Started off to place an order through Grubhub for two Dubai chicken Shawarma wraps. With a five dollar tip my total was $45. I thought that was a bit crazy for two wraps so I just decided to drive to the restaurant myself. Got two Dubai style chicken Shawarma wraps and asked for sauce when I picked up the order. He gave me some sport peppers and some garlic sauce. I asked for hot sauce and he said there would be an extra charge for it. When I looked at the container it was a small container of some kind of hot sauce. I decided to skip as I already paid for my order. The amount of meat is generous, but the flavor is very very mediocre. It just tasted like a wrap filled with warm lettuce, warm tomatoes, warm garlic sauce, surrounded in bland chicken inside a tortilla that was buttered with sesame seeds on top and then toasted. The tortillas were all hanging on the edge of the lid that all of their condiments are stored in. It was really bizarre. Would be nice if the meat had some flavor or at the very least they offered sauces without an additional charge. Total was $29 Will not be returning. read more

Chef's kiss! First, the place a is small-ish spot in a strip mall. It's clean, bright, and appropriate. Second, I ordered via their website, which was simple, and 5 minutes later the order was ready. The staff was polite and efficient. Third, the food was DELICIOUS! I got the Bishkek mix wrap with fries. The wrap was full of fresh ingredients, including meat, cheese, vegetables, and a tasty garlic sauce. NOTE that the website's pics are cartoony and don't represent what you get. My wife and I were in the area and were initially going to go to another restaurant but we saw the magic word "Donerka" and had to take a look. Rarely can I say this about shawarma... but this was life changing. The service and ordering is pretty simple you can either go to the counter or order on a tablet. The staff is super friendly and chill. The ambiance is cozy. The chicken on the Almaty wrap with the extra garlic sauce on the side was incredible. The cucumber and onion and tomato were so fresh. I kept adding more over the top while eating the fries. No notes. This place is perfect. Will be back undoubtedly. read more

The food itself is phenomenal, but the service and management needs a little work. The staff up front seemed confused and disorganized with the orders and the actual cashier is really soft spoken, so when calling out names for ready orders, customers are barely able to hear, further congesting the line-up of to-go bags and dine ins. Then, with the actual preparation of food, none of the staff seemed to move with a sense of urgency or care for timeliness. I understand that it's typically hard to keep up when the shop is so small and there's an insufficient amount of staff--especially when it's busy--but it seemed like they were in lala land. Love the doner wraps we had! I got the Bishkek style, it's warm, melted mozzarella and beef shawarma. Like hubby's Kiev style too! Tons of carrots and different favor. Substantial and super full! Burger is a bit shy comparing to the wraps though. I would avoid it at all cost because there are countable amount (with one hand) of shawarma in the $10 burger, and the top bun was slightly over toasted due to the panini press. We ordered a couple Shawarmas and fries for pickup on a Saturday afternoon. Order was ready and got promptly in 10 minutes. Now you will never get the amount of food for the price anywhere else. The Bishek Chicken Shawarma was definitely the best! Cheese, onions, chicken and some garlic sauce around a crispy bread 9/10. My husband is someone who can eat a large amount of food and one shawarma had him stuffed. The fries seemed like they were double fried, so they were very crispy! This is supposed to be a fast food Central Asian restaurant (Kazakhstan). The interior isn't too large, but there are a few tables outside. You can order at the counter or using the kiosk. We ordered the Bishkek Chicken sandwich w/ fries & drink, Kyiv Beef sandwich, and two macarons. The bread they use seems to be a standard tortilla wrap, nothing unique. The chicken sandwich was excellent; plenty of flavor. The beef sandwich was pretty good, too, and had a nice selection of veggies stuffed inside. The fries were a letdown; they seemed just slightly undercooked. The macarons here are huge, cute, and delicious. Happy overall, but this place is expensive for a fast food restaurant. It cost $52 for two sandwiches and two macarons. The tax percentage was high (10.25%), and there was a random fee applied of $1.03. read more

Overall, an average meal. The biggest improvement needs to come from the bread/wraps. You can tell they are store bought; even when warmed, they are rough and take away from the meal. Homemade wraps would really elevate each dish to a new level! The fries and meat were excellent though! read more

Bishkek style mixed shawarma is my favourite. It is cheesy and juicy inside, crispy outside. The tractor refresher is very delicious. It has different flavours and my favourite is berry flavour. Pistachio roll is our favourite dessert - raspberry and cream cheese are so good together in it. The macaron honestly wasn't the best. I can tell it has lots of sugar instead of almond flour - so it is very chewy to teeth which should not be so with real macaron made with proper portions of ingredients. I was there for take out but I sat down to eat bc the place is clean and inviting. The homemade macarons are huuuuge. The Whoopie pies will make you forget that the world is on fire. Run here. Why aren't there more of these. I need them in Chicago and other suburbs. This works with my carnivore heavy diet. The bread is thin and soft. The spices are on point. Wonderful new Kazak--style doner kebab joint - only issue was a lack of German-style doner, the Berlin doner version is the best and is not available here. At least not yet. Hey everyone, I hate to leave a bad review. I believe in small businesses and entrepreneurship. But, this place was just awful. Save your money and spend it next door at at A Thousand Tales. Here's why I'm leaving a bad review-- the food was not fresh. We ordered mixed grill plates and the bread, fries, salad and meat were not fresh at all. The meat was dry, the rice was flavorless, the salad was old, and the fries were stale. Additionally, we TOLD the restaurant staff that the food was not good. We told them then that food wasn't fresh. They didn't do anything to try to fix the issue. They didn't offer a refund or offer to place another order. This business will not survive with poor customer service and lackluster food. Edit 3/15/24: Thank you for responding to my review. I would like a refund. We spent $40 on food we left behind because we didn't like it at all. I enjoyed the tea but we feel that you should show your earnestness to correct this situation by issuing a refund. read more

It was good, but would be much better with mayo instead of the garlic sauce on the wrap. The garlic sauce was too powerful. I'd go back and try the Istanbul wrap I think it's called, which has mayo, ketchup and hot sauce. The chicken and beef were good. read more

We were thrilled to finally try a good kebab sandwich. We had Istanbul and Bishkek. Good ratio of meat to vegetables. Good meat quality. Sandwich was little cold, but considering the vegetables and sauce it is probably hard to keep it warm. Overall very satisfied and we will definitely be back. read more
