donatos is about a half mile from my Mom-in-Law's house. We order from this store nearly every Thanksgiving and last Thanksgiving was no different. Donatos is the hub's favorite pizza. He ordered, and a bit later, we hopped in the car to make the short trip to the store. The friendly and nice young man working that day didn't seem to be "on top of it," as we had to repeat our order to him a couple of times at the drive through window, and he kept asking us to "circle around the building," which I thought was weird. It wasn't like they had a long line of customers in the drive through. I read somewhere that when you are asked to do that in the drive through line, it sort of "resets" the time it takes the staff to fulfil an order, making it appear to management that the customers are being served more quickly than they really are. I don't know if this is true or not. When we finally got our pizzas, I double checked the order, and we were missing the 2 brownies my husband ordered. Donatos is an excellent thin crust pizza, that has toppings that go all the way to the edge. The works pizza, which essentially is an everything pizza, is our family's favorite everything pizza. The pepperoni is also very flavorful. The salads here are not very good, mainly lettuce, hardly any toppings. This location has quite a bit of seating, compared to most Donatos which are mainly carry out. The slices here are cut into rectangles/squares, as opposed to triangles. read more

45 Minutes - IN LINE! What gives!? First the app said 45 mins to make a pizza. Fine whatever. So I wait the allotted time and go to pick it up. The doors are locked so we had to get in the drive through line. They absolutely don't manage the line and don't care. You order a pizza at the pickup window? Okay, wait right here and we will cook it and bring it to you. Everyone else behind you? Not a problem, they can wait. Not kidding. Over 20 mins before the first of 30 cars moved. The Steak hogie I Ordered was cold. It had no taste. This is the second time I have had a bad hogie. I will find some place else to get food. I told the woman when she took my order on the phone that I was a senior can did not walk very good. The driver stood out side my door still knocked several times. When I placed my order, I was told it would take 45 minutes. It took an hour and a half and was cold. I was so upset, I couldn't even eat it. I have been to the Fairborn, Ohio, location many times. Each time, while in the store, I noticed one and sometimes two very hard workers while the majority of them partied in the back and sometimes in the front. Donatos needs to clean house. The service is unacceptable. The majority of the employees are lazy and not earning their paychecks. The drivers, however, have always seemed to me to be good, hard workers. I was driving on Col Glenn Hwy in Fairborn, behind a white Pontiac SUV with plates beginning K35. (I will provide the full plate--if Donato's asks.) The driver stopped at a light. After it turned green, he was still at a dead stop for about 15 seconds. I gave a quick toot, and he took off. At the next light, the same thing. Somehow he was distracted. (On his phone, maybe?) After a second courtesy toot, out comes his middle finger. This is a really bad move when you are driving around with your employer's name on the roof of your car. He drove for about the next mile in a 35 mph zone doing only 20. I guess he showed me, despite the consequences to the customer to whom he was delivering! So, I drive up to my local Donato's to inform them of the behavior of one of their drivers. After knocking on the drive-thru window, I had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to come to the window. He claimed that this was not one of his drivers. To a customer, the particular store for which the driver works is of little import. He works for Donato's, and I am reporting his behavior to Donato's. If that store manager has to call a nearby store to pass along my experience, that is called "good customer service". There is only one other store in about a 5-mile radius. I received "bad customer service". The person at my local Donato's expected _me_ to figure out which store he was from. No. There are consequences for bad customer service. I advised the person at my local store that the finger resulted in a 1-year moratorium on my purchases from Donato's. (His location, by the way, is my local store, about 1/2 mile from my house.) However, when he compounded my bad experience by refusing to take information about that experience, I decided that I shall never purchase from Donato's ever again. Ever. I am in customer service. I was appalled by this lack of good customer service--especially in light of the huge drop-off in business that Donato's is likely experiencing due to the loss of dine-in and walk-in business. Kick it up a notch, Donato's. You won't ever get my business back, but you might avoid losing other business. