We love Renna's pizza! We ordered pizza from their website and by the time we got there the pizza was ready to go! They lady at the counter took my name and came right back with my food and gave me plates and a bunch of condiments to go with the pizza. I have been to this pizza spot because I love their slices of pizza meal but every time I come in here, there is always an associate or a staff member that has an attitude but today I had experience superb accommodating, friendly service from Latesha who works there that I thought was an owner. I watch all of David Portnoy's pizza reviews on YouTube and have tried many of the popular local pizza spots in town. I have to say, for plain cheese, fresh out of the oven, this particular Renna's location makes the best in town 100% and is a must try, dine in. Get the entire pie! We have been coming to Renna's on and off for +20 years! Tonight we ordered two Caesar salads, a large pizza with two topping and a pitcher of beer, with tip $50 to eat in. The salad came out and to be honest...very disappointing, very yellow lettuce but crunchy croutons; maybe no body orders salads?!? The pizza came out and it was 8 slices; the crust was good but the toppings were sparse and on one maybe not at all?!? This used to be my favorite pizza place, not anymore! I ordered one slice of pizza with 3 topping for $3.49. The cashier charged me over $5.50. I asked her why she charged me so much. The menu clearly states "one slice of cheese pizza....add up to 3 toppings to make it your perfect slice". She gave a bogus answer that didn't make sense! What a shame. I ordered sausage, green pepper and onion. The green pepper was completely raw and the pizza was barely warm. I ordered the pizza while I was there and waited for it, so hadn't been sitting around. Amazing tasting New York Style pizza located in the heart of Mandarin. Conveniently located in a large and busy shopping plaza near the highway. Plenty of parking nearby. Also lots of seating space in the clean and comfy dining area. Kind and professional staff. Ordered a 12" vegetable pizza on my visit. Easily can be shared but luckily I did not for this solo visit. :) Nice fresh portions of vegetables, extra cheese and delicious buttery crust. Pizza was baked perfectly! Even though I've been in the neighborhood for a while now and in this plaza multiple times over the years, I had never tried the pizza from Renna's. The pizza was delicious and I was able to order half pepperoni and half specialty, which was great. I'm not a New Yorker but this is a very good pizza and it was delicious. I think I found my go-to neighborhood favorite pizza joint. The place is simple and feels like a hole-in-the-wall establishment, which is totally cool and charming. I have been eating at Renna's, all the locations, for over 30 years. But I got a calzone tonight that was perfection. Look at it??!! Have you ever seen such a beautiful calzone? And it tasted just as wonderful as it looked. Calzone has always been good there - my favorite- but this one was just pretty too! It is with great sadness that I write this review, especially since I've given glowing reviews (on multiple local food review sites) previously. Everything has changed and it went completely downhill. Can only give 1 star because less is not an option. Pizza was always our family's favorite around town, but no longer. I know there are multiple locations around town - so hopefully the others haven't changed their pizza as well - but all other locations are even further away. Hope they turn it around at some point, but will absolutely be going elsewhere. read more

Still great as I remember from 10 years ago. We came and ordered in and our pizzas were great. A bit of a wait but a nice quiet chill atmosphere. I got a white pizza which has crush garlic on top that you could actually taste. Yum! My friend got a half cheese and half pepperoni which looked good just not as good as mine. Ha. Ate here 2 days in a row. It is so good. Had a cosmo sandwich which has lettuce, tomato, ham, mozzarella, oil and vinegar on it. This bread was so fresh! I also had a 10" pizza with beef, banana peppers, and fresh garlic. This pizza had just the right amount of sauce. The crust is thin but still filling. We grabbed a couple of pizzas tonight and Renna's never disappoints. We always get a cheese and our second pizza chosen was their meat lovers. They don't skimp on toppings and this particular pie also comes with extra cheese. Nice NY crust and flavorful sauce. If there was one critique it's that the ample toppings made the pizza a little on the salty side. Would we get this pizza again, definitely yes, but we may leave the bacon or ham off just to reduce some of the sodium. This location has been here almost 30 years and their pizza is always consistent. I like being able to also grab a slice or two when in a time pinch. I was craving pizza after donating blood and decided to check out this cute spot. I got the two slice and drink special. The food came out fast and was not overly greasy or too big to eat by myself. I think the sauce could use a little more seasoning but other than that it was good. I want to try some of the other menu options next time I am here The restaurant and bathroom are extremely clean. We always forget Renna's is tucked behind Chipotle & Chili's, but we remembered today! We had a nice pie with pepperoni, mushroom, sausage and garlic. This is the second renna's pizza that I went to, with the same punishment that I get. Whenever you order pepperoni and a regular slice, the pep slice is smaller than the cheese slice. Also why do they ring you up get your sodas give you everything before they even start to warm up the pizza? They should be warming up the pizza first. Then assisting you with ringing you up and everything so you don't have to wait. Very unefficient, this is another management issue. read more

I took a Keto break after kayaking 4 miles. I needed...wanted to carb up. We were craving NY style pizza. We usually go for Napoli style from V. So this was to mix it up. We aren't native to JAX, so we didn't believe there was good NY style pizza. We were pleasantly surprised! I got a 16 inch cheese and 16 inch deluxe pizza. It was SOOO good!!!!!!! The wait time is ridiculous. Especially for a small, dry, overcooked, overpriced skimpy pizza. We ordered a medium sausage pizza. We received a small hardly any sausage pizza. We waited over 45 mins after placing the order to get it. I doubt we will go back and definitely NOT recomme . Plenty of other, much better pizza places in Mandarin. read more

One step above a frozen dinner. Started with a brown lettuce salad with watered down Thousand Island. (Asked for extra dressing at order and request ignored.) Followed by the Manicotti entre with square possessed Mozzarella cheese melted on top of undercooked noodles. On a bright note the beer was cold. Established in 1976.

Renna’s Pizza began in 1976 when two brothers from Bari, Italy brought their family’s recipes to Jacksonville, Florida. After a stop in Brooklyn, they fell in love with Florida’s warm weather and opened their first location on Phillips Highway — introducing New York-style pizza and authentic Italian flavors to the First Coast. As Jacksonville grew, so did Renna’s Pizza. The Argyle Forest and Mandarin locations followed in the ’80s and ’90s, each serving the same hand-tossed pies and homemade dishes locals had come to love. In the 2000s, the next generation expanded to the Beaches, carrying on the family tradition. My wife didn't like that there was so little pineapple in it. Our Napoleon pastry was pretty good, and I might get it again ($5 for a small one). We both preferred it to the brownie ($4). I don't particularly like brownies, but this one looked particularly appetizing, and the order-taker said it was one of her favorites, so we tried it. That was a mistake. Perhaps I should have tried the mini cream puffs, which are a favorite of mine (3 for $5), instead. Among other things I usually like, they had carrot cake for $7 and a cup of cheesecake for $9 (which seems steep). Their fruit shaped pastries looked beautiful (and a couple next to us said they loved the mango one), but were $12 each. Their fruit-topped Danishes also looked delicious, but weren't available any more at lunch time. They also offer milk shakes and loaded (sweet) croissants. There are only four stools here next to a bar, if you want to eat in. The bathroom was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come here again, but if I were in the area I might try some of their other pastries or sweet treats.

To which I replied only with cream and sugar and I got that luscious lovely sl oblong confection. $24 for two pieces of delectable gorgeousness? I wouldn't do this often but it was a very satisfying bit of indulgence. Btw, they can't give you a cup of water, but you can buy a bottle of it. Or sit out back next to the pond with your own water bottle from the car.