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Today was my first time ever trying this place. I went inside to order food. I understood there was a wait, so I sat in my car for 30 mins. (Even though the the cashier said 20.. again they were REALLY busy) I go to check on my order, the cashier said he couldn't find my order. A few minutes later, he tells me they gave my order to someone else. He then walks away and begins to help another customer. I wait til he is finished helping the other person, I then inform the cashier that he literally stopped helping me (like I wasn't there). I ask him can just refund me my money. He proceeds to get the manager. I tell the manager my disservice of the situation being a first time customer, and she just tells me she's short staffed cause of COVID. This place obviously doesn't care about customer service or their business. I also thought it was very rude that the gentleman at the front literally stopped helping me to help another customer as if I didn't exist. Their staff definitely needs to be trained on if you are assisting someone, finish the interaction. I'm not from Ohio, so I wanted to try something that most people from Ohio told my I should experience. If I could leave zero stars I would. Talk about a joke of an establishment. Called and made a very simple delivery order. They asked cash or card, I simply said cash. They said it would be 30 minutes or so. An hour goes by and I don't hear anything so I call. The guy on the phones stumbles with his words and says my "credit Card was declined." I tell him I never give a credit Card number over the phone I always pay with cash. He is silent. Then I ask why I never got a call if this phantom card number was declined. He simply replies with "I tried to call and it went to voicemail," which is another lie. I'm curious on if I will get a manager response to this. Never tried Donatos before, but this may have ruined it for me for good, since the worthless employees can't even get an order for one large pizza correct. What's the difference between here and some other trash fast food Update-the manager did call and give me a credit to get a pizza, and it was a good pizza overall, so updating my review to 4 stars! Breadsticks: You can't go wrong with these breadsticks. Almost a comfort food as you know what to expect when you order and that is exactly what you get. Meatballs: A new appetizer on the menu. Each table got a tray of meatballs covered in melted gooey cheese! The cheese pulled off (sadly) but the flavor and moistness of the meatballs didn't need it anyway. Maybe one day they will consider a cheese stuffed meatball! Chipotle Wings: I have a NEW FAVORITE!!! The chipotle wings had such an amazing flavor with the dry rub. I've always gotten wet sauce but this has made me rethink that decision. I wanted more! Salad: We sampled two salads. Both were crisp and fresh Tre Pepperoni Pizza: I'm normally a "cheese only" type of pizza gal, but for the since they went to all this trouble I decided to venture out of my comfort zone. This pizza makes me glad I did. Although it was greasier than I like (due to the copius amounts of pepperoni) the flavor was REALLY GOOD! I would actually order this. It also had shredded cheese flakes on top. Hawaiian Pizza: Also REALLY REALLY good!! Ham and pineapple with almond slices and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It really made my mouth happy. I couldn't really taste the flavor or texture of the almonds but the cinnamon give it just a hint of something special. This had a glueten (sp?) free crust which is something I've never had before but I would eat it again. Ordered a cheese pizza, wings, and a meatball sub. Got my food after an hour and 15 minutes. Pizza crust was very soft and mushy which threw off the taste. Also did not like the pizza sauce which they put on the meatball sub too. Was thinking I was ordering an NY style pizza but horribly executed. Food does not look as good as the pictures. When I first moved to Fairborn, the one bright spot was this Donatos. A couple of months ago, we ordered a pizza from here, asked for it to be well done, and it was a little past well done. That pretty much did it for me, but my partner still thought this was a great pizza place. She also lives in Fairborn, but they don't deliver to her, so... We ordered again last night. I tried to talk her out of it. I did. But she wouldn't budge. It took close to an hour to get the pizza. That isn't the real problem. That would be that it was chewy. Like it sat so long after it came out or the oven that it steamed itself. That and the onions came complete with the papery part of the skin. Hopefully, we're done with Donatos. read more

Just picked up a two pizzas and wings. Pizzas were made with the wrong sizes, and the bone-in wings were as small as chicken nuggets. I literally had one wing that was the size of a quarter...seriously! The pizzas had the least amount of toppings that I have ever seen. Most of the store workers were not wearing masks during the current pandemic situation. Tried a gluten free pizza here and must report that it was tasteless. Oddly enough we thought of "water" when we bit into it.

I ordered a pizza with extra sauce and it didn't have any sauce on it. Also the chicken on the pizza was slightly undercooked.

We ordered a pizza and it was supposed to be delivered at 1055. It's now 1144 and we finally called and are being informed that it was NEVER MADE because they were "out" of two things. Not only have we been sitting at the front door but our phone NEVER rang. This is by far the most ridiculous service I've ever dealt with. Had we not called, which we shouldn't have had to, they would have just forgot about us and closed for the night. Utterly atrocious.
